After messing up the mission to find the Space Stone, Tony came up with a remedy: another time-travel journey to a different point in time to obtain the Space Stone.
After discussing it with Steve, they simply teleported away, leaving Ant-Man in disarray in the wind.
Outside of the video, Scott Lang couldn't help but complain, "Honestly, I feel like you guys don't consider me one of your own! We were on this mission together, but you left me out!"
Natasha laughed and shook her head, saying, "No, don't think like that. At the time, we were under tight time constraints and couldn't explain it to you properly. Besides, Captain and Tony knew that time-travelling again carried great risk, so they didn't want to take you on that risky journey."
Steve Rogers added, "Scott, we are a team, that's without a doubt. Now everyone knows that the idea of time travel was yours. You're the key to the future, my friend!"
Scott Lang was delighted to hear that, but he tried to remain calm, saying, "Well, I just suggested a little idea. In the end, Captain and Natasha, it's your accomplishments that made it happen!"
Natasha smiled and said, "There's no need for mutual praise. Let's continue watching the video. Wow, this time, Captain and Tony have travelled quite far down memory lane."
In the footage, a military base could be seen with a sign that read 'Military Base' at the entrance, and underneath it, it was specially marked as "Birthplace of Captain America."
Scott Lang mused, "In this era, Captain America can still be considered a full-fledged idol."
On the other hand, Thor asked a similar question, but Tony Stark simply shrugged and said, "At that time, people were idolizing rock stars. Captain America was already passed."
Thor raised his shoulders and commented, "Once people reject war, they also direct their anger towards the heroes of war."
Tony Stark looked at him in surprise, not expecting such words from the bruiser.
In the video, Captain America and Iron Man had successfully infiltrated the military base, wearing the uniforms of regular military officers.
Tony Stark playfully asked, "You're not born here, right?"
Steve Rogers explained, "No, but the idea to create me was born here."
Tony Stark then asked him, "If you were in S.H.I.E.L.D., and you wanted to create an intelligence organization similar to it, where would you hide it?"
Steve Rogers pointed to a small hill not far away, saying, "Right out in the open."
This small hill looked somewhat like an anti-aircraft pit. It didn't appear very big, but Tony Stark, using high-tech thermal imaging glasses, could see that there was a secret base beneath it. This was where S.H.I.E.L.D. was originally established.
Outside of the screen, Earth, Shield Base
Agent Coulson was curious and asked, "Boss, have you ever worked there?"
Nick Fury shrugged, "That was many years ago. If I remember correctly, this place was also exposed in the video, this is the place where Dr. Zola was living."
In the video, Captain America and Iron Man successfully entered the elevator at the base. Inside the elevator, apart from them, there was a woman. Tony Stark was clever and blocked her line of sight, as Steve Rogers was wearing only a hat, with nothing covering his face.
However, soon after, Tony Stark reached his destination. He reminded Steve, "Captain, I wish you a successful mission."
After Tony left the elevator, the woman gave a few curious glances to Captain America but didn't seem to recognize him.
This made Tony Stark, watching from outside the video, chuckle and say, "See, I told you, Steve has become a has-been. He returned to the place of his birth, and no one can recognize him."
Nebula, on the other hand, said seriously, "No, I think the woman in the elevator recognized him."
In the video, Tony continued on his mission, entering the secure file room. He quickly found the safe containing the Tesseract.
The lock on the safe was very secure, but under the high-energy laser of the Tony suit, it was cut open like a piece of paper, and the second Tesseract was successfully obtained!
With the Tesseract secured, Tony Stark was about to leave when something unexpected happened.
A middle-aged man in a suit suddenly appeared and called out someone's name. Tony Stark glanced at him and was stunned. He recognized the middle-aged man as his deceased father, Howard Stark.
This wasn't entirely surprising, as the quiz game revealed early on that Tony Stark's father was one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D., so his presence in this base was normal.
This meeting between father and son across decades, in a place and time that didn't quite match, was a strange occurrence.
Tony Stark took a few steps but was stopped by Howard, who called him, "Hey, the exit's this way."
Tony Stark had no choice but to approach. Howard mentioned that he was looking for Dr. Zola and asked if Tony had seen him.
He didn't doubt Tony Stark's identity. This was a S.H.I.E.L.D. base, on top of a U.S. military base. Who would think a daring thief from several decades in the future would come here to steal something?
Moreover, this thief came from several decades later. As Tony Stark walked, he almost tripped over a chair. He was nervous and excited.
Howard felt that the other person looked familiar: "Do I know you?"
"Uh, no, sir, I'm a visitor from MIT." Tony Stark took out the ID he had prepared and gave himself the pseudonym Potts.
Howard had no doubts and took the initiative to shake hands with him. Tony Stark looked particularly nervous. Even outside the lightscreen video, Tony Stark was also a little nervous. He subconsciously rubbed his hands and took a deep breath several times.
He used to be a rebellious boy. It was not until he lost his parents forever that he understood what a father's love was like.
The opportunity to make amends now is there, even if it's just a handshake, even if it's just his future self in the video, which would also be exciting for Tony Stark.
Seeing his nervous appearance, Thor said with emotion: "I understand how you feel right now, Tony."
Tony Stark just watched the lightscreen video and remained silent. In the video, Howard suggested that he should go out with him to get some fresh air.
It stands to reason that after getting the
Space stone, the task is completed, and he should slip away quietly.
But now he had the opportunity to be alone with his father. After a slight hesitation, Tony Stark nodded and agreed. He was so excited and nervous that he even forgot about the box containing the Tesseract until Howard reminded him.
