"This is..."
Returning to the room, Teacher Yan noticed the closet door had somehow swung open, walked over to close it, and spotted the neatly folded linen cloth inside the closet. Through the clean clothes, Teacher Yan guessed this must be the room of the little girl's parents.
"Why isn't it hung up?"
Teacher Yan looked at the neatly folded linen cloth with some confusion. Having seen the empty wooden frames earlier, he had thought the little girl's family did not possess such items, but it turned out to be stored away.
"That is a cherished hope."
"You haven't slept?"
With a puzzled look, Teacher Yan glanced at Gladys leaning on the door frame, walked over to gently close the closet door, as Gladys slid the well-hidden latch shut and said,
"You should rest early, we have to go out tomorrow."
Watching Gladys's retreating back, Teacher Yan felt doubtful.
"Are those linen cloths painted with runes that ward off spirits?"
