Motan stood alone in front of the spacious wooden table, his eyes fixed intently on the Southern Region Map copied by Luna. Occasionally, he extended a finger to trace a light path over a particular area, leaving trails of light; at other times, he manipulated the assorted chess pieces on top, causing them to move slightly or to flicker with light and dark.
The forces representing two-thirds of the vanguard were condensed into chess pieces, crisscrossing the map. Aside from a few 'towers' anchored at certain critical points, whether it was a 'Knight', 'Mage', 'Priest', or 'Thief', they were all constantly shifting positions. The thick red light never dimmed for even half a second, signifying that the battle never ceased.
A Statue of the Goddess of Dawn, enshrouded in faint divine power, was placed to the left of the map, radiating a soft glow.
