One of the goblins jump at me swinging his dagger and missing. They seem inexperienced, either that or they're more desperate than I thought. This'll be my first fight.. ever, I have no idea what I'm doing. I am much taller and probably stronger but they still have the upper hand, weapons. The other two charge at me, they're running one behind the other and attack me one by one. The first one swipes at my throat, as it does I dodge to the left and grab its arm. It tries to break free but to no avail, once that second goes by, the goblin that was behind the one I just grabbed jumps at me, before he can get close I take the goblin currently in my hand and swing him at the goblin jumping at me. They collide mid air bones crunching like the sounds of twigs snapping, I watch the two goblins fall to the floor and lay motionless. As I watch, the world falls silent. The noise of the fighting drowned out by the static-like noise filling my head. It feels like hours have gone by, but once the noise stops I look around me to see nothing has changed. I slowly turn my head towards the final goblin, he's looking at me with shaky eyes, his weapon jittering and shaking in his hands. I clench my fists and start to move in his direction, as I do he jumps, dropping his weapon, and runs away. I feel like chasing him, my body's telling me to run after him, but my minds trying to stop me. It's like I'm fighting myself, however, my mind is stronger. I watch in silence as the goblin runs in fear.
It takes me a minute to collect myself, but once I do I contact Gizmo telepathically, I have an idea.
("Gizmo, do you have any idea how much magic I can use?")
("Forgive me mistress but that isn't something I have information about. You'd have to test your limits and see how far you can go")
("Alright I'll be careful then, thanks")
("My Pleasure, however, there's something I've been meaning to tell you")
("Hmm?")
("That spell you cast before was not a fireball it was instead a firebolt, a less destructive but more precise spell. The shape you make the spell take will determine the spell, a fireball has to be in the form of a ball, a firebolt is the form of a arrow or crossbow bolt, so on and so forth") he was right, from what I've seen in video games fire balls were much more destructive than what I used yesterday, instead of exploding the fire stuck to the hyena and engulfed in flames slowly instead of a giant explosion.
("Alright thanks Gizmo") he didn't say anything back, but I heard a little "Mmm" of acknowledgement. The floor started to rumble, the trees in the distance bending and breaking. Something was coming out of the woods. As the last few trees break I see the scariest thing I've seen since I've come to this world. It looks like a goblin but immensely fat, and very tall, almost as tall as the trees and the trees stand at about ten feet. It was fat but it had muscle on it too, it's the weirdest but scariest thing I've seen, this creature can kill any of us just as easily as we killed its brethren.
The battlefield falls silent for a moment, everyone staring at the giant creature, seconds feel like minutes and the air arounds us starts to get harder to breathe in, the air is heavy almost. The creature scans the area for a moment before letting out a gut-wrenching roar, so loud and deep it shakes the forest. Two big teeth protruding from the top edges of its mouth became visible, kind of like the hyenas but much larger and thicker. Spit and blood shoots out its mouth as it roars. I don't know what it ate before it got here but I don't want to be next. a Woman's voice, stern and fierce, shouts from the back of the field, "Retreat, we can't win this!" And just like that, they do. Everyone begins running in the opposite direction of the goblin giant. Screaming and wailing their arms as they run. My original plan is futile now.. wait, Cain and a bunch of other fighters fused together to make a skeleton giant, maybe they can do it again. I think about Cain and, with a flash of light, a portal appears in front of me. Cain walks through it, hand on the handle of his sword.
I look at him "Cain the first day we met you had fused with a bunch of other fighters to make this giant skeleton, is it possible to do that again?" he looks at me before shaking his head up and down. In a second over twenty tiny portals open and a bunch of fighters hop out. These fighters along with Cain join together in a huddle of sorts, their arms wrapping around each other's shoulders. A white light engulfs them, and they become that giant that saved me once before. I look at the goblin giant who was chasing the fleeing survivors, I raise my hand and point a finger at it, following my feelings Cain begins running forward, charging the goblin giant. Cain reaches him with surprising speed slamming into him with his shoulder, unbalancing the giant and forcing him to the ground. The giant hits the ground with a loud impact, the ground beneath him shaking and cracking, he roars in pain and everyone who's running comes to a stop, turning around and watching these giants in action. Cain hops on top of the goblin trading blow for blow until finally the goblin regains control and stands back up. The goblin looks like its in pain, a hint of fear in his eyes as he searches his surroundings. He has no tiny goblins to help him and has humans along with other humanoid creatures with bows aimed directly at him, he was alone, and he knows this is where it ends.
The giant, with no other choice, looks back at Cain and charges him. Cain and the giant are now wrestling, twisting and turning, stomping the ground trying to regain their balance each time one of them takes back control. Cain isn't losing but he isn't winning either, the arrows from the fighters barely scratches the giant, maybe magic can help. I can't think of spells that can help Cain and not put him in the same amount of danger as the giant. Then one comes to mind, a spell that can strengthen the body, support spells. But how do I cast a supporting spell; it's way different than casting something I can throw. I'm gonna have to contact my lifeline.
("Gizmo, would it be possible to cast a spell that enhances strength?")
("Such spells exist if you know of one you can cast")
("How do I cast it; would it be the same as throwing a firebolt?")
("No support spells are much different. Imagine the spell taking the shape of your target and once you have that image in your mind, release your mana into the spell. Supporting spells go off of what you want them to do so, you must think about what it will do if you want it to work properly")
("Awesome you're the best gizmo, thank you") as I cut the telepathic link I hear what can only be described as a chuckle, coming from Gizmo. These skeletons sure do like praise anyway, it's time, I look up at the ongoing fight and focus my mind on Cain, I put my hands out and imagine an outline around Cain's body, as I slowly open my eyes I see tiny faint lights surrounding his body, as they start to move closer to him. The only thing that fills my mind at this moment is strength, making Cain stronger, overpowering his enemy. With my hands extended out I felt something be pulled out of me, a good chunk of what I guess was mana. As it's pulled from me, I hear a loud and horrifying roar from the Giant. Cain is picking it up by its shoulders, his fingers burrowing deep in his shoulder blades, and slams him to the ground, the earth beneath him shattering a little. A loud crack fills the silent air, and the giant laid on the ground unmoving, but from the rise and fall of its stomach I can tell it's still alive. As it squirm like a turtle on its shell and let out desperate cries that sound like gasps of breaths, Cain put his foot on the creature's neck and pushed down. Another snapping sound fills the air as the rise of its stomach quickly drops and it lay there motionless, it's dead. Cain and the other skeletons split and one by one left through portals.
