" Push your majesty! Push! Moaning sound filled the room.
" Push your majesty. We can see the baby's head." A midwife spoke.
Phoenix Pov
Hazel has been in labor for the pass seventeen hours, the midwife and some maids are with her in the room. I tried to calm myself down but I couldn't. I fear that something bad might happen to her and our baby. I clenched my fist trying to calm myself down. It has been seventeen hours and I haven't heard anything from the maids. I was worried.
" Milord!" A voice called, bring me out of my thoughts. Turning around, I saw the midwife standing at the entrance of the throne room.
" Come in" I gestured for her to walk in.
" Congratulations! Milord, her majesty gave birth to a son."
Her words were like honey in my mouth. Finally, she has given birth.
" Let's go! I can't wait to see my son." I said without hesitation, walking out of the throne room.
" Hazel!" I called. She turned to my direction. Her eyes were red and swollen, it was obvious she has been crying for a while now. Seeing her expression, I concluded that her tears where those of joy. I sat down close to her with my hand on her forehead.
" How are you feeling?' I questioned. She had been in labor for the pass seventeen hours, I was worried about her well-being. She looked at me without saying a word. She looked pale at the moment. Seeing her expression, I was troubled.
" Where is our son?" I asked with a smile on my face, trying to lighten up the atmosphere, but no one answered. I was confused, did the midwife lie to me? Has something bad happened to our child? I questioned in my head. looking around the room, the maids and midwife looked troubled.
" What is going on? Why do you have that look on your faces? Did something happen to the child?" I asked, demanding an answer.
" Your majesty, the baby is fine. But...the baby is colored." She said, her eyes were everywhere except me.
" Colored!" I whispered a yell. seeing my reaction, Hazel cried louder. immediately I understood the reason for her tears. they were not tears of joy but of sorrow.
I gestured for the midwife to bring the baby. She went to were the baby was laid in the crib. She held him in her hands, wrapped in white linen. She careful unwrapped the baby, revealing his dark skin. I couldn't digest what I saw at the moment. Our son is colored. But it is impossible.
For centuries no colored child had been born in Sheba, no one in my lineage was colored. They were no colored people in Sheba. How did this happen? Why was our son colored? So many thoughts crossed my mind. My mind was a mess at the moment.
" Milord! why is our son colored?" Hazel asked in a depressing voice, her eyes were filled with tears. I looked at her with regret, I wish I knew the answer myself.
" Milord, if this news gets out, it will be a disaster. What should we do now Milord?" The midwife asked. She was right. if this news gets out, it will be a disaster. What will people say? What will they do? I need to do something, and I need to do it fast.
