The soldiers mentioned here are not those of the Auster people, but those of the Biochemical Country. On this planet, the benchmark for rating soldiers is based on the Biochemical Country's soldiers. In that country, their warfare doesn't rely on technical armaments, but on their physical combat power, which is the standard used on the planet to measure the strength of a living organism!
The combat power exhibited by Big Mosquito, a regular soldier from the Biochemical Country, would hardly reach. Even though the aircrafts belonging to the sheriffs might be considered outdated by the military, their sheer numbers definitely presented a challenge that a Biochemical Country soldier couldn't fight against!
That's why at this point, having Big Mosquito go back to help his own convoy was definitely a win-win situation!
