"You okay?" Jay inquired, concern evident in his eyes.
"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I am..." Ray replied with a forced smile, opting not to share the true weight of his thoughts. "Sorry about that. It's just that the stomach-twirling thing earlier kinda messed me up."
Jay raised an eyebrow, skeptical of Ray's response. "Okay," he said, his tone indicating he wasn't entirely convinced.
However, their focus was quickly diverted when Gerald Young raised his fist in the air, signaling everyone to pay attention.
"Hold!" He spoke in a commanding tone, as a faint, unheard chorus of sounds echoed through the cavern, causing Gerald to furrow his eyebrows while intently studying the holographic map.
"Some lifeforms are heading this way," Gerald announced, prompting the hunters to act quickly. The hunters instantly dispersed into groups, with each team taking position in different chambers to brace for whatever was approaching.
