Chapter 288 - Kang the conquerer

In the video, the behind-the-scenes mastermind who finally appeared, the he who remains, turned out to be an ordinary-looking guy, who, apart from being a bit talkative and bizarre, lacked the aura of a big boss.

But to be fair, the guy was quite polite, treating the two Lokis like guests and offering them drinks.

He then praised Sylvie's bravery and determination, after all these years of hiding and going through hardships, they had finally found their way here. As for the Loki, he was just a hitchhiker, nothing more.

Of course, not being left behind as a hitchhiker was already quite an achievement.

Tony Stark chuckled, "A hitchhiker? Well, that analogy is quite accurate!"

Upon careful consideration, it was indeed the case. After being captured, Loki hadn't done anything significant except help Mobius find Sylvie.

Sylvie was the one who diverted attention and uncovered the truth. Their ability to find their way here ultimately relied on Sylvie's possession ability. Loki was nothing more than a hitchhiker.

Naturally, Loki was not happy about it, but the next moment, he widened his eyes.

In the video, the guy pulled out a file containing all the conversations between the two Lokis since they entered his office!

"I know everything about you. Of course, I knew you would come here long before you did. I know everything, and I see all!" He produced two wrinkled sheets of paper, showing them to the two Lokis. It indeed recorded their words since they arrived here.

"This is just a little trick!" Loki sneered, showing disbelief. As the God of Mischief, he could pull off such tricks under prepared circumstances.

Sylvie, naturally, was even more unwilling to believe it.

The guy chuckled and asked them why he could teleport and dodge their attacks so precisely without the Time Twister.

"You have a Time Twister!" Female Loki saw through his reliance with one glance.

The guy shrugged and admitted to it. But then he asked them how he could control the Time Twister so precisely, evading her every attack.

Scott Lang, seeing this, raised his hand and asked, "Guys, I'm a bit confused. Is the Time Twister that tablet-like device? Did the agents use this before? Can someone tell me, holding the Time Twister, how hard is it to continuously dodge Loki's attacks?"

Tony Stark shrugged, "How do I explain this to someone who doesn't understand any scientific principles? You have to know that the Time Twister is not the Space Stone; theoretically, it can't provide teleportation abilities. The reason it can appear to teleport is that it manipulates time. Based on the information about the Time Twister we've seen before, they need to input data in advance to use it effectively. In other words, this man probably didn't lie; he did know in advance that the Lokis would come here, so he could input that data to ensure he wouldn't be attacked or killed."

Scott Lang rolled his eyes and quipped, "Seriously, Stark, can you be a bit more polite in your explanations? We're all superheroes, after all!"

Tony Stark looked at him in surprise, "What?, Did I offend you somehow? This is how I treat everyone; I'm just straightforward, I don't lie, No matter how I look at you, you're someone who doesn't understand science, right?"

Scott Lang sighed, "Honestly, you only grew up healthy and well because you were born into a wealthy family!"

Hank Pym sneered, "The Stark family are rotten; there's no need to waste words on him."

Tony Stark spread his hands, turned away, and continued watching the video.

Meanwhile, Loki stood by with his arms crossed, wearing a cold smile.

In the video, the two Lokis fell into silence. They were both smart, and Sylvie had even attempted to assassinate the guy before, but he had evaded her every time.

They realized that what this guy had just said might be true; he might genuinely have known all of this in advance!

The guy also mentioned the love story of the two Lokis on the apocalyptic planet, further confirming what he had said earlier.

Sylvie took a deep breath, "No, we broke your rules, that's why we're here!"

The guy chuckled and said, "You're wrong, very wrong. Every step of your journey to get here, whether it's Lamentis or the Void, was all planned by me! You merely walked through it. See, everything that's left is here, and everything that's about to happen, this is the only possibility."

He pulled out a box from under his desk, containing thick stacks of paper detailing everything the two Lokis had done since they arrived.

The Lokis looked at each other, unable to hide their amazement and confusion.

Sylvie couldn't accept this outcome. After all these years of trying her best to break free from being manipulated, to finally find a glimmer of hope in her fight, only to be told that it was all part of a game!

The path was preordained, so what were all her efforts for?

At this moment, both Lokis couldn't help but feel frustrated and humiliated. What was supposed to be a heroic battle against an evil manipulator had turned into a ridiculous puppet show.

Outside the video, countless viewers were also dumbfounded, as the plot's development once again took them by surprise.

"Ha, what's this? I was just rooting for them, waiting for them to defeat the mastermind behind this and set all the timelines free. And now you're telling me it was all prearranged?"

"To be honest, I'm disappointed in this mastermind; he looks like a street thug instead of a great being above time!"

"But you can't deny that this guy indeed has some skills. No matter how clever Loki is, he's still been arranged by him quite plainly. I just don't understand why he's doing this."

"Is it for amusement? To give them hope and then shatter it, making the Lokis suffer in the deepest despair?"
