Tara’s POV
Everything in my body shook as I crumbled into him. It felt like my bones had turned into dust and there was nothing else holding me up besides his arms. I had ran for what felt like centuries, following a fading scent and the link that tied Victor and I together. I wasn’t sure for how long I was running, but it seemed like I was racing the sun as it set beside me.
The air had turned cold and dark by the time I found their car, and when I had seen the building aflame, it felt as though I were remembering or reliving the memories I had seen in Sidus’ cell. Over and over again, it was like I could hear Victor’s screams, despite none of them coming from the house in front of me.
