Chapter 490 - Symbiote Spider Man

Peter doesn't resort to killing when dealing with criminals; usually, he defeats them and leaves them for the police.

However, Harry in the video seems to not believe in him. In his eyes, Peter's forehead might as well be engraved with the shining words 'Father's Murderer,' making it hard to ignore.

Meanwhile, in the video, Peter and his girlfriend Mary Jane are enjoying the moonlight on the outskirts. Peter had created a spider web, allowing them to lie on it, comfortably enjoying the clean and beautiful night sky.

Their luck seems good today; they witness several shooting stars, creating a romantic scene. The young couple starts discussing their future happy life, getting carried away in their conversation.

At this point, Gordon suddenly thinks of something and says, "Peter may turn bad. Could it be related to Harry? If he seeks revenge on Peter, he might choose to kidnap Mary Jane, leading to an unfortunate incident. And Peter, unable to bear the shock, might succumb to darkness."

"It's a possibility," Bruce remarks, glancing at the concerned Peter. He adds, "Once Harry becomes the second Green Goblin, consumed by hatred, his actions will have no limits."

Hearing their discussion, Peter becomes more worried. At this moment, the video pauses, presenting a new question:

[Spider-Man's bad turn is related to which option?]

[A: Venom

B: Second Green Goblin

C: Mary Jane

D: Aunt May.]

Gordon's eyes brighten, thinking the answer is likely between B and C. Bruce asks Peter, "Who is Venom?"

Peter, without guessing, knows it's probably Harry as the second Green Goblin. That leaves option A, Venom, somewhat unclear.

Peter shakes his head, "I haven't heard of it, but it seems to be a villain alias, like Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus."

"If that's the case, options a and b represent villains, while c and d represent your family and girlfriend," analyzes Bruce. "Your turn to turn bad would either be due to a personal tragedy, like losing a loved one, or due to criminals targeting poisoning, or experimentation. Two categories, and two possibilities. What do you think?"

Peter thinks it's more acceptable for him to turn bad due to criminal targeting. He doesn't want to lose a loved one.

Bruce nods, "Then we need to choose between a and b."

Gordon believes Peter's intuition might not be reliable, given his previous incorrect intuitions.

However, Bruce thinks Peter is internally strong, especially after overcoming his problems and finding his life purpose. He leans toward believing Peter's turn to darkness is a result of enemy manipulation.

Soon, the countdown started, and the players clicked the answer button one after another. This time, Arthur succeeded in buzzing first. He thought about it and finally chose: "a"

"Hehe, Venom... quite an interesting name," he remarks.

Bruce raises an eyebrow, also choosing "a" and saying, "This option is peculiar, but likely the correct answer."

Peter nods, following suit. Gordon, however, sticks to his own idea and chooses "c."

When the countdown ended, the correct answer was revealed: [The correct answer is: A]

[Congratulations to player Arthur for the correct answer, earning 4 points. Player Bruce Wayne and Player Peter Parker both answered correctly, gaining 1 point each.]

[Player Jim Gordon answered incorrectly, deducting 1 point]

Arthur shakes his head mockingly, "Commissioner Gordon, you're quite a stubborn person. Bruce explicitly told you the correct answer, and you still got it wrong?"

Gordon scowls; he doesn't know how to argue. Nonetheless, being an adult, he acknowledges that with age comes a certain stubbornness, a belief that with so much life experience, there's little he hasn't seen.

In this quiz game, Gordon faced some stubborn challenges. Despite Bruce's subtle hints, there were times when Gordon either didn't notice or stuck to his own beliefs, leading to a series of mistakes.

After answering the questions, the video began to play again on the light screen. Just as Peter enjoyed a romantic moment with his girlfriend Mary Jane, a meteor fell nearby.

Peter, deeply in love, appeared to have dulled his senses, unaware of his surroundings.

From the crater where the meteor had landed, a sentient, pitch-black mass slowly emerged, fixing its gaze on Peter. Meanwhile, unnoticed by Peter, the black substance discreetly clung to the motorcycle's rear license plate as he rode away with his girlfriend.

Bruce examining the situation on the screen, speculated, "Could this black substance be Venom? An extraterrestrial entity resembling a living creature fallen from the sky?"

Gordon, observing Peter, inquired, "Don't you usually have a spider sense? You should have sensed the meteorite landing in advance, right? And the black substance is on your motorcycle!"

Peter, perplexed, scratched his head. The complexities of love seemed to have temporarily disrupted his Spider-Sense. He mused that love might divert energy, making it challenging to concentrate, causing a malfunction in his Spider-Sense.

Unaware of Venom's existence, Peter, after escorting Mary Jane, visited Aunt May. Learning of his proposal plans, Aunt May generously offered her former wedding ring for the occasion.

Although Peter has wanted to buy an engagement ring for a long time, but given his financial situation, he doesn't know how long it will take him to save up before he can afford it. Now he can start the proposal plan as soon as possible.

Peter happily rode his small motorcycle to his rental house, but on the way, a sudden attack occurred. The attacker, flying on a hang glider and donning a unique battle suit, revealed himself as the second-generation Green Goblin—Harry Osborn!
