Chapter 639 - Increased Difficulty in Answering Questions

The audience had already watched and delved into the life experiences of the other two Spider-Men.

In comparison, this Spider-Man—referred to as Iron Man's "adopted son" and the Avengers' favorite, the second Spider-Man (Holland's version)—had been featured in the trivia game before, but with limited screen time. As a result, people didn't know much about him.

All they knew was that Peter (Holland'sversion) was the only one among the three Spider-Men to fight alongside the Avengers. Iron Man treated him as his own, and he tragically sacrificed himself at a young age during the battle against Thanos.

When viewers first saw the video of him lying on Iron Man's chest, tearfully saying, "I don't want to die," countless female viewers were overcome with maternal instincts and cried their hearts out.

Before this, Holland version's Spider-Man had been more popular in the audience's eyes compared to Tobey's version. After all, he had the support of iconic Avengers like Iron Man and Captain America, and his sacrificial scene was incredibly moving. This even led to some idle debates about the "authentic" and "knockoff" Spider-Men.

Naturally, Holland version's Spider-Man was labeled as the "authentic" one, while Tobey's Spider-Man was considered the "knockoff." Back then, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man hadn't yet made an appearance.

However, after audiences learned about the life experiences of Tobey's and Andrew's versions, they no longer thought that way. Regardless of the timeline, every Spider-Man was a respectable superhero and a friendly neighborhood masked vigilante. Now, revisiting young Peter videos piqued their interest even more.

Compared to his two predecessors, the second Spider-Man was clearly more lively and talkative. In the video, he was recruited to participate in the Avengers' Civil War, yet he spent the entire time filming with his camera and acting like he was on a school field trip, carefree and cheerful.

His everyday interactions with Iron Man's friend, Happy, were also quite amusing, making the audience outside the video laugh out loud.

Stephen Strange glanced at the giggling child next to him, thinking to himself that kids' emotions come and go quickly. Moments ago, the child had been crying in fear, and now he was as calm as if nothing had happened.

It was clear, though, that Peter's personality was outgoing and energetic. If he ever decided to change careers and become a talk show host, he would undoubtedly be a star!

As the attention shifted back to the video, Peter was seen being personally dropped off by Tony after participating in the Avengers' Civil War.

At that moment, the video paused, and a new question appeared:

[Who recruited Spider-Man/ Peter Parker, to participate in the fight against Captain America]

[A: Tony Stark (Iron Man)

B: Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

C: Colonel James Rhodes (War Machine)

D: Happy Hogan]

Stephen Strange's eyes lit up. He thought, Isn't this a freebie question?

The future of the Avengers' Civil War had already been revealed in earlier trivia videos. Anyone who had seen them knew the background, participants, and the fact that Tony had personally recruited Peter, who was just a high school student at the time!

Pietro grinned. "Wow, this is like handing us points on a silver platter. Hey, kid, remember to hit the buzzer with us when the timer starts!"

However, the screen didn't display a buzzer countdown. Instead, another line of text appeared:

[This question is restricted to Team A. Answering correctly earns 3 points, while an incorrect answer deducts 3 points. Warning: Accumulating 3 negative points will trigger Level 1 penalties; 5 negative points will trigger Level 2 penalties; 8 negative points will trigger Level 3 penalties. Please answer carefully]

Stephen Strange's mouth twitched, and he shook his head. "The rules have changed again."

What seemed like a freebie question was now out of their reach.

Pietro looked equally disappointed. "Ah, answering correctly would've earned us 3 points without even needing to race for the buzzer… What a pity! Wait, Team A hasn't seen the future videos we have. They probably don't even know who Tony is… This isn't a freebie for them!"

Stephen said thoughtfully, "That's the issue. We and Team A come from different worlds. If they're being asked about things related to our world, it's only logical that we'll be asked about things from their world later. Without the proper intel, there's no guarantee we can answer correctly."

Team A, consisting of Magneto, Professor X, and Wolverine, exchanged uncertain looks. For them, this question was far from easy.

Erik frowned. He had participated in the previous trivia round and learned some information about the Marvel Universe, but his knowledge was limited.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "The Spider-Man we saw in the previous trivia video doesn't look like this one."

Charles spoke softly, "I've heard that there are three Spider-Men, each from a different parallel universe… just like how we've seen two different versions of Logan before."

Charles had recently visited the Multiverse Defenders's headquarters at Dr. Banner's invitation. There, he had met several Marvel superheroes, including Iron Man and Captain America. However, his interactions with them were limited. After thinking it over, he said cautiously, "I believe the answer should be Option A. The person who spoke to Peter in the car was Tony. From their conversation, it's clear that Happy, who greeted Peter, is Tony's friend and subordinate."

Charles had spent little time at the Multiverse Defenders's base and hadn't spoken much with Tony Stark, focusing instead on heroes like Batman, Captain America, Dr. Banner, and Thor. His understanding of Tony's relationships was vague, so he could only infer from the video's clues.

After a moment of contemplation, Erik nodded in agreement. "I have no objections. Logan, what do you think?"

Logan shrugged, his canine ears twitching as he replied bluntly, "I don't know." It was clear he was content to sit back and let the others decide.

Soon, the countdown for answering the question began—30 seconds. Erik pressed the button in front of him, answering on behalf of his team.

When the timer ended, the correct answer was revealed:

[Congratulations, Team A. Your answer is correct. Player Erik Lehnsherr, player Charles Xavier, and player Logan Howlett each earn 3 points!]

Charles let out a sigh of relief, and Erik smiled with satisfaction. It was a good start, earning 3 points right away.

Logan, however, seemed unimpressed. With a flick of his hand, he muttered, "I've got a bad feeling about this round. If they keep making us answer questions about another world, the chances of us messing up are too high!"
