"Let's make this quick." James said as he attacked the assailants. But he was surprised they were able to hold on from his attacks.
'What tenacity these guys are really holding on, even though my strength is already equivalent to a second rank with mid level strength.'
The battle ensued and unbeknownst to James and the others the third assailant already reached the injured group and with him is a crystal of huge amount of energy.
"Good thing that guy is occupied. Thank you brothers, your sacrifice is not in vain. After releasing its energy we will succeed."
He hailed up the crystal and filled it up with an even greater amount of mana making it more unstable.
"Now all of you die!"
As the crystal was about to explode he was suddenly interrupted by an attack.
"Aahh!"
"I won't let you."
"The heck is wrong with you kid!"
He said as he took out the knife and slammed one of the Dane down.
"You have a death wish huh? With still the crystal in his hand he took out his weapon and swung it to the twin that attacked him."
"No!"
And the one who took the hit was his twin brother, Dale and there his arm was cut off saving Dane from imminent death.
"Brotherly love, how touching let me show you how worthless that is after I kill you all."
He said as he loaded the crystal with another chunk of mana. But then he was stopped by James in a nick of time,
"Oh no you dont."
His arm was cut off just like how he did so with Dale and James took hold of the crystal
Only to discover that it was already about to explode.
"Oh no."
"Heh you're too late."
"No he's not."
There, stopping the crystal from exploding, Dustin stepped in and used his mana domain to create runes as he covered the crystal.

We were fighting toe-to-toe. Before she somehow had the upper hand. But when she used the unification technique her strength jumped by leaps and bound.
That was short lived because with one technique [Lightning Enhancement].
Our fight was then in my favor although I somehow show a lanky control it got better and better the more we fought.
And what is even more amazing is that I can make use of some of my technique and abilities as I slowly adapt to these speeds. Still with every pros there are cons like i need to stop on a certain interval and the constant pain in each usage.
But like I said in every usage I got better and more used to it. Now I can activate my mana domain although in a shorter range than usual I can still use it to cover certain points of my weakness.
"Don't get cocky, kid. Just because you are faster than me doesn't mean you are going to win."
"Maybe you're right but I'm not someone who blindly relies on one advantage."
I said to her as we continued the fight and sure enough I am the one who has the upper hand.
But then we paused and looked in a certain direction together.
"What is that?"
"They had that the whole time?"
"You know what that is."
"What about it?"
"Then you know what it's capable of."
"Yeah but I won't take my chances. Ha!"

She then dashed towards the crystal's direction. And used her web to reach it but i didn't let it happen and stopped her.

"I won't let you do anything. Let's end this now."
I then used all my abilities immobilizing her and swung down my chainsaw sword.
Although she dodged most of it she still accumulated some damage. and when I saw an opening I kicked him hard as I plumped her to the ground.
Bam!
And as I was about to continue I heard a sudden scream.
"Aaahhh!"
And there one of the twins being attacked by one of the assailants.
Seeing this I rushed to the place fast. But since the distance was far, I was only able to arrive when the crystal was in James' hand.
"Heh you're too late."
"No he isn't."
There I used my full power to accelerate my mind and finished a series of runes stopping the crystal to do something unknown, which is most likely exploding.
"Bolt!"
"I need time to stabilize this, so protect me."
"Sure."
James accepted my request and instead of just protecing me he killed off the remaining assailants which whom might already weak from th side effect of the potion they absorbed.
"Good thing you're okay."
"Yeah you too didn't know you could do that."
"Right back at you."
We thought everything was okay but then Titan's call warned me of something.
"KUU!"
"Too late boys. And thank you for taking care of the crystal for me."
The crystal was then taken by the spider lady but when we thought it was about to explode something else happened that shocked us.
The Explosion that should have happened didn't happen, instead it was stopped by the spider lady. It should be impossible. I'm sure I knocked her out cold. How is she able to wake up?
'More importantly, why did she stop the explosion?'
Then my question was answered by the rise of her energy. She absorbed the unstable crystal like it was nothing, slowly it subsided and showed an exoskeleton covering her.
"I'm glad that those idiots have it. To think that they would sacrifice themselves to activate that stone. Now then let's continue where we left shall we?"
Her gaze became sharp and her aura more sinister. She then moved, slamming me down.
"Gaha!"
"Ahaha, you're now slower than me, huh."
"Get away from him!"
James then attacked her, stopping her next move as she took a distance from us.
"Hmm I guess I need to take care of the small fry first before anything else."
"No! Everyone watch out."
James tried to stop her as he called out to the others but he was still too late and she arrived before James could do anything.
"Let's start with the woman first. She targeted Talia as she attacked."
"Stop!"
Before she could get to Talia, Gibson took the hit and was pierced through his body.
Right I cannot do anything for I was immovable from her last attack. but the real reason is the overuse of using mind acceleration too much.
And only James was there to stop her. But he couldn't and was only beaten down by her.
"What a drag even though my target was the other one. "
"She said as she tossed Gibson's body afar."
"Gibson!" Talia rushed to Gibson's side and poured a ton of potion to him.
That is the only thing I can process as I also took out a potion and drank it. reliving me a bit from the previous attack.
"You b*tch James yelled as he attacked her."
With a light movement she toyed with James as she pummeled her down.
"Stop boy or things might even get worse. Not like it wouldn't be, after all like you said you are our target. hihihihihi"
Hearing her say that we were not able to brush off the feeling of despair. Which only intensified her satisfaction as she laughed.
"Well then ba-bye."
"What a timely farewell."
Then out of nowhere the proctor arrived and attacked the spider lady.
"What the?!"

"Oh, you were able to react fast."
"Heh so it was you, but to think you can escape them and come here I guess you value your current work very much huh?
"You're half right, true I value my work that's why I rushed here but the other one is wrong."
"…..,no it can't be that's impossible." She said in disbelief as she thought of something.
"Sorry but it's the truth, I already finished them all before coming here."
He said as she showed her tags which seemed to be like an adventurer tag.
"No you're lying!"
She yelled as she attacked her ad along the way she exchanged blows with the proctor.
"Oh it's true and you know it."
She attacked fast and faster and then James attacked him from the back.

She was then hurt by the sudden contact with James.
"You bastard to think you were just distracting me. But then again if I look closely you are not doing well yourself huh?"
"I guess cats out of the bag, I defeated them but I still had to pay a huge price to beat them all."
"Tch, that doesn't matter. I thought Killer and the others finished you off. Either way now that mana is spread all around the place it is already impossible to hide our existence."
"That means you guys are meant to die after exposing yourself. Am I right Kalea?"
The proctor said so as she called her name.
"As expected, you're right Lone Mutt. Or was it Wolf? Either way I'll make use of the power that I have just acquired to finish you all off."
"Be careful here she comes!" The proctor yelled and James prepared and braced for impact.
The fight continued as I waited for my body to slowly heal using my healing ability.
