Clay watched as the gym girl reluctantly walked towards the bright orb. The scary bald man aided Jacob as they too went towards it, followed by the teenage girl.
"What are you waiting for?" Mono asked as he glared at the stunned Clay.
"A-Ah!" He exclaimed as he quickly stood up and speedwalked towards the orb. The group surrounded the orb as the bright blue light grew brighter. "Cover your eyes." Mono added in a nonchalant tone as he proceeded to put his hands over his eyes.
The group hastily followed as they too covered their eyes. The bright light grew brighter, filling up the whole forest. Leaves rustled as strong winds started to crash towards the group, they stood their ground, trying their best to hold on. In a flash the group disappeared, leaving nothing but a small crater on the ground--
"It's okay now.." Mono said as he instructed everyone to open their eyes. Clay reluctantly obliged, slowly pulling his hands down. What greeted him was a bright room, something like those old roman colloseums, but in a closed space. People wearing weird fancy clothes stood on balconies looming over the group.
Suddenly, a bright flash came from the groups right. Clay immediately turned his head to look at what was happening. He was met with more people. A group of three, a man and a woman, with a little boy. The boy looked particularly close to the woman, seeing by how he was holding onto her hand.
The confused Clay looked closer, wondering how a child could've gotten here in the first place--
"Greetings!" A loud voice exclaimed from one of the balconies. Clay once again winced in pain as the loud voice penetrated through his eardrums. He angrily turned his head to where the voice came from. 'Why do you have to be so loud?!" He thought to himself.
Turning his head towards the rich people balcony, he tried to find who the loud one was. As he was scanning the fancy people, someone stood out to him. A person donning a white cloak, with only their bright green eyes peeking out. Beside the cloaked man was a man in fancy clothes with a sword who looked like he had just found out tumors could grow teeth and hair. He stared at Clay's group with disgust in his eyes, as if he was looking at said tumor.
Then once again, the loud voice came out of nowhere. This time however, Clay was able to cover his ears just in the nick of time, easing out the pain a little bit. He looked at where the sound came from.
A stout man with your stereotypical monopoly man mustache stood in the middle of the crowd. Weirdly enough just as Clay's eyes met his, a spotlight suddenly shone on the stout man, as if saying 'Yes, that one officer.'--
"Welcome to Avalent!" The stout man enthusiastically exclaimed as he stood in front of the group. His eyes scanned the people in front of him, eventually ending up on the group with the little boy.
It looked like the boy was a little nervous as he hid behind the woman's leg. The stout man then proceeded to walk towards their group, with his eyes dead set on the woman. The man who was with them had a bad feeling as he tried to stop the stout man from going any further--
"Hey!" He exclaimed as he reached his hand out towards the stout man, but before he could do anything the stout man stopped. He stood in front of the woman, who was now visibly uncomfortable, with the little boy behind he on the verge of tears.
The man looked the woman in the eye, and proceeded to eye down the child. "May I?" He said in a soft manner. The confused woman couldn't do anything but nod in agreement. The stout man then knelt down in front of the child, putting his hand out, the boy stared as the man's hand emitted a faint light.
Bits of light started gathering in the man's hand as it slowly started to form something. When the light subsided a small teddy bear could be seen on the man's hand. He then hands ito the boy who reluctantly took it, but this time with a faint smile on his face.
Silence filled the room as everyone watched the man materialize a teddy bear out of thin air. The people in Clay's group watched in awe at the close up view of magic.
The people on the balconies who should be used to seeing this type of stuff, were as equally shocked. The silence descended into chaos as whispers and murmurs filled the room--
"Silence." The stout man said as he raised his hand up, and in a flash the room fell back into silence again. "I'm sorry you had to see that. Once again, I welcome you to Avalent." He added.
