Chapter 28 - S1E28 - Recap (Part 1) Murder Scrolls Arc

Twenty five years ago, a meteorite hit the surface of earth. It caused mass extinction of each and every species on earth. From the space rock escaped the radiations and chemicals, which caused some of the living beings to mutate, and gave them uncanny abilities. And thus began the new age of humanity, the Mutant Age!

Todo was playing soccer with his friends, but suddenly felt like something called him. It was not a voice, it was a feeling.

He looked to his right, and at far distance saw something falling from the sky. But.. How? The sky was open, and there were no aircrafts or drones or anything flying by. Curious, he decided to go and check.

After the match, he walked towards the direction he saw the thing. As he approached closer, the feeling of uneasiness increased. That was until he stopped and saw a dead body of a man.

The man was long dead, as could be seen by his half rotten skin, and beside him was a piece of paper. Now, you would not pick up anything which is kept beside a corpse. But the paper was not normal. It attracted Todo, and he couldn't help but picked it.

When he opened the paper, he realised that it was a map. And in it was marked a place, a labyrinth, which was abandoned long ago.

Todo arrives at the labyrinth which was marked on the map. It's entrance door was already rusty, indicating that no one has entered it for a very long time. Before going inside, Todo took a long breath.

"Should I really do this? There could be anything inside there. But it was marked on this map, so there is gotta be something inside here."

Thinking so, he entered the gate.

*KRRRRRRRR*

The gate made a sound.

Inside the labyrinth, everything was dark and silent. The walls were mossy and wet, however something was off.

By lighting the torch and directing it towards the wall, scratch marks could be seen. And they were fresh.

Surprisingly, the labyrinth was not too confusing. After wandering some more, Todo came across a door and opened it. Inside was a big room with two more doors. And the in the centre of the room stood one, stable statue.

The statue was stable. It did not moved, so it seemed it was safe. But it was not. After Todo walked to a door, in the corner of his eyes he saw something move. When he looked at the statue, it was facing him.

He looked the other way again. This time, he heard something move, saw behind, and saw the statue was near him. Now he knew what he had to do. Carefully, he reached a door and opened it and then turned to enter, but there was a wall blocking. He heard a loud noise behind him, and when he looked back, the statue grabbed his head with its hand. Fortunately, it stopped there as Todo saw it before it could snap his neck.

He then carefully proceeded to another door, entered the next room and closed it behind him.

When he entered the room, he saw horrific stuff. The room was decorated with human parts. Hands, legs and heads. It felt like a horror movie.

He carefully made his way to the altar that was kept at the end of the room. For some reason, he always felt that some force was attracting him, so he was not able to turn and run away.

When he reached the altar, he noticed that there was also an entrance behind it, but it was locked. He then opened a drawer, and found the thing that was attracting him. A scroll.

'The person the Summoner's Scroll chooses will be granted the gift of summoning', it read.

"Is this some kind of joke? Am I being pranked?"

After some though processing, he made his way back home with the scroll.

Once home, he read the writings.

'This scroll shall summon any entity that the possessor has written in it. The first entity that is summoned by the possessor shall remain with the possessor forever, while the others may occasionally rest inside the world of writings.'

Todo was amazed to find such a scroll. However, as he read furthur, things became darker.

'The scroll chooses the person who is capable of using it. If the person rejects, they shall die and their soul will be damned. But if they use it, th-'

Furthur words were scratched out, unreadble.

"I have picked up the scroll, so there is no way I am refusing to use it, or else I am dead."

Todo said as he read how to summon an entity.

'Write everything about the entity you want, and supernatural powers of required. Once written, the entity will spawn after 14 human days.'

Easy way. Todo wrote everything he thought the summon should be. And thus was written the first ever entity to be summoned by the Summoner's Scroll.

One week passed since Todo wrote the summoning. Meanwhile, the police were scratching their heads over a few incidents that have occured in the town since past 16 days.

People have been reporting dead bodies more lately than usual. And the kick is - all the dead bodies have one thing in common. All of them died because their internals were burned. No sign of physical injury on the exterior, but their insides were all cooked up.

Thinking that there might be a mutant behind this, the police decided to hand this to the organisation that is expert in these cases.

Time is up. 14 days have officially passed. It was now time that the entity shows up.

Todo entered a room and locked it. Then, he opened the Summoner's Scroll. As soon as he did, an explosion occured and the whole room was covered in red smoke.

*COUGH! COUGH*

He tried to look what caused the explosion. After some time, he saw something. It was... A woman. No wait, it was a naked woman!

"Oh hey hey hey! Why are you naked!!"

She looked around and saw Todo. Then, she approached him, smiling.

"So, you are the one who summoned me.... Master."

"Uhh stop calling me master and put on some clothes first!!"

Clothes magically spawned on her. She was the first ever entity that Todo wrote. She was... A witch.

The witch asked him to name her something, so Todo though for a while, and named her Vanda.

"So, Master, I, Vanda, am your summon, your servant. I hope you know the rules."

"Rules? What so?"

"You don't? Well, the rule is... Everyday you are with me, you have to give me your life force."

"Yo wait! I am only 17! I have one more year to be an adult!"

"Jeez. Life force doesn't necessarily means your seed. Lofe force means anything that helps YOU stay alive. As long as it keeps you alive, it will keep me alive. Which means, as long as you live, I live. You are dead, I am dead. So I will always, always protect you, my dear Master, teehee."

Todo let out a chuckle. He agreed to give her his blood as a substitute of his life force. Now, he wanted to test what else the witch could do. So, at night, he took her to the sea shore nearby.

8 past 9, Todo visited the sea shore with Vanda.

"Now, let's see what you can do."

"Okie!"

She raised both of her arms in the hand, red waves of energy came out. As soon as she dropped her hands, the ocean water started rising up and eventually started floating.

"Whoa. Amazing!"

"It's not the only thing I can do. I know many things. And about this power... Ummm.... I'll like to call it Witchcraft."

"Neat."

"Aaand now, sucking time!"

"What?"

"Life force."

"Oh, yeah."

They went home. There, Vanda bit his neck and drank some blood.

The organisation specialized at investigating and hunting supernatural forces, the Mutant Foundation. They were still searching for a mutant that could burn people from the inside.

There were a total of thirteen bodies found. And they had a pattern. The first body, near a lake. Second body, in a farm. Third body, near or in a natural structure (mountains, caves, trees etc). They repeated, until the thirteenth body. It was found in an open ground, far away from any home. There was no reason why someone would go so far to die. Or could be that the person was out for a walk.

While doing more research, the foundation received another report of weird activities in local residence.
