These sounds seem to be heartbeats, yet they are much louder than any human heartbeat. Even the surroundings seem to tremble in the rhythm of these heart-like beats!

A tree, following the rhythmic beats, shed its leaves for a while, and then a crisp 'snap' was heard – it had split in half!
Right after the tree, the objects near the mound started giving out booming noises that seemed to indicate they were unable to bear the burden. The sounds emanating from the mound had a faint echoing quality, creating an assault-like sensation that caused nearby objects to show signs of internal disintegration with each rhythmic beat!
