Half an hour later, I could see arrows flying and heard the clanking of swords.
"lord Maximus, the battle is fierce and Quintus seems to be holding his ground as you ordered." Namor said.
We were simply hiding at the rear of the Germania soldiers, waiting for the right time to strike.
"He has to." I said and turned to Namor.
"For my plan to work, the battle has to become more fierce so the Germania soldiers will sorely focus on fighting rather than being vigilant against an ambush." I then turned back to the scene of the battle ahead.
"Half an hour more and we will attack." I said.
"Yes my Lord." Namor then crept away.
The battle had just turned into a bloody survival of the fittest and Germania was about to send the last of its ranks, that's when I knew its time to act.
I stood and mounted my horse.
"This is it men, time to exterminate the Germanic pests."
"MOUNT YOUR HORSES, UNSHEATHE YOUR SWORDS AND LET'S RIDE OUT TO VICTORY. "
"AHUU AHUU AHUU."
And so we rode out, down towards the Germania soldiers.
Bloody and messy as it was, we pressed on and fought hard.
*CLINK*
*CLANK*
*SLASH*
One could hear the blood curdling screams of the Germania soldiers as I ran through them with my sword.
I felt such ecstasy as I've never felt before as I fought... No, as I slaughtered the Germania soldiers.
Dismembered body parts, burnt flesh and deathly chilly scream filled the entire battlefield.
I looked ahead about 20 klicks from where the battle was raging and there sat the Germania ruler atop his horse.
"Let's end this war, once and for all." I said and charged towards his direction, giving little or no care about the two hundred elite soldiers guarding him.
I ran towards them like a mad man, cutting down any soldier that tried to stop me. I was so happy and excited as heads, limbs and body parts flew around me whenever my sword meets its target.
I stopped when I was just a few feet away from his elite guards. I looked at him.
"King of Germania, hear me. I am Maximus Aurelius of Rome, son of Caesar Marcus Augustus Aurelius and General of the Roman army. I offer you the chance to keep your life. All you have to do is order your soldiers to retreat and you will pledge allegiance to Rome." I said to him. Part of me hoped he would consider and accept defeat, but another part of me just wants to continue the exciting battle.
He didn't even give a reply to me, he merely glanced at his general and I knew he's decided to fight it out.
"Your funeral, not mine." I whispered and charged forward before the General could even give out the order.
When I began to fight the elite guards, I was surprised as they seemed so weak. Why surround yourself with this useless bums.
I cut down every one of them in less than two minutes.
I approached the King and his general leisurely.
"You threw away the chance to live. Don't blame me for what's about to happen next."
The general that was so dumbstruck finally reacted but he was too late, with a swipe of my sword, he jerked a bit, dropped his sword, then his head shifted and fell. I kicked the headless body away before it could fall so as not to stain me with his foul blood.
I turned to the King and smiled.
"Oh yes, where were we?" I said and my grin grew wider.
"Shall I cut off your arms first or should I just burn you with fire and watch you dance to death?"
He gaped at me in shock.
"You're so evil. You must be the devil incarnate." He said, and I smelled great fear in him. I merely smiled.
"Actually, I'm a demon wolf." I then turned around, backing him, bent and picked up a burning tree branch beside me.
"Now Burn." I tossed the branch at his greasy leather sandal which immediately started to burn. Soon his tonic and cape were on fire, he screamed and trashed around, I watched the scene in silence and smiled excitedly.
When he fell and stopped moving. I knew he was dead, I turned around only to see Quintus and many Roman soldiers gaping at me with shock and fear.
I didn't even think about it.
"Quintus, send word to the Caesar, tell him the war is over and Germania is no more." I said and strolled out from the scene.
"Y..Yes..Yes My lord." he struggled to find his voice.
I cared less for his stuttering, my next target was definitely Commodus, and I'm gonna find him.
