Chapter 577 - William Stryker's End

Soon, the countdown for answering began, and both teams quickly pressed the buzzer in front of them.

This time, Team A answered successfully. After some discussion, Wanda and Peter deduced from the clues and information given in the video that William Stryker was the real culprit behind everything, and they also chose option C.

As they expected, the answer was correct. Team A scored 4 points, while Team B got 1 point each. However, Wolverine was more concerned about the truth. He stared intently at the light screen.

After the question session, the screen began to play the subsequent video, just as Wolverine hoped. Logan Howlett, after tearing apart a helicopter and escaping his pursuers, didn't flee overseas or hide. Instead, he started investigating the truth.

It was clear that after enduring that brutal human experiment, Wolverine realized that William Stryker had been deceiving him. He found his former special squad teammates and learned from them a truth that was completely different from what William Stryker had told him.

William Stryker claimed that all the tragedies and misfortunes were caused by the out-of-control Sabretooth, who hunted and killed the members of their special task force. This part was true, but the cunning lie was that Sabretooth's loss of control was false. He had always been following William Stryker's orders!

Learning this, Logan Howlett realized that he had been manipulated by William Stryker all along!

Over the years, Victor had been hunting mutants under William Stryker's orders, not just their former teammates but also newly awakened mutants, sending them to a facility on Three Mile Island for human experiments.

Seeing this, Erik Lehnsherr's forehead veins bulged. The capture and imprisonment of mutants reminded him of his unbearable painful memories, and he said angrily, "Do you see, Logan? Humans have never considered us mutants as their equals!"

Logan Howlett glanced at him and found that this guy was even more agitated than he was. Frowning, he said, "I don't care about that because I will tear him in half sooner or later!"

In the video, Wolverine tracked down a mutant with the nickname Gambit. Gambit had also been imprisoned at the Three Mile Island facility but had successfully escaped and knew a lot about the place. However, upon seeing Wolverine, Gambit mistook him for one of Stryker's hunters and immediately attacked.

Gambit's techniques were dazzling. The seemingly harmless cards in his hands turned into powerful weapons, blasting Wolverine out of the house.

Coincidentally, just as Wolverine got up, he saw Victor. By now, Wolverine had discovered Stryker's scheme but still considered Victor the murderer of his lover. The two brothers inevitably fought again.

Last time, Logan was badly beaten by Victor, his bone claws broken. But this time was different. Wolverine's skeleton had been reinforced with indestructible Adamantium, and combined with his superior regeneration and recovery abilities, he quickly gained the upper hand. In a short time, Wolverine completely suppressed Sabretooth.

If Gambit hadn't jumped in to disrupt, Sabretooth might have been killed on the spot by the furious Wolverine.

Logan Howlett initially sought Gambit for information. Despite their common enemy, Gambit stubbornly resisted. Wolverine had to beat him into submission before 'convincing' him to lead the way to the Three Mile Island facility, giving him a chance to kill William Stryker and exact revenge.

Meanwhile, William Stryker was busy at the Three Mile Island facility, working tirelessly on his X-Weapon project. From his words, it was clear that he had been secretly planning for over twenty years, capturing countless mutants for experiments in an attempt to create a 'perfect' weapon by combining their abilities.

A military general was also there, criticizing Stryker's extreme and hateful attitude towards mutants. Stryker vehemently denied this, claiming he valued mutants' abilities.

Watching this, Erik Lehnsherr's smile was icy. "Ha, look at his disgusting hypocrisy."

Logan Howlett clenched his fists, popping his steel claws. He recognized the figure considered by William Stryker as the perfect X-Weapon: Wade Wilson, a former member of their special task force. Wolverine had a deep impression of Wilson's talkative nature, but now he lay on a cold operating table, his mouth sewn shut.

Honestly, Wolverine didn't feel much sympathy for Wade Wilson, whom he found annoying, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of impending doom. If he hadn't overheard Stryker's plans, he might have ended up as another one of Stryker's puppets.

"What a cunning and despicable bastard!" Logan Howlett cursed through gritted teeth.

The subsequent video showed William Stryker's even more treacherous side. The military general, displeased with Stryker's deceit, intended to remove him from the X-Weapon project. The general cited a significant reason: Stryker's son was a mutant who had killed his wife. Given such a tragedy, how could Stryker not harbor hatred towards mutants, contrary to his claims?

The general's true motive was to take over the nearly completed X-Weapon project. He was unhappy with Stryker mainly because of the botched Wolverine affair.

Naturally, William Stryker was unwilling to step down. Having poured so much effort into the project, he couldn't tolerate being ousted at the last moment.

Feigning righteousness, Stryker swore to protect the American people and eliminate all threats. Then, without hesitation, he picked up a surgical knife and killed the elderly general!

Seeing this, the William Stryker outside the screen couldn't help but gasp, his lips trembling uncontrollably. He knew he was utterly doomed.
