Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

"Be healthy, kid! Surely one day father and mother will bring you home," said Fang Yin as he hugged Fen tightly.

It has been five years since Fen was forced to live apart from his parents. Having a tattoo of a wolf's eye on his shoulder made Fen exiled and it was reported that he had died since childhood. Considered to be bringing great disaster to King Komo-Hoacun, Commander Zhang and Fang Yin were forced to exile Fen in order to stay alive.

"Just entrust your son to me! I will definitely take care of him until I die," said Grandpa Zhang.

Zhang's grandfather was the father of Commander Zhang, a great fighter of his time who now chooses to live alone on the top of the mountain after Commander Zhang's mother died.

"Father! Please take care of Fen, don't let him go down the mountain alone," said Commander Zhang.

"Stay cool! He is a good boy," said Grandpa Zhang while stroking Fen's head.

"You'd better get home soon! I'm afraid that someone will see that you are here," added Grandpa Zhang.

Being a warlord in the Komo Kingdom, of course, made Commander Zhang likely to continue to be monitored by both the kingdom and the enemy.

"Okay, Dad!"

Placing two boxes containing food and money for the two of them, Commander Zhang and Fang Yi then said goodbye to go home. Just a few steps from leaving his father-in-law's house, Commander Zhang smelled something suspicious from behind the bushes to his right.

"Dear! Stop first!" Commander Zhang whispered to his wife

With his fighting instincts, Commander Zhang then drew his sword and threw it with all his might towards the suspicious-looking bushes.

"Who is there?" Fang Yin whispered after hearing his husband's throwing sword hit something.

"You wait here!" said Commander Zhang.

A foreign man dressed in all black complete with a mouthpiece and head was lying on the ground with a sword pierced through his chest. Commander Zhang immediately opened his mouth and examined it.

"It turns out to be a Mesui! Thank goodness not a royal person!" said Commander Zhang after seeing the eggplant flower tattoo on the man's chest.

The Mesui group, a group of brutal criminals who have always wanted to seize and take over the Komo Kingdom. I do not know since when and from where the man followed Commander Zhang and his wife. Commander Zhang also tried to observe the situation around him to make sure things were safe and no other Mesui people were stalking him. After confirming that the situation was safe and that the spy was truly dead, Commander Zhang drew his sword from the man's body and pushed the man's corpse into the abyss. He went back to his wife.

"What is it? What did you kill earlier?" his wife asked.

"It's okay, just a bobcat," replied Commander Zhang.

Forced to lie because he didn't want his wife to worry. It wasn't about the safety of the two of them, but rather the safety of Fen. For his wife Fen is everything, he will definitely give up his life for the sake of his child's safety. Not wanting to stay in the wilderness for too long because he was afraid that other Mesui people would come, Commander Zhang immediately invited his wife to hurry home.

A few hours later…

Commander Zhang and his wife, who were sitting casually together in the courtyard of the house, their eyes shifted after seeing a royal soldier who was running into his yard.

"Commander! The situation in the kingdom is in chaos! The commander-in-chief is asked to go there immediately!" said one of the royal soldiers who suddenly came to Commander Zhang's house gasping for air.

"You calm down first! Tell me what's going on first!" Commander Zhang.

"The king is raging! The concubine's mother said that Mr. Li stole his jewelry and did perverts with the servants in the palace," said the soldier.

"What? It's impossible for Li to do that," said Commander Zhang.

Li is Commander Zhang's most trusted friend and subordinate. They had been together for so many years, so he couldn't believe the person he trusted the most would do such a shameful thing.

"Now where is Li?" asked Commander Zhang.

"He was tied up in the execution field, the King sentenced him to death, Commander!" said the soldier while crying.

"There's no way Li could do such a stupid thing! Let's hurry over there!"

After saying goodbye to his wife, Commander Zhang immediately left for the palace in a hurry. When he arrived at the palace, Commander Zhang actually saw that Li was already on the execution pulpit with his whole body tied with ropes. True to Li's true demeanor, he appeared to be calm and expressionless. There was not a trace of fear on his face at all. However, Commander Zhang, who felt that he had not seen Li, immediately went to meet the King who was sitting on his throne with the concubine.

"My regards, sire!" said Commander Zhang greeting.

"You see, Zhang! I will execute your child today," said King Hoacun.

"I beg your pardon, Your Majesty the King! What was Li's fault that he was executed?" asked Commander Zhang.

"Don't pretend you don't know what your stupid subordinates are doing"

"I really don't know, Your Majesty! Please explain if your Majesty is pleased with what Li actually did," said Commander Zhang.

"Just so you know, your stupid subordinates have dared to steal my concubine's jewelry and commit lewdness in the palace with servants. What punishment is appropriate for him?" said King Hoacun.

"Dead!" he added in an angry tone.

Still very sure that Li could not do such a stupid thing, Commander Zhang kept trying to persuade King Hoacun to give up his intention of executing Li. Leveraging Li's services and sacrifices for the kingdom so far that he has used so extraordinary to make King Hoacun melt and be generous.

"Everyone can make mistakes, Sire! I beg His Majesty the King's generosity to forgive Li. I beg you, sire!" said the Commander in Chief as he knelt before King Haocun.

"It can't be like that, Sire! Once a thief is always a thief, a pervert is always a pervert. According to the rules that apply in this kingdom, everyone who commits a big mistake must be executed, Your Majesty! Maybe he did it just once, but if His Majesty the King forgives him, he will definitely do it again and maybe do something more daring than this," said Mrs. Concubine.

"It is possible that he will dare to rape me if he has the opportunity," he added

The Hoacun King, who at first seemed to be starting to melt thanks to Commander Zhang's efforts, suddenly got angry again after hearing his concubine say that.

"There is no mercy for him! Execute him quickly!" shouted King Hoacun.
