Victor’s POV
“I can’t go in there,” I breathed out, forcing the air in and out of my lungs as I moved away from the door and toward the balcony rail that was behind me.
I didn’t know how I had managed to keep myself standing upright for as long as I did, or even managed to level the stare she was giving me, but for some reason, there was strength enough in me to not allow her to seen me in the weakened state I felt for the past few months.
Axel came in as my saving grace, and ushered Tara and her cousins into the room where the elders were also waiting.
“They’re waiting on you, Victor,” Axel told me, his tone firm but gentle.
