Chereads / Defeat The Vampire King / Chapter 4 - Go To Arkansas

Chapter 4 - Go To Arkansas

GREP!

Shiro caught and pulled Oliver from the crowd of goblins who were already waiting for Oliver's arrival. Oliver's body was so weak and helpless. His strength had been drained from paving the way for them.

"Hold on!"

Azriel looked at Shiro who was carrying Oliver on Shiro's back. He looked around, and found that there was a bomb planted on the dungeon ceiling and pointing inward. Azriel swiftly turned into a bat and ignited fire at the explosive wick.

"Hurry up!" shouted Azriel who had lit the bomb.

Shiro came to Azriel and tried to quickly climb the stairs of the dungeon, while the fuse of the bomb was already running deep and was almost inside the dungeon.

"Oh shit!"

Azriel immediately flew behind Shiro and pushed the two people so that Shiro's steps were faster.

"Don't be lazy! You so slow!" protested Azriel who turned half human and pushed Shiro who was carrying Oliver.

"Noisy!"

They also ran as fast as possible, until they managed to get past the bombs in the dungeon.

BOOM!

The sound of a very loud explosion accompanied by a fairly strong vibration, made all the goblins stop and look at the source of the sound. It became Shiro and Azriel's chance to quickly leave the dungeon.

The ruins of the dungeon fell on all the goblins and made their screams echo throughout the dungeon.

ROARR!

"Ah!"

Those who were hit by the vibrations from the building rubble immediately jumped out of the dungeon and they were thrown out of the dungeon. Oliver's body was thrown far away, so was Azriel's body as well.

At least they're okay even if they're a little hurt. There was a roar and the destruction of the dungeon they had just entered.

However, unfortunately some goblins have escaped the ruins. This immediately woke Shiro up and helped Oliver to sit up.

"Where are you going!" asked Azriel who was still trying to get up.

"You guys get out of here! I'll block them! Only 5 goblins I can do it myself!" shouted Shiro who started slashing them with a sword weapon that was almost similar to a broom.

"Tck! Always pretending to be a hero!"

Azriel made sure Oliver was okay, and he also helped Shiro finish off the goblins that had caught up with them.

Until they managed to defeat all the goblins and immediately fell because of exhaustion.

"Are you all right, Shiro?" asked Azriel who was lying on the ground.

"Yeah, I'm fine. And you? Why act stupid like that? What if you die?" Shiro teased.

"You think I only lived 10 years ago! I'm almost 1000 years old, you know!" Azriel protested at Shiro's words.

"Ha ha ha, I know. I was kidding."

Azriel smiled and caught her breath again. After everything was safe, Shiro tried to wake Oliver who was still unconscious.

"Oliver? Hang on!" Shiro called while shaking Oliver's body.

Oliver slowly opened his eyes, Azriel immediately gave the man water, and Oliver took a quick sip of the water.

"Ah!" Oliver felt his life coming back again.

"You are okay?" Azriel asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. How's the goblin?" asked Oliver who immediately looked for where the goblins were.

"Don't worry, they're dead." Shiro pointed at the mouth of the dungeon that was already covered in rubble.

"I'm grateful."

"You can walk? We have to continue our journey, because the sky already dark," said Azriel who looked up at the sky.

"Okay."

Oliver got up from under the tree and immediately prepared to go with them.

It was getting late, they immediately rushed away from the dungeon, and returned to the forest which was quite dangerous. Just yesterday they had survived the dangers of the invading goblins, they had to be even more wary.

Since Azriel is more active at night, he hides in Oliver's bag and provides a walking guide from inside his bag. During the day, he felt very sleepy. Now, Shiro with his cat form is on top of Oliver's head, and Azriel is in the bag.

Oliver carries a blue sword that he got in the cave. It seemed that he already liked the sword, and preferred to use it without knowing the consequences. He felt he could do anything with the sword.

"When you get to the city, I suggest you buy the cover for your sword." Azriel spoke in the bag.

"Why?" Oliver asked.

"This is a legend sword, and only you have been able to pick it up easily. That means, there is something between you and the sword," explained the wily to Oliver.

"Really? Why is that? Even though I don't have any power!" Oliver was surprised by Azriel's words.

"Maybe you can ask a swordsmith in that town later," said Azriel who didn't want to say much.

"Besides, our journey was also smooth. So far, I didn't smell anything, neither alien nor vampire," Shiro said to the two of them.

"Your nose works like a dog," Oliver teased.

"Of course! My sense of smell and hearing is very sensitive, you know! Don't make fun of me like that!" Shiro protested trying to scratch Oliver with his cat claws.

"You two are pretty close, aren't you?" Azriel, who heard their little argument, actually felt happy.

"Impossible!" shouted Oliver and Shiro at the same time.

"See, right! Looks close!" Azriel smiled again.

He felt it was natural that Shiro could not be away from Oliver, because he felt very comfortable in front of his adam. Even though they don't seem to get along, it can be seen clearly that they understand each other so well.

All Adams met by Azriel, considered his vampires as servants, even his slaves. They feel they have more power and become more arrogant because of that power. However, what he saw now, his adam considered a vampire as a friend. Even Oliver had never asked for anything more than asking him to be by his side.

It seems that there will be many problems, especially the struggle for Adam's position.

"We will arrive soon," said Azriel, who felt that he was very close to the destination city.

"I didn't need anything when I came in, did I?" asked Oliver breaking out in a cold sweat.

"No. You'll just be checked. After that it's safe." Azriel felt them getting closer.

Right at the perimeter of the guard, an arrow headed for Oliver's chest.

"Oliver, watch out!" Shiro immediately grabbed Oliver's hair, causing him to fall.

BROK!

TAK!

The arrow pierced right in front of Oliver, luckily it didn't hit him.

"Stop right there, young man!" shouted a guard from afar and began to approach them.

Oliver's heart was beating so fast, one of his weapons could be taken away, because they were rare.

Because it was dangerous, Shiro followed Azriel to get into Oliver's bag.

"Where are you going, kids?" a guard asked him.
