Chapter 569 - Can Spider-Man Always Save the Day?

Peter Parker didn't want to involve Gwen in any danger.

However, things took a turn for the worse. At this moment, Peter could only pray silently in his heart that with his protection, Gwen would be safe and sound.

Wanda saw his concern and comforted him with a smile, "Don't worry too much. I've seen the future of another Spider-Man. He also had a beloved girlfriend—uh, not Gwen, I think her name was Mary Jane? Anyway, it's not important. What you need to know is that every time a villain tried to deal with Spider-Man, they would kidnap her. Honestly, I can't even remember how many times she got kidnapped, but in the end, Spider-Man always managed to save her. So there's nothing to worry about."

Hearing this, Peter Parker felt a bit relieved. At that moment, the video on the light screen resumed playing, drawing their attention.

In the video, Spider-Man was restrained by Electro, with electricity chaining him in mid-air, immobilizing him. Electro smugly said, "Spider-Man, you didn't expect me to have this move, did you?"

Just as he finished speaking, a police car suddenly crashed in, hitting Electro and sending him flying. The electrical control was lost, allowing Spider-Man to break free.

But when he saw Gwen getting out of the police car, he nearly jumped with anxiety, his first instinct being to get her to leave this dangerous place. Gwen, however, didn't listen to him. The girl was determined and breathlessly scolded Peter Parker for sticking her to the car with webbing and for making decisions on her behalf.

Just as Spider-Man worried about her, she constantly worried about her lover. She didn't come to cause trouble but because she believed she could genuinely help.

After a brief argument, they both knew this wasn't the place for a fight. Clever Spider-Man had already thought of a way to deal with Electro. Since Electro loved to consume electricity, they would let him have more than enough to handle.

Gwen immediately volunteered to reset the power plant system and promised to reactivate it at the right moment to support Spider-Man's plan. Meanwhile, Electro, who had been thrown away, got up, seemingly unaffected by the minor injuries, and launched another attack on Spider-Man.

Spider-Man continuously dodged the electric attacks coming from all directions, and when the opportunity arose, he jumped to a core cable nearby. Enduring Electro's assault, he used his webbing to painstakingly reconnect the broken cable, making himself part of the circuit. But to defeat Electro, he had to push through, yelling towards Gwen at the control panel, "Now, do it!"

Gwen hesitated slightly but then resolutely pulled the switch. Instantly, a surge of electric current coursed through the cables. Spider-Man didn't even have time to scream before being thrown away by the force. At the same time, the high-voltage current rushed towards Electro. Like a large battery, Electro could continuously absorb electricity for his use but had a limit.

While absorbing electricity, Electro could control the amount he took in to avoid reaching his limit. However, the high-voltage current was too overwhelming, and Electro couldn't react in time, quickly reaching his limit...

Meanwhile, the dark New York City gradually restored its electricity and light. Under the high-voltage shock, Electro struggled in pain and screamed until he could no longer contain the overwhelming current, exploding with a bang, leaving nothing behind.

With the crisis averted, Peter Parker slowly got up from the ground. Though victorious, he didn't come out unscathed, feeling thoroughly shocked by the electricity. But fortunately, it was all over. Spider-Man even joked to Gwen, "Maybe we can still catch the flight to London."

The audience outside the screen knew the danger wasn't over. Even though Electro was dealt with, there was still the Green Goblin!

Sadly, their warnings couldn't penetrate the screen or space-time. So, when the Green Goblin appeared, cackling and riding his glider, Spider-Man was startled, almost not recognizing his friend Harry Osborn!

But Harry Osborn recognized him immediately, furiously shouting, "Peter, you said Spider-Man rejected me, but it was you who rejected me! You were my friend, but you betrayed me. Look at what I've become—it's all your fault!"

Harry Osborn looked ghastly, more grotesque than ever. His heart was even uglier, blaming all his misfortunes on Spider-Man. To him, Spider-Man's refusal to give him blood was the root of all his problems. His logic followed the adage: "Good people should have a gun to their head."

The audience also found Harry Osborn intolerable, considering him much worse than his counterpart from another universe, who, despite his mistakes, was much better.

In the video, Peter Parker didn't want to turn against his former friend, constantly trying to persuade Harry to come back. But Harry ignored his words, laughing coldly, "Peter, you took away my hope, so I'll take away yours!"

With that, he lunged at Gwen, grabbing her. Spider-Man didn't hesitate to swing his web and chase after them. They ended up at the top of a tall clock tower. The Green Goblin, agile on his glider, easily dodged Spider-Man's web shots below. Ignoring Gwen's pleas, he coldly said, "Harry Osborn is dead!"

Clearly, he was determined to stay on his dark path. Spider-Man, probably sweating profusely under his mask, could only swing his web; he couldn't fly. He had no way to reach the high-flying Green Goblin, shouting for him to take out his grudge on him and let Gwen go.

"Alright!"

The Green Goblin sneered and released Gwen, sending her plummeting. Spider-Man didn't hesitate, diving after her and catching her mid-air. They fell into the clock tower's interior, barely catching a breath before a bomb was thrown down at them. Fortunately, Spider-Man's quick reflexes saved them from the blast.

At this moment, the video paused again, presenting a new question:

[Can Spider-Man/ Peter Parker save his girlfriend Gwen Stacy from the Green Goblin/ Harry Osborn's attack?]
