Chapter Four
Mom resumed worked and I was pleased all to go back to work to find a new manager had been employed. Mom started coming home complaining that the new manager had been flittering around her and she didn't liked it , so I decided to take a look at the new manager so that day I skipped school and followed mom to her work , the business center was so big so we took the elevator to her office , when we arrived we were welcomed by the manager by name Mr Fred .
Mr Fred: so I see you brought your daughter she's very beautiful like you .
Mom: could you please excuse us
Mr Fred : I will , first of all have you told her the truth about me
Me : what truth are you talking about ( soon Monica walked in ) Monica what are you doing here
Monica : I should be asking you that well this is my dad new business center so I'm here to assist him with that , so dad what truth are you talking about
Mr Fred : daughter go back to the office I'll attend to you later
Monica : okay dad
Mom: does your daughter knows
Mr Fred : No , but I want to tell her now so she would know I'm sure she'll understand
Mom took me to her personal office and sat me down .
Mom: Melissa this may look complicating , but you have to listen to me okay , well it's about your father and sister
Me : my father and sister so I had one and you kept all this from
Mom: it's just that I didn't wanted to go back to my past I'm sorry
Me : so I can guess Mr Fred and Monica are my father and sister
Mom: hmmm you're smart . Yes they are , Monica is your twin sister
Me : mom how could you my worst enemy is my twin sister I thought I was the only child and my father was dead I didn't know I was living in lies .
I was short of words I stood up confused and went outside . I saw Monica she was mad her dad must have also told her, she looked at me speechlessly until she finally spoke ,
Monica: they were separated the day we were born dad took me away, and I have always wanted a mum I didn't know the woman I always insulted at school was my mother .
Me : they hid the truth from us ( Mr Fred and mom came in )
Mr Fred: I'm sorry we hid this kind of thing from you two your mom and I have decided to come back together and start a new life with you two,
Me : I need time to accept it I can't believe it ( I said and went out )
Monica : me too (she also went out too )
Mr Fred: I think they need time , and I'm sorry all that had happened I should have listened to you a long time ago I'm really sorry please come back to me
Mom: me too I heard they were worst enemy at school so it must be really hard for them to get along any way I've accepted and I'm ready to start a new life with you again with our daughters .
