Mr Gustavo was on a call in his office facing the window side, his voice was a bit tense and with worried lines on his face, he was sounding annoyed but was trying to compose himself due to the presence of his secretary Tyson.
Tyson has been working with manager Gu for five years now and she knows for a fact that is either Gu is shouting at someone or his shouting on a call there was no other option about it, she knew at that moment that the rest of day was not going to be any joke, if there was one thing Tyson knew very well about Gustavo was the fact that he takes out his anger on his employee and she was one of them.
Seeing him on a call like this with a worried expression was kind of weird and rare, anything that was the matter was definitely serious that she knows for sure.
Tyson was still wondering what kind of call Mr Gu was on that made his mood automatically change, Tyson was still thinking of anything possible that would have made her boss worried that early morning as she was patiently waiting for Gu to finish with the call he was on so she would report back to him on things he had assigned her to do that morning.
Not long after Tyson sat down on one of the sofas in Gustavo's office with a file on her hand when he hung up the call and turned to face Tyson who stood up immediately.
"Good morning sir", she greeted as she was handling the file to Mr Gu who was still looking at Tyson with questioning eyes to know what he was supposed to do with the file.
"Sir it contains the details of the upcoming board meeting", she said.
Mr Gu just nodded and asked her to go back to her office.
Tyson opened the door to go back to her own office when she bumped into Avianna who was also trying to come inside Gu's office.
"Am so sorry Ma I didn't see you coming", Tyson said in a shaky voice with her head bowed and her hands crossed at her back.
Avianna looked at Tyson, she could even see her hands trampling from the black eye shades she was wearing, Avianna enjoys it when people are intimidated by her presence, so she just smiled at Tyson.
"It was not intentional Tyson or was it?"Avianna asked, though she wasn't expecting her to answer that question as she left her there to go meet Gustavo who has been watching them the whole time.
"Morning Gustavo" Avianna greeted as she got her butt on the sofa with her legs crossed.
"You asked to see me" Avianna said
Gustavo kept looking at Avianna's right hand all the while she was talking. That was when it clicked at Avianna's head that he must have noticed the small cut she had on her hand from yesterday night.
Avianna was still trying to look for an explanation when Gu spoke first.
"Where's Stacy? Gustavo asked now looking at Avianna's face "and why are you still in your shades' '.
At this point Avianna knew she wasn't going to escape Gu's nagging because he was definitely going to see the dark circle under her eyes due to the fact that she couldn't sleep last night if she takes off her glasses though she tried covering it with makeup but it was still very visible, so she had to put on the shades to avoid rumors.
Just when the tension was getting high, a knock was heard at the door which made the both of them a bit distracted as they looked up to see Stacy walking into the office.
Avianna took a deep breath out she never knew she was holding as she calmed down a little, Stacy you are really a life saver she thought.
Stacy noticed the tension in the office as soon as she stepped in, she had to stop coming further because she didn't understand why they were looking at her like that.
Did she do something? Or is there another scandal about Avianna she still didn't get what the looks was all about, Stacy was still trying to figure things out when she heard Gu voice.
"What time did you leave Avianna's side yesterday" Gu asked Stacy without even letting her speak, he continued " why is her hand on a plaster?" This time he shouted at Stacy as he got up from his seat coming closer and closer to her.
Stacy kept quiet because answering the question was going to make Gustavo more angry.
"I always knew that you were incompetent but Avianna won't let me stack you, are you going to take responsibility for this? What the hell is wrong with you Stacy, do you need me to always teach you your job". Gu shouted
Avianna was just watching the whole drama as Gu's voice was all over the building making issue out of none, she was already used to it, everyone knew that her manager was over protective of her especially when it comes to her getting hurt, but decided to speak up since it was not even Stacy's fault that she hurt herself.
"Take it easy on her Gustavo is not even her fault my cup slipped and fell" Avianna lied trying to calm Gu down, "it was just an accident and is not even that serious so let it slide, Stacy go wait for me outside" Avianna said in a commanding tone.
"So you wanted to talk to me about something Avianna asked while patiently waiting for him to calm down.
"The board is holding a meeting tomorrow and they are organizing a welcome dinner party for you but there is a problem" Gustavo said and paused to know if Avianna was actually listening to him, he knew how much Avianna hates attending to board meetings, so he had decided to brief her what the meeting was going to be all about before time.
"Ok, what problem is that?" Avianna asked, a bit worried.
"The company wants to remain at the apexe as usual and make a hit headline after the party so they have decided that your escort for the event will be Jason Mcann" Gu said waiting to see Avianna's reaction because he knew everything that happened between the two in the past and Avianna won't easily accept the board's decision.
"Wait what! Jason is in the country"? Avianna asked as she removed her glasses with her eyes widened in surprise and shock.
That was her worst nightmare, getting to face Jason again, what the hell was wrong with Jason, what exactly does he really want from her, why does he have to show up now.
"And if i don't want to walk down the red carpet with Jason what happens, Avianna asked in a furious voice
"Trixie will have to walk down with him and I believe you know what that means, all attention will be directed to her and many of our business partners will be there Avianna, this is a very big opportunity for us and we shouldn't miss it because of what happened to you in the past" Gu announced
Avianna has never lost anything to Trixie before and she was not even planning to do so, she tried to convince herself that this was work and she was not going to back down on it.
Even if it means accepting Jason as her escort!
