Chapter 18 - Longbung The Chameleon

Langelang flew with great difficulty, his back having been struck by the fiery ball released by Kaytrin. It took him almost a full day to get back to Leburo Castle. With what energy he had left, Langelang crept down the castle corridor and knelt before Leburo.

"Langelang, what happened? Why is your body covered in wounds?" asked Leburo, curious about the condition of his men.

"Lord Leburo, I was caught infiltrating the floating island of the Great Oracle. One of the guardian knights there has a strong fighting ability and left me with this severe injury after receiving her fiery ball and scythe attack," Langelang explained.

"And what about your task? Did you find what I told you to find there?"

"Yes, Mr. Leburo, you are right in your assumption. The Star Archer's heir is indeed in the Great Oracle's glass palace. I will show you. Tahtenjo!" Langelang explained and then cast his special spell to transfer what he had seen and record earlier.

Now, in Leburo's vision, what Langelang had seen and recorded appeared. In his vision, Leburo saw the Great Oracle standing in the tower of the Glass Palace, and right next to him was a boy he had never seen before and who he is, judging by his appearance, surely he was not a native of Aeros, the starbow he wore on his left arm adding to Leburo's belief that the boy was the heir of the Star Archer.

Leburo waved his hand and ended the spell Langelang had shown him.

"Well done Langelang, I will give you a reward for your good job, now heal yourself!" Leburo sent his men away.

"Thank you, Lord Leburo," Langelang replied as he crawled back, this time to the healer chamber to recover himself.

Leburo then turned to Raykogi, who was still shaking slightly, even in the scabbard he wore around his waist.

"Calm down Raykogi, you will soon meet your enemy and finish him off again!" Leburo rubbed Raykogi's sword.

Leburo thought for a while, knowing that the boy must not know anything about how to find Sternhyst.

"I also doubt that the boy has mastered his starbow. The reason why he is in the glass palace of the Great Oracle of Aeros is certain, if he wants to train there. If I capture him now, it would be very easy, but at the same time it would be useless, because I won't be able to use him to find out where the Sternhyst is. I need Sternhyst to awaken the power of darkness that has long been dormant. The power of darkness that will make me perfect and unbeatable by anyone. At the same time, I will end all stories of the legendary knight, I will end the story of the Star Archer Knight once and for all!"

With that in mind, Leburo decided to postpone the attack and capture the new Star Archer Knight. After all, it would be useless if the boy turned out to be incapable of doing his job as a Star Archer.

"Longbung!" shouted Leburo, calling the other of his men to come to him immediately.

"Do you need me, Mr. Leburo?" asked Longbung, who appeared immediately, but had been standing near Leburo's throne for some time. Longbung seemed to be tied to the wall near the corridor.

Leburo stared intently at his half-human, half-chameleon subordinate. Longbung was very good at disguising himself and adapting to his surroundings.

"Since when are you here?" asked Leburo, inwardly amazed that his subordinate was completely undetectable until his appearance.

"When Langelang came, My Lord. I was curious and wanted to hear what he had seen in the Great Oracle's glass palace." Longbung replied honestly.

"You know, eavesdropping is a bad thing, and I don't like people eavesdropping on my words," Leburo said.

Hearing Leburo's words, Longbung became frightened, he was afraid that Leburo would torture him and or give him a severe punishment. So he immediately climbed down from the wall and knelt before the Dark Lord.

"Forgive me, oh Dark Lord. I have done something bad and unforgivable. Longbung begged Leburo for mercy.

"This time I will forgive you for your mistake. Therefore, I will also give you a special task!"

"Thank you for your wisdom, sir. I will definitely carry out the task you have given me well. What can I do for you?"

"Go to the floating island and especially to the Great Oracle's Glass Palace. Observe and keep an eye on the situation there. You will find a boy with a starbow on his left arm. He is the next Star Archer Knight, I want you to keep an eye on him. The boy is probably practicing with the Great Oracle. When they finish practicing, report to me immediately. Do you understand Longbung?!" Leburo looked sharply at his men again.

"I understand Lord Leburo. But there is one obstacle for me."

"What is it?"

"I'm very weak in magic, and if I'm not mistaken, the floating island of the Great Oracle is surrounded by an invisible protective shield. I can't penetrate this shield, not like Langelang!" Longbung explained.

"That's not a problem!" Leburo muttered something strange, a magical incantation that brought a sheathed dagger in front of his eyes.

Leburo threw the dagger, still in its sheath, to Longbung. He quickly caught the dagger with his long tongue, like a chameleon catching a fly.

"What am I supposed to do with this dagger, My Lord?" asked Longbung, not quite understanding.

"You make a slit in the invisible protective dome! The dagger is capable of piercing the Great Oracle's protective wall, but it won't last long. So you make a crack the size of your body and rush into the floating palace. You only have five seconds. Because after you tear it off, the invisible protective dome will return intact!"

Longbung nodded, "I understand now, Lord Leburo!"

"Good, leave at once!" said Leburo.

Longbung paid his respects to Leburo and then, with his special abilities, he lost his form. He sneaked out of Leburo's castle and went to the floating palace of the Great Oracle to watch and spy on the Dark Lord's orders.
