Chapter 20 - The Aftermath

Kon still hasn't calmed down after a long while. So, Junko in order to help calm him down started to stroke his back while humming. It was a simple little tune, but Kon loving music even before his death started to calm down and listen.

It was soft and sweet. To be fair, it reminded him of the Davy Jones music box. It was something that was soothing to Kon. Listening in, with his tails swaying with the humming. Kon wondered how she knew the tune, but just let it be for now and just listened.

After Junko had gone through the melody, she started ask Kon questions. Although they were soft ones since she knew that Kon couldn't really take more for now.

"Are you okay?" Junko asked, just trying to get Kon to talk right at the moment. Kon just sat there however, still hugging and laying his head on her shoulder, although he nodded at the question.

"Is that thing goin to come back?" Kon however, just shrugged at that, since he isn't sure. The ice he sealed that monster in was magic, and even though it is enough to hold him for a long time, he isn't sure. He knows that Ghidorah had a draining ability so he'll have to come back and check it, but that's for future Kon to deal with.

Junko a little upset with that answer, but can't fault him. "...." Junko has a look, trying to think of another question to ask, but when she does have a question its about if they can go back to the Observatory. She doesn't want to be on the Earth when Kon is like how he is, and instead is disappointed to know that she still can't get into contact with Uncle Iroh. Ever since that thing fell from the stars they couldn't go back to it, and after a while they couldn't talk to Iroh.

At least they still have their home still, being able to move it helped them out tremendously. Thinking of that, she then pulled Kon even closer into their hug. "What do you want to do right now?" And Junko waiting for an answer, but not getting one after a while, pulled Kon away a little bit to see that Kon had fallen asleep. She just had a small smile on her face seeing his sleeping face, and he was still trying to hug her, so she just started to fly up while having Kon on top of her still hugging.

Not being any the wiser, Kon just slept soundly. Junko having the ability to place their home anywhere, started to fly away, but afterwards looked at the two being still looking at her. Godzilla and Mothra just watching her and Kon warily. She looks at them, and then continues to fly away, far far away. She doesn't know where to go when she notices a line, almost like it was guiding her. And with the impression that she should follow, started to go along the line. Across the land and into a hole in the ground. She continues though, and after being in the hole for a bit, she sees the light on the other end, and exits it. She notices that she now next to an Ocean. The water is greener than what she's seen so far, though doesn't question it and just keeps following the line. She follows it up the shoreline to where there's still a lot of green ocean, but now there's islands of the coast a little ways.

The line ends there, although where 'there' is, she has no idea, but she does have a feeling that this place is special. Time will tell however, why that is, and with that, she decides to float over to one of the Islands and puts the Door to their Dungeon down. With that, she goes inside and goes to their home in there, places Kon down and then leaves. She goes outside to place down a barrier to keep anything out. She doesn't want anything to get in or know that they're there. And with that, the Island disappears.

Junko goes back inside to see how Kon is, and to her pleasant surprise and relief, he's just snoozing away, slightly snoring though. It's a quiet snore though, not the ones where it sounds like a saw going through wood or trying to start a pull string motor.

She goes and lays next to Kon, and decides to place a spell on each of them, that they will sleep well and heavily for the next while. And with that, they both are out for the count.

In Junko's dream, she's imagining the perfect family with her and Kon. Playful kids and the like, all safe and sound.

In Kon's dream though, he's just roaming throughout a dark and light place, constantly shifting and constantly changing. Nothing the same except change. It's chaotic, but at the same time to Kon, quite soothing.

He wonders around, and with it, see's memories of the past, times with his family, and times with Junko. Although the ones with his family are more numerous, he still smiles at the dumb things he used to do with them. He hopes they're doing okay, not sure how his death has affected them. But he does know that it most likely hurt them, not being able to change what happened before he died.

And with the changing, he sees something up ahead. A silhouette. It's the other Kon.

"Hey." Dark Kon said. "Have any idea why we're seeing this?"

"No, not really, and I thought that you said that we'd only be able to see each other in that other place?"

"I did, or so I thought at least. This place is too chaotic to figure out, but if we're here, might as well try to figure out something." Dark Kon replied.

Light Kon just nodded and moved to walk next to the other him, and as they walked they went through their memories, both the good and the bad, and with it they just accepted them as is, but for Light Kon, he just brushed them off. Not wanting to really do much else other than accept that it happened and it's in the past.

But know, after a while, the both of them started to get sleepy. When they were both feeling sleepy, all of a sudden a door appeared in front of them. Still slightly awake, they opened the door, only to find that it went into the place where they first met. The forest and the lake. However, before they realized it they were already in the forest staring at the lake. They don't remember moving, but regardless they were both too tired to really care, they just went over by the water and braced their backs up against one of the trees. They both fell asleep too. And with that, they stayed that way for a long, long time.

In the outside world, Junko and Kon were too busy sleeping, but the world that they last saw, had changed drastically. The magic that Junko had placed on them had worked, only it worked a little too well.
