As Superman, Thor, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange soared into space, Captain America, Falcon, and others boarded an aircraft intending to find Ant-Man and Dr. Hank Pym.
Falcon was quite familiar with Scott Lang, who went by the alias Ant-Man. They had crossed paths before, and eventually, Sam served as Scott's reference to join the Avengers during the Civil War.
From Player Steve Rogers, they learned something surprising: Scott Lang would play a crucial role in shaping the future. This revelation left Sam astonished.
"Wow, what did that guy do?" Sam wondered.
Captain America shrugged, responding to the curious gazes of Falcon and others. He didn't intend to reveal more about the future, simply stating, "As long as we win this battle, Scott won't have it as tough."
Nick Fury pondered, "Why not reveal all the details about the future to us?"
The shrewd leader of the agents could sense that the players were holding back information. Instinctively, he wanted to dig deeper and gain more insight into the future.
Captain America glanced at him and said seriously, "Tony once said, and I mean the Tony from our timeline, once said something accurate: when you play with time, time plays with you. Listen, we can change some aspects of the future, but we must not act recklessly, or it could lead to serious consequences!"
After two missions involving time travel, the players had gathered some rules and guidelines. Changing the future had limitations, and it had to be done with the mission's objective in mind.
For instance, their current mission was to save young Peter Parker, which meant they had to confront Thanos. Only by preventing Thanos from obtaining all six Infinity Stones could they ensure Peter's safety.
Considering this, the players take proactive steps, rescuing the Asgardian refugees and Thor's brothers, gathering scattered Avengers, and revealing future information related to Thanos to them, all to unite their forces.
All these actions fell within the rules of the quiz game. However, going beyond these rules could lead to penalties and dangerous consequences for this parallel timeline.
Captain America with a beard in this timeline asked, "Since changing the future can lead to unfavourable results, then what you're doing now seems like a violation of the rules."
Captain America shook his head, "No, this is within the rules. Our purpose in coming here is to help you deal with Thanos. Don't ask too many questions about other matters; knowing too much can be problematic."
Nick Fury chuckled at the response. Such statements were common in his line of work, and he often used them too.
At this point, Sam shifted the conversation to Wonder Woman, curious about her origins. Diana smiled gently and pointed at Captain America, "We're comrades."
With that, she didn't elaborate further.
The atmosphere grew silent for a moment. Suddenly, Captain America from this timeline thought of something and asked Fury, "Nick, did S.H.I.E.L.D. really dissolve?"
In this world's timeline, S.H.I.E.L.D. had disbanded years ago, and even the Avengers had fallen apart. But with the players' interference, everyone noticed that what was supposed to be history, S.H.I.E.L.D. seemed to still exist. Fury's extraordinary capabilities, like the advanced aircraft they were on, hinted at it.
This raised suspicions: had S.H.I.E.L.D. returned?
Nick Fury calmly replied, "Preparation is always useful at any time. Captain, do you think that relying solely on the Avengers can fully protect our world from harm?"
Captain America fell silent. While the Avengers were skilled, they had limitations, and there were ideological conflicts that led to a civil war. Not to mention the grim future where they suffered at the hands of Thanos. Their powers, it seemed, were insufficient to safeguard the Earth effectively.
Captain America raised an eyebrow and asked, "Nick, did you deal with Hydra?"
S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded mainly because this supposedly righteous organization had been infiltrated and corrupted by the Hydra, to the extent of becoming a Hydra branch.
Nick Fury confidently stated, "Of course, Steve. You should trust me. How could I stumble in the same place twice?"
He assured them that the current S.H.I.E.L.D. had undergone a comprehensive cleansing and was now clean, with no possibility of Hydra spies, or any spies at all.
Captain America of this timeline remained silent, still not fully convinced of Fury's self-assured words. Player Captain America didn't dwell on it and nodded, "That's good to know."
After all, in his timeline, thanks to the quiz game's appearance, Hydra had been exposed early on and was essentially eradicated, while S.H.I.E.L.D. still existed.
As they chatted, they arrived at their destination.
"Finding this place wasn't easy," Nick Fury informed them. "Scott was under house arrest due to his involvement in the Civil War, but this guy isn't exactly obedient. Just three days ago, he caused quite a commotion, which has been a headache for some people."
Fury had his sources of information and quickly learned the whereabouts and actions of Ant-Man and Dr. Hank Pym. They seemed to be planning something big, causing unrest among certain authorities.
Dr. Pym had shrunk his research facility down to a keychain, which he carried with him, including his car and more.
With such extraordinary abilities, they easily evaded tracking by the authorities, but the Fury had pinpointed their location.
The group arrived at the building where Dr. Hank Pym and his family were finally reunited. After some effort, Dr. Pym successfully retrieved his wife from the quantum realm.
Unlike the original timeline, their actions faced less resistance from official authorities. Thanks to Nick Fury and higher-ups' intervention, Bio-Intelligence (BI) withdrew its control over Hank Pym and Scott Lang.
They sensed that something was amiss. After reuniting and discussing the matter, they heard the doorbell ringing downstairs, a sign of trouble.
"We have visitors!" Scott Lang immediately suited up.
Hank Pym and his wife exchanged a smile and held hands as they headed downstairs. "Don't worry, Scott, we can handle this."
