Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Lawless Town

Hundreds of years ago the Kingdom of Sallida is in a great turmoil.

The King at that time is the first king in the history of the kingdom. People around the world and throughout history recognized him as one of the most powerful king not only in the history of the Sallida Kingdom, but also including the other countries.

So what's the reason for the kingdom at that time to be in a such turmoil?

That's because one of the most heinous villain in history has the same era as the first king of the Sallida Kingdom.

It is no exaggeration that a most horrible crime a single person can do had already done by that villain.

However, all thing must come to an end. The King at that time and the most villain clashed one last time.

The King won, however he didn't kill the villain. He just imprisoned him in a barrier that made up of his own power.

All living things inside that barrier that the King labelled as a criminal can't get out no matter how strong they are. That is the effect of the King's barrier.

The more horrible the crime the more powerful the barrier will become.

That barrier is so big that it became a city full of prisoners or a lawless town later on.

The most heinous villain spend the remaining of his life inside that barrier. He's also the first prisoner of that barrier.

The King at that time on the other hand uses all of his remaining power for that barrier he also took a huge damage on his body in his last confrontation against the villain causing him to die.

That is the legend of the Lawless Town, the place where Ajearaa and his gang are going to.

It is on the southern part of the kingdom and it is not faraway from the royal palace, so it will only take half a day minimum and a whole day maximum to get there.

That's the story of [System] whom Ajearaa asked about this 'dangerous place' that his fiancee is talking about.

Midway through their journey, a group of bandits attempted to attack them.

The Knight told Ajearaa and Sanya to stay inside the carriage.

"Hah... old man you're outnumbered do you really think you can beat all of us?"

One bandits who appeared to be the leader said while the other bandits laugh as if their success is already guaranteed.

"One swing."

The Knight simply replied.

"Huh? What?"

The confused leader of the bandits asked.

"One swing of my sword is all I need to finish all of you."

The Knight said holding his sword and changing his stance that declaring he's going to attack.

The pride of the foolish bandits can't accept the fact that an old man is saying that to them.

They attacked all at once not caring about how unsightly they look attacking a single person. The only thing that matters to them now is to kill this old man in front of them, steal the belonging of the carriage, and sell the two kids inside.

However, the result they expect is different to the actual result.

The Knight swung his sword diagonally making a diagonal slash of wind cutting the bandits.

In a matter of second the bandit's eyes that full of rage and excitement turned into a lifeless one.

The blood of the bandits is all over the road. Ajearaa who witness all of this step outside and looked at the bandits with a calm expression.

"What are you going to do now?"

Ajearaa asked to the Knight.

"Well, I must removed these corpses out of the way so we can proceed to our journey."

"Wait, we're going to that prison called Lawless Town, so why did you killed them instead of putting them to that place? Our carriage might be too small to carry that many bandits, but I'm sure you have another way to get them to that prison."

"That's because these bandits are so weak."

The one who answered Ajearaa is Sanya who's stepping out of the carriage.

"The young miss is right... these bandits is so weak that they can't even tell the difference in power between us. These kind of people will only become fodders inside of that disgraceful place."

"Is that so."

"Indeed, that's why we need to go back because that place is so dangerous for a young royal like you."

The Knight said rejecting the idea of Ajearaa going to that place with a respectful tone.

"No way. We're definitely going to that place... I won't change my mind no matter how dangerous it was."

Ajearaa coldly replied turning back to the carriage. Once he go inside of the carriage he looked on the Knight through the window and said, "Also, we've got you so it shouldn't be a problem no matter where you look at it."

"If that is the young master want then I must obey. However, I want to ask a question instead, is that fine?"

"Sure, go ahead."

"What is your purpose in coming there? The young miss told me that you want to test your abilities in that place. However, to tell you the truth... I think you just want to play around since the young master is still young. If you want to play there are better place where you can play around."

The Knight said what's going through in his head in one go. It may sound harsh but the Knight said it with his usual respectful tone.

"I'm not going there to mess around. I really wanted to test my fighting prowess and that is the perfect place to do it."

Ajearaa replied with a bored expression. It's the third time someone asked the same question to him. The first is Sanya, who witnessed him doing a 'strange dance', the second person who asked the same question is of course, the energetic King Justine.

"But you can test your fighting prowess against a royal knight in a spar."

"If I spar with a knight they will hold back against me because I'm a royalty, so testing my prowess against an enemy who's holding his strength is pointless. The only way to know how capable I am is to face someone who doesn't give a tiny of bit care of my status."

Due to Ajearaa's firmed answer, the Knight turned silent realizing that no matter what he say the foolish young master of him wouldn't change his mind.

Sanya also go back inside the carriage while the knight keep removing the corpses out of the way. After that, the knight glance to a faraway direction before he rides to the carriage.

Their journey continues until they reach the border of the Lawless Town before dawn. They decided to stay in the inn to passed the night and will go inside the Lawless Town in the morning.

Ajearaa had just enjoyed a long overdue and most satisfying meal, and was now soaking in a luxurious bath.

He keeps pondering what is going to happen next day. Can his martial arts skill from earth can be useful in this world?

After he took a bath, it didn't take too long for him to fell asleep in his bed.

They rent the whole third floor of the inn so they can choose to sleep wherever they want.

Sanya too, choose a room for herself and went to sleep after eating and taking a bath.

The only person here who can't fell asleep is the worried knight. If ever something bad happens to his young master. Then, the king will make him pay dearly for it.

The first King of the Kingdom who made the unbreakable barrier give a special power to the kings that will come after him. That special power is the power to recognized a person as a criminal.

If they ever recognized someone as a criminal or a sinner they wouldn't be able to get out inside the barrier. So naturally, people whose not labelled as a criminal or a sinner can go in and out of the Lawless Town.

The knight served the kingdom since he was at a young age of 26. He has a pride of an honorable knight that even the kings of the last three generations including the current king acknowledged him.

He's getting old now, but that's not enough reason for him to stop being a knight... He wants to die as an honorable knight but if something bad happens to his young master the king might recognized him as a criminal and his honor that he works for all his life will vanish along with him.

Although, his honor as knight is important for him there is another reason for him to think about; his one year old grandson. His stepson is also a knight that died on a mission and his daughter the mother of his grandson also died giving birth.

His grandson is the only family he had and obviously he doesn't want to left his grandson all alone.

The knight spend the whole night swinging his sword outside of the inn preparing himself to do whatever it takes to prevent the worse that might happen to the two of the most important kids in the kingdom.
