Oh my God what was happening. Jason Herbert was indirectly asking me to hang out. This was mind-blowing. I can't believe this was actually happening. How was I going to reply in a way I wouldn't sound desperate!! This is my chance.
"Um, sure. I'm down. But when exactly will you be free?my weekend routine is kinda tight." I lied I always have nothing doing during the weekend.
"Hm. Anytime. Just give me a call. Maybe we could meet at a library that's not so far from here."
"Oh ok sure" he was turning his back to leave".I don't have your phone number tho" I lied again. I knew both his numbers.though I didn't have them saved in my phone.
"Yeah. Forgot about that " he smiled then stretched his hand out asking for my phone.
I gave it to him and he put in his number and handed it back. I felt his hand brush mine as a chill went down my spine. I collected the phone ."thanks"
"Anytime"he smiled then left. Donny and Cameroon already left a while ago.
I stared at him in a daze watching his back view get more and more out of sight. I can't believe that just happened. Somehow I managed to talk to him without speaking gibberish this time. I was just dumbfounded. After I while I smiled a little at the achievement.
Then"so this is your plan huh?" I saw a palm rest on my table."impressive "
I looked beside my and saw Brett there. with both his palms on the table beside me as he let his weight rest in the table."what are you talking about?"I rolled my eyes.
He gave me a look "y'know your plan to get Jason to talk to you without u being the one to start the conversation"
It was at that moment I remembered what I said the day before."oh yeah I forgot about that " I said under my breath."wow that was way easier than I thought it was gonna be"
"Right.And somehow all you had to do is not be a nerd for once in class"
I shot him a glare"I'm not a nerd"
He chuckled"yes you are. Now stop trying to start an argument and tell me the details of what you guys just talked about.i saw you give him your phone so I'm guessing you got his number".
"What do you mean you saw? I thought you left?"
"Nahh, I saw him coming over so I decided to give you guys space. If I had stayed you would have probably fumbled with your words due to my excessive handsomeness. "
I facepalmed.but he spoke before I could say anything."so what's up with u guys"
"Nothing, he just decided to give me tips about what to write in my presentation that's all" I continued eating.
"So you guys are gonna meet up huh"
I nodded as I continued munching my food.
"It's good for a start, maybe if u familiarize yourself with him you'll get over your obsession"
I just rolled my eyes in response." Btw why aren't you eating?"
"Hm. No appetite"he casually sat beside me in the circle table."don't you have any friends "
I knew it.this question had to come sooner or later."no. I don't like people all that much"I replied giving him a meaningful look but he just ignored it and looked away lazily.
"So that makes both of us huh?".He looked back at me.
"You don't have friends?" Somehow I just couldn't believe that.
"Of course I do. although I try to keep them as few as possible."
"So...? What do you mean"
He rested his head on the bent arm that was on the table while the other arm was stretched out."well.... lately I've not been feeling their vibes y'know. So I decided to try something,or should I say someone new " his gaze intensified.
"So....let me get this straight. the only reason you're talking to me right now is because you're bored and you're sick of your friends?"I gave him a look.
"When u say it that way u make me sound like some asshole" are u not? "Just see it as,I decided to get out of my circle because of a very peculiar nerd ."
"I am not a nerd!!. Also,I advise u go back to your friends because I'm not interested in talking to you." I drank some water.
He kept silent for some time just staring at me. I stared back at him trying to decipher what was going through his head but unfortunately couldn't."so let me get this straight...you don't want me talking to you?"
"Yes"
He raised his upper half from the table"that's sad, because I'm still gonna talk with you anyways"
"What tha-" Is this guy normal?
"Yeah. And you pretty much can't do shit about it" he shrugged.
"What do u mean.i can report you to a teaching staff for stalking"
He raised a brow,"look who's talking about stalking"
My face burned red.i forgot this guy knew my secret."look, dude. What do u actually want. Cause I doubt someone like you would just want to be friends with a random girl they saw crying on grandstands in the middle of classes"
"Well then you're wrong because I actually just want to hangout. You don't have a problem with hanging out mn, right Rhea?"
"Why can't you just give up?"I facepalmed.
"Because that's not part of my plan.anyways incase you haven't realized the cafeteria is getting empty so if you don't have plans on missing classes today I advise we start moving" I looked around and really the cafeteria was getting empty. How did I not notice when people started leaving. I was so caught up in the talk. And just like that I didn't argue anymore I just stood up and started walking towards the exit of the cafeteria as he followed behind me.
We we're In the hallway on our way back to class when all of the sudden my senses got. It scented like rosewood,sandalwood and a hint of patchouli. It scented Soo refreshing and reminded me a bit of nature. It felt like pure Bliss until I realized that Brett was resting his folded arm on my shoulder flexing his height. I mentally facepalmed myself.although it was more if a wake up call. I tilted my shoulder letting his arm fall.
