Arthur seems to have fallen in love, smitten with a woman who doesn't seem to mind his peculiar behavior.
While many viewers find this plot too cliché, Arthur's mental state does improve under the inspiration of love, as if seeing hope.
But soon, his hope begins to crumble.
One day, Arthur performs at a children's hospital, happily playing the clown, when his colleague Randall's revolver suddenly falls out of his pocket. This terrifies the doctors, nurses, and children.
Arthur hurriedly puts the gun away, fortunate that the clown makeup on his face conceals his embarrassment. However, the incident has severe consequences.
His boss receives complaints, and during the conversation, without a second word, the boss demands his resignation. Arthur tries to explain, but it's futile.
In addition, the boss reveals that Randall had previously reported that Arthur had asked him to buy a gun last week!
Even though the gun was a gift from Randall, now it's portrayed as if Arthur bought it from him. Clearly, Randall is afraid to take responsibility but had claimed to support Arthur at that time.
In the video, as the boss berates Arthur and fires him, Arthur, holding the phone, falls into a daze. His life, which was showing some improvement, plunged into despair once again.
Outside the video, Peter Parker shakes his head, asking, "Why did he lie? Randall clearly gave Arthur the gun. Why tell the boss that Arthur bought it from him?"
Commissioner Gordon glances at the gloomy Arthur and says, "Probably trying to avoid trouble, attempting to distance himself."
Bruce Wayne looks at Arthur and asks, "Is your company laying off employees?"
"Hehe..." Arthur smirks, softly laughing, "Which company in Gotham isn't laying off employees? Oh, by the way, Wayne Enterprises might be an exception."
Peter Parker suddenly realizes, "I get it. Because the company is laying off, Randall gave Arthur a gun, intentionally framing him to get Arthur fired so he can stay in the company!"
Then he sighs, "This world is just too dark..."
Arthur's life, already miserable with mental illness, now experiences the dark side of society. In the video, he hasn't even had a chance to remove his makeup, looking disheartened as he takes the subway home late at night.
It's already very late, with few people in the subway car. Besides Arthur, there are only three office workers who just finished their nightlife and a young woman.
The three suited office workers, having come from a bar, start harassing the young and pretty woman sitting across from them. Arthur, sitting not far away, witnesses this scene and sees the woman's anxious eyes.
However, he dares not intervene, burdened with his own troubles. Unfortunately, at this moment, he has an episode, uncontrollably bursting into laughter, catching the attention of the office workers.
In the dimly lit subway car, they shift their attention from the woman to the Joker. Arthur tries to explain and even reaches for his business card, but they don't give him a chance. One removes his wig, and another grabs him from behind, allowing the third to punch and kick him.
Soon, Arthur is knocked down, too weak to resist. But in the next moment, when the subway car is momentarily dark, a gunshot rings out!
Some viewers outside the video are startled. When they see Arthur holding a revolver in his left hand, cleanly shooting the two office workers, and then chasing the last one, they realize Arthur has a gun!
This time, he won't be defenseless against the bullies like in the opening scene of the video. He chooses to use the gun!
"Oh God, he killed them. I thought he would endure it silently like before..."
"Enough, they deserved it. They paid the price for their reckless behavior!"
"Guys, don't forget, Arthur is the Joker! I bet after killing, he will transform. This is a crucial turning point for him to become the Joker!"
"Joker... Honestly, seeing this, I feel some sympathy and approval for this madman. The environment he's in is hell, so his descent into madness is completely understandable."
"You actually think that? Wow, I guess you're as crazy as Arthur?!"
Since future videos are from Arthur's perspective, people empathize more. Especially those living in the lower layers of Gotham, who may not have Arthur's mental illness but feel the pervasive pressure in this cruel city, pushing people to madness.
Just like in the earlier video of Batman confronting the Joker, when the Joker is caught, he says, "The whole city is going crazy; the mental hospital won't be able to hold everyone!"
Arthur remained slightly panicked after killing the two men, yet this had no impact on his pursuit of the final target. With two precise shots, he killed the last one, letting out a gasp while cursing, "Damn it!"
In a seemingly unexpected move, he dashed towards a public toilet by the roadside. Viewers speculated that he intended to cleanse the blood from his face and change attire, considering he had just taken someone's life. A typical reaction would involve altering appearance and seeking concealment.
Contrary to expectations, Arthur, after a few deep breaths, began to move in a slow dance. Despite the heavy clown makeup and a faint smile on his face, his eyes remained remarkably calm. His body engaged in peculiar, almost ritualistic movements. The posture resembled a dance yet conveyed an aura of mysterious symbols and sacrifice.
While Arthur's dance is not particularly attractive, people feel a strange allure. They seem to sense something emerging from Arthur's body...
In the eternal space, Peter Parker looks at Arthur with complex eyes, "Did these things already happen, or are they yet to occur?"
Arthur shakes his head, "No, I haven't experienced these things yet, but now everyone knows."
Bruce Wayne solemnly says, "The future can be changed, Arthur. You now have the opportunity to control your destiny and future."
