Chapter 5 - Dream

As the priest lay there on the orange grassy floor, the wind began to howl and blow, showering him in pine leaves, as if the very trees themselves were trying to hide him from something. The blackened feather crows and ravens began to sing in song as they flew up above the green canopies in the red-tinted sky. Their white-tipped feathers gently float down below to find their perch on the sleeping priest. [ see picture in comments] Followed by small white rain-like droplets that showered his face.

The priest began to stir, seemingly annoyed by these droplets. He began to open his hazelnut eyes. His eyes were then greeted with the sight of an unfathomable deep silver lake, in which he could see the reflections of all things, like a mirror. But the question was, why was there a lake in the forest? And better yet why is he back in the forest? As his mind ran with hundreds of questions and answers he started to slowly approach the lake, when he got there he noticed the hazy fog that covered part of the lake slowly started to lift, in its places appeared to be a giant green lily pad that was accompanied by a rather particular monster.

The monster bellowed its fat grotesque warts-covered throat, humming the tune of burrr. Its two main circular blackened lifeless eyes watch steadfastly for any who wish to cross it. Its black scales covering made its white bones stick out evermore prominently. White flames danced around its body ever changing forms to its song tune, with every burr the flames dance told the story of all the victims it has claimed. The sorry souls that danced in the flames were as, white figures reaching out for salvation that will never come. [see the picture in comments] Looking past the monster into the vast stretch of water, stood a small island with tearing-faced willow trees and various other creepy plant life.

While thinking what the fuc..k, he suddenly heard a voice. [(In a deep voice ) So..burr.. you're the new owner of the journal] Looking around perplexed, he heard it again. [Well, why are you just standing there like a lost child, hurry up and proceed to the island center…croak] [There all your questions will be answered so don't waste my time with them…burr]. It took a second for the priest to notice it was the monster on the giant lily pad that was talking. How it could talk he had no idea but seeing as nothing else was nearby he just accepted that it had to be it.

While feeling a little disturbed the priest replied, Um thank you, um kind monster, but how do I cross? The monster just sat there croaking. Not knowing what to do and being too afraid to even touch the water. After all, if a horrifying creature like that was above the water, he wouldn't even want to imagine what could be under the water. Even knowing they probably won't hurt him, doesn't mean he wants to see what they look like. Deciding that swimming wasn't an option he decided to go elsewhere and proceed to walk away when he heard.

[wait.. burr] [fine I will open the way for you.] [It seems the master doesn't want to wait for you to either one, grow a spine and swim, or take the time to figure out another way]. As soon as he finished talking the scales on his back began to vibrate violently, then suddenly they started shooting out of his back. Upon closer observations, the priest realized that they weren't scales at all, but instead were tiny tadpoles. Those tadpoles tore through the water, like a sword tearing through a paper stream.

Just as quickly as it started it stopped….then silence… then boom they appeared right next to the priest on shore, causing him to fall on his back. When the priest came to all he saw was a wall of tadpoles interlinked to form a black and sharply tipped row of teeth that had formed as one month, just smiling at him. As he continued to look, to his horror he saw a big eye forming in the middle of the black wall. It had formed into one big teal red cross shaped pupil eye, that gave a scrutinizing look. After it was done doing its scrutinizing, the tadpoles' wall came crashing down into the lake forming a flat square boat. [why square? Well no one knows] Either way it would proceed to carry him to the center island.
