Chapter 281 - Kid Loki, Old Man Loki, boastful Loki and Crocodile Loki?

Tony Stark felt somewhat regretful that he couldn't hear Loki say those three words himself.

Loki rolled his eyes, but before he could respond, he saw himself in the video being ambushed from behind. In the end, he couldn't say those words and was erased.

The one who attacked him was the female judge Ravonna. Earlier, Sylvie had just knocked her down, but she didn't die, and now she backstabbed Loki.

Loki's death didn't come as a surprise, given the previous questions and answers had already hinted that Loki would be pruned.

It's just a bit regrettable. Tony shook his head and said, "Really, why couldn't they have killed him after Loki said those three words? At least give this love story a proper ending."

Scott Lang shrugged and said, "Love is sometimes filled with regrets; this is also a kind of ending."

Loki furrowed his brows, "No, I can't accept this kind of death. I shouldn't have died so easily!"

Tony Stark scoffed, "Come on, we all saw it. Maybe you need to rewatch it?"

Just then, the video cuts to a scene where the already-pruned Loki suddenly opens his eyes. He looked around at the devastated city, some of the buildings still familiar.

Nick Fury raised an eyebrow, "Loki didn't die? The place he's in looks a bit like New York City?"

In addition to what seemed to be a ruined New York, Loki also saw several peculiar individuals - a child, a black man, an old man, all showing confident expressions, and the child was holding a crocodile.

What's noteworthy is that both the old man and the crocodile had horned headpieces, which was Loki's signature helmet!

The video ended at this point, revealing some of the truth while leaving behind more mysteries.

"Just who are those people and the crocodile? What's their connection to Loki?' Tony Stark mused, rubbing his chin. 'I have a daring guess, guys. Do you think they might also be Lokis?"

Hank Pym pondered, " I'm thinking maybe we've all been wrong before, stuck in a misconception. Capturing time criminals like Loki doesn't necessarily mean killing them, or perhaps, it's a different kind of death that we can't understand yet."

Tony Stark nodded, "I get it now. According to this theory, the extra time branchings are all garbage, including parallel Lokis, so Loki, being pruned, doesn't mean he died directly; instead, he was thrown into this garbage bin?"

Loki sneered, "What a ridiculous analogy!"

Tony Stark spread his hands, 'But you must admit, what I said might very well be the truth. Being thrown into a garbage bin at least gives you a chance to crawl out, doesn't it?'

Nick Fury nodded, 'Tony has a point. Those peculiar individuals at the end of the video could be Lokis from other parallel timelines.'

Scott Lang chimed in, 'True if there's a Lady Loki, why not other Lokis? Like that crocodile. If it were me, it would be quite strange to accept that another version of myself from a parallel universe turned into a crocodile. It's truly bizarre.'

Tony Stark couldn't help but muse, 'Who would have thought that on this day, we'd see so many Lokis? crocodile Loki, kid Loki, old Loki, I'm afraid I'll dream of you when I go to sleep, Loki.'

Loki smirked, 'That's your privilege, Tony.'

At this point, the screen presented a new question: [In the Void, who lives the longest?]

[A: Old Loki

B: Short-tailed Crocodile Loki

C: Kid Loki

D: Black guy Loki]

Scott Lang saw the question and couldn't help but laugh, 'This question is pretty simple, right? It must be Old Loki because he's the oldest Loki!'

Tony Stark said, 'Why do you always forget? Okay, you're a newcomer, but haven't we answered quite a few questions by now? Shouldn't we have some insights?'

Scott Lang paused for a moment, then said, 'I see it now. The most unreasonable answer is probably the correct one! So, this question should be... Kid Loki?'

'Perhaps,' Tony Stark shrugged. 'Or it could be Short-tailed Crocodile Loki?'

Nick Fury reminded, 'If I remember correctly, crocodiles, at most, live for a little over a hundred years, right?'

Loki chuckled, 'Crocodile? No, he is Crocodile Loki, a mere mortal like you can't understand the lifespan of a god with your laughable reasoning.'

Hank Pym glanced at him, 'How would you choose?'

Loki grinned, 'What if I told you I would choose kid Loki... would you believe me?'

Hank Pym just shrugged. He knew that the God of Mischief couldn't be trusted, but he also had no confidence in this question. They had very little information to analyze after seeing so many Lokis on stage just now, and the quiz game didn't give them much time to think.

The players had to press the answer button, and this time, the right to answer fell to Hank Pym. He raised an eyebrow and said, 'Luck seems to have come at the wrong time. I choose B.'

He had more confidence in the previous questions, but none for this one. Unfortunately, he ended up answering.

Scott Lang and Tony Stark followed suit with their choices both chose D, and as for Nick Fury, he chose D as well. As for Loki, he was as unpredictable as he had claimed, making his choice C.

This time, all three small groups chose different options.

However, when the correct answer was revealed, they all got it wrong!

[The correct answer is: Old Loki]

[Player Hank Pym answered incorrectly, deducting 4 points. Players Tony Stark, Nick Fury, Scott Lang, and Loki Laufeyson also answered incorrectly, deducting 1 point each]

'Sheesh!' Scott Lang buried his head in his hands. 'If I had gone with my initial thought, I would have answered it correctly! Hank, you should have trusted me this time; it would have been a +4 instead of -4!'

Hank Pym glanced at him and sighed, 'You couldn't even make up your mind; why should I trust you?'

He had a hunch that this question would likely be a trap since he had no confidence in it. It turned out his hunch was right.

Tony Stark said, 'We've been tricked again. Our so-called experience doesn't count for much here, and sometimes it even makes us stumble. Fortunately, I didn't hit the buzzer first.'

While they discussed it, the screen began playing the video revealing the correct answer.
