The mysterious doll hopped in front of little Gladys and looked innocently at her. Little Gladys, confused, said,
"Isn't it my friend now?"
"Would you like it to be your lifelong friend?" Lorna asked as she gazed at Little Gladys. Glancing uncertainly at Lorna, Gladys nodded and said,
"Why not? It's just..."
Recalling something, Little Gladys hesitantly said,
"Why me? Isn't Lanadi more suited to your needs?"
Lorna smiled and looked down at Little Gladys, who was scuffing the tip of her shoe on the ground, and said,
"Why would you think that?"
"Everyone says so. Everything is done better by Lanadi. No matter what I do, they don't notice; only Lanadi pities me... But now she has it! She definitely won't care about me anymore!"
Feeling wronged, Little Gladys said, raising her head and staring at Lorna,
"She just wants to use me! As long as she acts caring, everyone praises her! Now that she has it, her position is secured, and she certainly won't care about me anymore!"
