[ FIFTEEN MILES OUTSIDE JERSEY CITY - 20 June 2009 - 01:12 Am]
Hi, I'm Red Hood. I started off the night by infiltrating Black Mask's burgeoning criminal empire. Two hours later, I'm squaring off against this Meta-Human woman who tosses steel train doors around like they're made of cardboard.
"I don't know who you are, and I don't care. It's clear we both want the contents of this train," Enyo says, looking down at Red Hood with contempt. "Piss off now, and I won't smack you around for making my job harder than it already was," She says menacingly.
"God, ever since Phoenix went all ape shit crazy on Alcatraz, Meta-humans have been popping up everywhere," Red Hood says with an exaggerated sigh, still aiming his pistols at Enyo. "Don't you mean Mutants?" Enyo asked, slightly confused. "We don't use that word here," Red Hood says blankly.
"Well, I'm not a Meta-human as you say. I'm an Amazon," Enyo says with a prideful smirk. "They exist in this universe???"Red Hood asks, bewildered. "What do you mean by that?" Enyo looks at him askance.
"Never mind that." Red Hood stands up, dismissing her question, and points behind him at Black Mask, leaning on the hood of his car while still looking at Enyo, "My Boss back there, Black Mask?. He asked me to grab some kind of weapon on this train..." Red Hood then looks Enyo up and down.
"...So unless that weapon is you, please stand aside and we'll be on our way," Red Hood says, looking up at her. "By the three beards--you really don't know the amount of power you want to hand over to that man?" Enyo says, baffled.
"I've been looking for this weapon since I was sixteen--and I'm not about to let you two walk away with something that can destroy the entire world." Enyo glares down at Red Hood. "Wow, that does sound dramatic. But..." Red Hood remarks dryly.
"...I notice you're not wearing magical bullet-deflecting bracelets. So you don't have a say in what I do or don't do here," Red Hood says and jumps back, firing his guns at her.
"Who needs bracelets?" Enyo says and spins her weapon, deflecting all the bullets fired at her. "Men and their guns. So typical. I don't need a weapon to deal with someone as fragile as you." Enyo says condescendingly and drops her weapon to the ground.
"Who you calling "fragile," princess?" Red Hood asks, sounding offended. "To be crystal clear going forward--" Enyo says and rushes Red Hood before he can react and punches him across the jaw-breaking lower half of his helmet, sending him sailing through the air. "--Do Not--" Enyo dashes in front of him and kicks him in the gut stopping him "--Call Me--" She stood looking down at his prone figure "--Princess."
Red Hood coughs up blood and weakly gets on his knees, holding on to his stomach. "Got it. So what do I call you?" Red Hood asks weakly. "Enyo is fine," Enyo says, smirking. Enyo grabs the back of his jacket and holds him up with his feet, not touching the ground.
"Before you kill me--satisfy my curiosity? What is on that train?" Red Hood asks with a grimace looking at Enyo. "It's called the Bow Of Ra. A weapon of inculpable power. An ancient artifact forged in the Dark Furnace of a Black Soul. It is the End of all this and ever will be." Enyo says in an ominous tone.
"Are you sure you aren't overselling this thing? Black mask is more Crime Boss, less annihilator of life on earth," Red Hood says, perplexed. "Perhaps you don't know him as well as you--" Enyo is suddenly electrocuted by a high voltage of electricity. She grunts in pain and falls to the ground unconscious, dropping Red Hood.
"Thank god, the taser I built into the suit works; otherwise, I would be screwed," Red Hood sighs in relief, looking at the downed Enyo. "Why do I feel bad sure she tried to kill me--But only to protect the world from this "Bow Of Ra," Which, honestly, does sound very foreboding." Red Hood contemplates looking down at her. He sighs and turns to walk to Black Mask and his men.
"Splendid." Black Mask claps his hands at Red Hood. " You're every bit as resourceful and determined as I imagined, and you are going to make the perfect heir to my life's work,' Black Masks says. Behind Black Mask, a group of his men is tying chains around a single train cart.
"So, Boss, you going to tell me this was all about?" Red Hood stands next to Black Mask and watches the men work. "Of course! There are no secrets between us. Not anymore." Black Mask says and drapes his arm over Red Hood's shoulder. "Let me start by saying I have no idea, where she got her intel from--but it's all wrong."
"On this train is cutting-edge science, the future of genetics...trust me" Black Mask says pointing over to the train car.
"Goddess, alive, I'm getting sloppy. That kid caught me off guard...But he didn't finish the job." Enyo says, getting up with a groan and looking over at Red Hood and Black Mask talking. "So he's either an idiot...or there's something else going on here" She scowls and summons her weapon to her hand.
"What I'm about to show you will changes everything," Black Mask says smugly to Red Hood. "Between you and me?" Red Hood questions. "Between us and everybody," Black Mask affirms with a nod.
"That shadow...?! DOWN!" Red Hood shouts and shoves Black mask and dodges out of the way of the Halberd that slams down where they are just standing.
