Logan Howlett eventually forgave Silver Fox. After all, she had her reasons, and more importantly, a lone wolf does crave and need the warmth of love. Wolverine had been deprived of affection since childhood. With Sabretooth, a dull-witted older brother, by his side, he had lived a life more beast than human. This led him to yearn for a normal family and a peaceful life.
For Logan Howlett, an ordinary life seemed like an unattainable dream, as if he didn't deserve such happiness. After learning about Wolverine's early life, it was hard for the audience not to sympathize with this tough guy. Naturally, they also wished for a good ending for him.
When the video showed Wolverine and Sabretooth defeating Deadpool together, and Logan carried the injured Silver Fox towards the sunset, the audience couldn't help but cheer. However, at that moment, William Stryker emerged, aiming a revolver at Wolverine, and pulled the trigger!
People were well aware of Wolverine's abilities. With his super self-healing ability, bullets couldn't harm him. Some viewers scoffed, thinking Stryker must be out of his mind. Wolverine had spared him, yet here he was seeking death. After all the trouble of creating a mutant-killer, which failed, did he really think a mere handgun could stop Wolverine?
Understanding Stryker's mindset was possible. He had poured his efforts into Deadpool, betting everything on it. Yet, his prized "mutant-killer" was defeated by Wolverine and Sabretooth. The loss was massive, but more importantly, Stryker had a backup plan!
In the video, after being shot, Logan Howlett wasn't severely injured but was thoroughly enraged. He extended his claws and charged at William Stryker. However, in mid-air, Stryker shot him in the forehead.
With a thud, Wolverine fell heavily to the ground and, unlike countless times before, did not get up. Instead, he closed his eyes tightly...
Many viewers outside the video were stunned. That wasn't right. Wolverine shouldn't be vulnerable to bullets. He had previously endured being a target for an hour without a scratch. Now, with an adamantium skeleton, how could a single bullet take him down?
Eric squinted: "The bullet is special, perhaps made of adamantium too. Logan, you should be more vigilant. Always relying on your self-healing ability makes you an easy target."
Logan Howlett glared at William Stryker in the video, gritting his teeth: "That cunning bastard, I'll make him pay!"
Eric frowned: "You should worry about your girlfriend and those mutant captives. They've been exposed and are in a dire situation."
In the video, after Wolverine fell, Stryker didn't stop. Knowing Wolverine's terrifying regenerative ability, he shot him in the forehead multiple times before turning to the severely injured Silver Fox, intending to leave no survivors.
The video paused and a new question appeared: "Question: Did William Stryker kill Wolverine Logan Howlett?"
"A: Yes, B: No."
Eric raised an eyebrow and answered without hesitation: "The answer is definitely B. You won't die that easily. An adamantium bullet can hurt you, but not necessarily kill you. If it could, Stryker would have used it earlier, not waited until now."
Logan Howlett agreed, giving Eric a side glance, "You know, I'm not interested in you or your agenda, so don't expect me to join you. Save your breath."
Logan could tell Eric was a highly ambitious mutant. Despite his radical and fanatical theories on mutant evolution, there was some merit to them from a mutant's perspective. But Logan had no interest in the so-called future of mutants; he just wanted a quiet life free of trouble.
So, he decisively declined Eric's recruitment. Eric Lensherr wasn't angry, just smiled: "I know what you want, Logan, but you're naive. You don't understand your situation. Haven't these future videos made it clear? Being a mutant is a sin!"
Due to his childhood experiences, Eric Lensherr had recognized the problems and conflicts mutants faced in human society. At this point in time, however, he was still relatively young and focused on avenging his parents' death. He didn't have much energy to delve into the broader issues between mutants and human society. But through Wolverine's future videos, he saw the future of mutants clearly and awakened his ambition.
To Eric, Logan's desire to hide and live a quiet life was both naive and foolish, especially since he never learned from his mistakes. Having already suffered once, he still believed that staying away from trouble would allow him to live peacefully.
But Eric didn't push further. Instead, he waved his hand: "Let's answer the question first. Since you have no objections, we'll choose B. Remember to press the answer button."
Meanwhile, on Team A, Spider-Man and Wanda were also moved by Wolverine's future videos. Peter Parker said, "I like this tough guy. He's a good person. Although he did some bad things, I still hope he survives. Let's choose B."
Wanda shrugged, having no objections. Soon, the countdown for answering began, and both teams pressed the answer button simultaneously. Team A succeeded in answering first.
When the countdown ended, the correct answer was revealed. Both teams were correct, with Team A earning 4 points and Team B earning 1 point. After answering, the video resumed. William Stryker, after seemingly finishing off Wolverine, approached Silver Fox to eliminate all witnesses. However, the cunning Stryker made a fatal mistake.
Despite having a gun and being able to kill Silver Fox from a distance, he chose to get close. This gave Silver Fox the chance to use her abilities. She grabbed Stryker's leg, and through physical contact, she could influence and control him. As a result, the gun aimed at her suddenly turned towards Stryker's own chin.
