Chapter 339 - Thanos

"Damn it, these alien armies look even more terrifying than when Thanos invaded Africa before. Thanos has the power to destroy Earth!"

"I can't understand why, during Thanos' first invasion of Earth, we only saw superheroes like Captain America and Iron Man. Where is the military support this time?"

"We spend so much on our military budget every year, and taxpayers contribute so much. But when we need protection, where are they?!"

"Don't forget, in this timeline, we lost half of our population! Even if we had the military, could they withstand Thanos' alien army?"

"Heh, I think it's better that the government didn't intervene. Otherwise, it would have been a nuclear apocalypse, and we might have been destroyed before Thanos succeeded in destroying Earth"

After a moment of silence, whispers started among the crowd. It seemed like nobody dared to speak loudly, even though they could feel the pressure from the alien army on the screen.

Nick Fury squinted his eyes, carefully examining the situation of Thanos' army on the screen, and said, "Coulson, if it were now, do you think we could resist Thanos' invasion?"

Coulson frowned, thinking for a moment, and replied, "It would be tough, boss. You have to understand that Thanos is much more famous in the universe than we are on Earth. He has destroyed countless civilizations and planets. Even with our preparations and the help from the quiz game, I still think it's challenging to resist Thanos' invasion."

Nick Fury then turned to Clint Barton, and asked, "Do you agree, Clint?"

Hawkeye pondered for a moment and said, "No, I think we have a fighting chance. We're not alone; Bruce and Clark will help, as well as Doctor Strange and Asgard!"

Nick Fury nodded and said, "You're right. I've always thought about it. The quiz game revealed that the Infinity Stones were on Earth, so why didn't Thanos make a move immediately? He might fear the quiz game, but the main reason is probably that the timing for invading Earth wasn't right. If you think about it, in the normal timeline, Thanos invaded Earth at a perfect moment. The Avengers were divided due to the Civil War, and key figures like Doctor Strange and King Odin were gone. Asgard was destroyed. It was an ideal opportunity for Thanos."

In The Eternal Space, Tony Stark raised an eyebrow and said, "Thanos is about to get serious!"

He then turned to Nebula and asked, "Nebula, you're probably familiar with Thanos' army. Can you give us some insights?"

Nebula glanced at him and didn't refuse. She began introducing Thanos' generals one by one. Over the years, Thanos has led his army to conquer and destroy countless civilizations in the universe. He had loyal and powerful subordinates, including Ebony Maw, a strategist proficient in psychic powers; Proxima Midnight, the general with a spear, and her husband Corvus Glaive, who wielded a glaive; both were adopted children of Thanos and formidable leaders. Lastly, there was Black Dwarf, known for his immense strength and durability.

Tony Stark shrugged and said, "Got it, just like Thor, another brute."

Thor glared at him and retorted, "Don't compare me to these minor characters. I am Thor, the God of Thunder!"

Nebula spoke seriously, "Don't underestimate them. They've killed more enemies than you can imagine. They wield Thanos' most deadly weapons, the sharpest spear, and the sturdiest shield."

Tony Stark rubbed his chin curiously and asked, "I wonder how Thanos is feeling right now while watching this video. What do you think?"

Nebula lowered her head, thinking, "No one knows what father is thinking. But we all know that whenever such situations arise, it's best not to provoke him."

Meanwhile, in the depths of the universe, far beyond Earth, a massive spaceship hovered motionless. It faced a colossal screen, even larger than the ship itself. A few months ago, the quiz game arrived in this universe, and since then, these screens have been appearing all over the cosmos.

Initially, some people didn't take these screens seriously and crashed their spaceships into them, only to find themselves colliding with an indestructible barrier. Everyone had learned their lesson.

However, this particular spaceship now stood still in front of one of these screens, all because of the video playing on it. This spaceship belonged to none other than the cosmic overlord, Thanos.

Thanos had been having a tough time recently. Ever since the quiz game exposed him, his plans had been disrupted. The Infinity Stones had become widely known across the universe as all-powerful wish-granting stones, and he had become a universally hated figure.

The universe was vast, and Thanos, who hadn't yet collected all the Infinity Stones, was far from being the unstoppable force he aspired to be. To make matters worse, figures like Odin, the Allfather of Asgard, and Ancient One were still alive.

Even though Thanos had learned from the quiz game that the Earth possessed the Infinity Stones he coveted, he had to tread carefully and plan his moves slowly. Moreover, the game revealed other formidable characters, such as Ego, the living planet; Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension; Darkseid from the Batman Universe, and the mysterious puppeteer behind the Time Variance Authority known as Kang the Conqueror.

All of these factors made Thanos realize that there were always greater challenges and threats out there. Therefore, he had been keeping a low profile, waiting for the storm to pass before continuing with his plans. Yet, even in this remote corner of the universe, the quiz game hadn't spared him.

Inside the spaceship, Thanos sat on his throne, his chin resting on his hand, calmly watching the video on the screen. Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, and other loyal followers stood around him, casting furtive glances at their leader.

Thanos spoke in a deep voice, "Creating a new universe, yes, that's what I should do, instead of destroying the Infinity Stones after my plan is complete."

"Time travel might be a good option too, to avoid some trouble," suggested Ebony Maw.

"No, these insignificant ants can hardly be considered trouble," replied Corvus Glaive coldly. "They are nothing more than repulsive vermin. Mark my words; under the leadership of our great Lord, we will destroy this tiny planet!"