"An axe that comes to her when she calls, like she wasn't scary enough" Red Hood sighs and looks at Enyo. "You the Red one. We are not done here." Enyo glares at Red Hood as she retrieves her Halberd.
"That taser should have put you out for at least a few minutes," Red Hood says, jumping over a swing from Enyo's weapon. "As if a tiny shock could keep me down" Enyo snarls and swings her Halberd again that Red Hood blocks with his swords.
"You know what it sounds like? We are after two completely different things," Red Hood says, dodging out of the way of another swing and counters to which by blocking the swords with her arm braces. "You should wrap it up here and move on" Red Hood does a backflip, landing away from Enyo.
"Step away from the frail, Red Hood."
"We have you covered."
Black Mask men yell and start firing their machine guns at Enyo, who deflects them all easily. She starts running for cover.
"I've got this, guys! We need to find out what she knows!" Red Hood says and starts chasing after Enyo. "Do they not realize you're using your body...to cover me?" Enyo asks, confused, looking over her shoulder at Red Hood.
"You're a lot more noble than you first appeared," Enyo says and jumps behind a boulder taking cover. " That's one for my gravestone," Red Hood says, following after her.
"It's just the two of us here--so you can drop it now," Enyo says. "Sorry lady, but I'm not interested," Red Hood says apologetically. "The whole "Bad Guy" riff." Enyo rolls her eyes at him. "I was trained in battle out of the womb--I know when someone is pulling their punches." She says, narrowing her eyes at him.
"If you knew then you should have eased up" Red Hood glares at her while rubbing his exposed jaw. "This shit isn't easy to come by" Red Hood points at his helmet that has the lower half broken off.
Enyo looks at him, irritated, " Fine, I'm working undercover to find out what Black Mask is doing and--." "--And you're trying to disassemble them from within. That's sound," Enyo finishes, impressed.
"Look, maybe we can help each other here," Red Hood says and pulls out his pistols. "That's like a bird offering to wind to hold up the sky." Enyo sneers at him and pulls out dual Sais. "But I have already wasted time fighting you, so I accept the terms of your surrender."
"Where did you??--Never mind. Ready? one three, one, two--"
"Does counting make you feel smarter"
"I am smart!" Red Hood says and jumps out from behind cover with Enyo. Just to see a helicopter lifting the train car and Black Mask standing on top of the train car with his hands outstretched at his sides.
"You continue to impress, Red! Now, boys, lets pop the broad and get out of here," Black Mask says. "I did not see that coming," Red Hood says dumbly while looking at Black Mask. "Don't take this the wrong way "Red," but maybe strategy isn't your strength," Enyo remarks.
"Boy, that means a lot coming from not Wonder Woman. What do you think is my jam?" Red Hood says sarcastically, sneering at her. "Nothing really jumps out at the moment, and who is this Wonder Woman?" Enyo asks.
Black Mask men start firing their machine guns at Enyo. "Will you get down already" Red Hood tackles Enyo into a train car out of the hail of bullets.
"He's...stealing the entire train car?" Red Hood asks, perplexed, looking up at the helicopter carrying the train car away. "I think I've got it," Enyo says, getting up and looking at Red Hood. "A way out?" Red Hood asks, looking at her.
"No, I think you excel at shouting out the obvious," Enyo smirks. Red Hood just flips her the bird. "Unfortunately unless you can fly, we're out of luck. Prin--Enyo." Red Hood says, sighing. "The power of flight eludes me for now. But If I am unencumbered I can cover the distance in a single bound." Enyo says.
"Yeah, well--good for you. but since we need to stick together right now, I guess we're stuck right--HEERREE!" Red Hood is tossed out the top of the train car by Enyo. "You fucking bitch!" Red Hood yells just as he catches on to a chain hanging off the side of the airborne train car.
Red Hood looks down and sees Enyo jumping right by him, crashing into the train car, jostling it a bit. Red Hood grabs on tightly to the chain that sways and starts climbing into the train car.
"You really have to figure out how to treat your allies," Red Hood says, glaring at Enyo. "Is that what you think you are to me? an ally?" Enyo sneers at him. "That would be like a puma believing he was an ally because he was too slow to outrun a lion."
"Your metaphors suck, by the way," Red Hood says, looking at her unimpressed.
"What is wrong with my metaphors?" Enyo asks, confused.
Red Hood looks around the train car and freezes. "So I've got good news and bad news. The good news is, it's pretty clear this wasn't the ancient weapon you're looking for." Red Hood says.
"That is good news," Enyo sighs in relief.
"The bad news is--if that's what I think it is. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need your help." Red Hood says anxiously. "Please tell me you still have your Halberd."
"She is always where she needs to be" Enyo looks confused at his sudden change of demeanor. "Yeah, well you might want to have her make an appearance," Red Hood says in a shaky tone.
"What is...that?" Enyo asks, baffled, looking at where Red Hood had his eyes fixed. "Black Mask said, this "Game Changer" had to do with genetics." Red Hood says troubled. "You're saying that's a clone?" Enyo points and asks, astonished.
"I'm saying we helped a Crime Lord steal his own Hulk."
"...What's a Hulk?"
