Chereads / Waves: A Little Mistaken Fate / Chapter 39 - Framed.

Chapter 39 - Framed.

Chaniel, Greg and Eugene can be seen staring at each other. Chaniel with a smirk, Greg with eyes that were sizing Eugene up and Eugene with an emotionless expression.

It was a bit awkward but Eugene raised his left arm and shut his palm close. This gesture signaled every student who was armed and pointing their weapons at the visitors to lower their weapons and keep watch.

Chaniel seeing such response to his gesture had her eyes widened in impression while Greg was still analysing his environment.

This was so as the whole school knew that it was Eugene and his crew who were the ones who risked their lives to protect them. So, subconsciously, they already considered him to be some sort of a leading figure over them.

The horror of that very day did became an unforgettable memory to everyone especially, to those who it was their first time to see people get injured by a bullet, hear people scream in agony due to the pain they are going through.

As well as those who screamed in fear of not knowing what next is about to happen. Being their first to experience hope, fear and helplessness all at once.

On that very day, the event took a toll on them. This made them to raise their guard up as they finally accepted the fact that they were living in an environment that could turn into a battlefield at any time.

They had in mind that their lives were at stake. They were now experiencing how life is, during any period or era of war.

Suggestions like, why don't they change their schools, comes in mind but as you can see, this is due to they all have low standards of living and the owner was able to make the fees affordable for them and their parents.

We all know that even in the ghetto and slums, their are still kids that dream of making it out by securing a talent or affinity of being excellent in their education.

Another question is, why won't the authorities interfere? Of course, a congressman owns the school and has the institution as a political advantage as he breeds potential gang leaders from the institution and the government have yet to see a threat rise from the institute.

Eugene then finally broke the silence and asked the duo, "what brings Miss Cotton Candy and The Moving Riot to this very school, if I may ask?"

"Oh nothing, just my curiosity getting the best of me. Let me just ask, the Grieving Emperor Of Rosetown, Grey Eugene, what is the reason of your uprising?" Chaniel asked as she has her eyes narrowed and ready to analyse any answer given to her.

"Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the ranking list. I am after a soul and the freedom of a dear friend." Said Eugene with much indifference in his voice and in his facial expression.

"Then, why did you go after my members, even to the extent of killing one of my girls." Chaniel asked with a frown.

"Sorry, I don't know what you are talking about." Eugene replied being shocked at what he heard but still didn't change his expressionless facial expression.

Chaniel sighs before explaining her claims, "on the night of 29th August, seven of my girls' family got assaulted and one among them was killed. According to their report, they said that after the action was done, the assaulters said and I quote,

"don't blame me, we were ordered by the Grieving Emperor to do such but anyways, do tell your leader the we are coming for her position next". Do you have anything to say about that?"

"Do you have anything against the Albion Group?" Eugene asked after he got lost in a deep thought for some few moments.

"Why do you ask?" Chaniel asked in an angry tone as she was annoyed by Eugene's answer to her question.

"I have a grudge with the Dirty Crowns Gang. They have their hands occupied with a rival and are strategically using you to erase me and have I ever done such during my past glory days?" Eugene gave his mind as he heaved a sigh.

"Why would they even bother to stop you when the gang is capable to handle you in an instant and....."

"He has a grudge with the Dirty Crowns Gang and their rivals might recruit him to foster their manpower. Milestones Corporation, Fraque Lin Alpetol, Owls Crew and more corporations are ready to do so, support him, have him rise above the rankings and take down 30 percent of the Albion Group's resources, the Dirty Crowns Gang." Greg cuts in before Chaniel could finish her statement and gave further explanation on what is going on.

"Oh fuck. So you are saying that his uprising dragged us to a whole new level of business politics and power struggles?" Chaniel questions Greg as she got annoyed by the explanation.

"Not just us but every single gang there is. Now that foreign firms, groups and corporations have laid low, the internal wars have just resumed. Our existence was already fated to get us dragged into this and it isn't his fault." Greg explained the more.

"So what do you think we should do, now that the misunderstanding is cleared up?" Chaniel asked.

"All I can think of is having your guard up and watch out for anymore tactics they could have against you. That's all I can say for now because I don't have enough intel about them." Eugene suggests.

"I guess so. Since I have gotten what I want from this visit, have this as a token of being on neutral grounds with each other." Said Chaniel as she throws a lollipop at Eugene, waved her hand as a gesture for saying goodbye, hopped onto Greg's bike as she sat behind Greg before Greg then rode off.

Eugene watched the two ride off before turning around and stared at the number of students that had all their eyes on him and slowly closed his eyes while giving a nod simultaneously.

As they observed his gesture, the students knew that things turned out alright and let go of their guard while Eugene slowly walks back to his class.
