Chapter 21 - The Escape

"Then, all of a sudden, a million dollar request came to our gang. The client was really pressuring us with the amount he was trying to pay us, if we carried out the mission.

It looks more like he was desperate, so that was more of a reason that we had to act cautious and made deeper research, even in the dark web.

Surprisingly, we saw posters about our target, and yes, the target had a bounty on its head.

His name, Albion Carl Abel, aka the favourite son. Despite him being young, he had some prowess over the world under us and is quite a young business tycoon, who is said to be way better than his father in every aspect.

He is more; intelligent, dangerous, domineering, tactical, lethal and overall, he has the cute and innocent look to cover it all up.

Seeing such magnificent result, we in the inner circle was against carrying out the task, especially, if it has to do with business and national politics.

We all are in agreement to not go for it but Stacy wanted to take the mission up, even if it had to be her all alone.

So, Axel did whatever he wanted anyways, but first made a front, secret attack, by having someone in the Vincestreet district to assassinate him using the sniper. After using our researches to find his location and guess what? That was where you came in.

Abel survived that and went into hiding, only for him to make the worst decision, which is to hide within the streets of Virandel, Rosetown City's most quiet and beautiful district, which was as well, under our control.

Due to our check-up in our extended, coverup businesses, we were able to find out that he purchased a lot of necessary needs to survive and through his steady three day bookings, we had his location. Right there at that moment, Axel decided that it would be frontal attack, during midnight.

Having no option, we were able to get blinded by the price money and went in for the kill. That night, the unexpected happened, especially for me.

As we headed into the dorms where he stayed, we did barge in not knowing that Abel was one step ahead.

Andrew was in front of us all, and behind was Axel. As Andrew opened up the door, a barrage of bullets was released onto us.

As heartless Axel was, he took up Andrew as a meat shield and was able to get us all in a secured spot. To our surprise, our target wasn't in the dorm. To be more precise, he knew that we were coming.

That day, we lost Andrew. During the whole exchanging of bullets, I cuddled up behind the wall and fortunately, I found a chance to escape, which I was able to use.

On my way out, it was horrible for my taste as I saw dead bodies all around, as well as having to see the gore scenes up close.

It was a day that traumatized me and always sent down creeps into my spine. The day is stored like an everlasting memory in my brain, as I can't get it out neither can I not remember it, detail by detail.

I didn't appreciate the idea of killing anyone, but I had to do so to survive. Well, that wasn't actually the reason that I dropped off.

As I sneaked out from the scene, I was covered in blood with a pistol on my hand and the first person to greet me on the hallway was a friend of mine in the same class.

She saw me as she tried running off from her room in the building. She was really dumbfounded and her voice cracked while calling out my name.

Of course, I tried explaining but unfortunately, there was no more sounds of gunshots and I could hear multiple footsteps heading my way from behind.

Just as Axel and the team stepped out, my friend freaked out and called out Axel's name in shock.

Axel stared right into her eyes and looked down towards me and told me to kill her. That suddenly got me to my feet as I exclaimed at him in shock, answering back at him with a "what!?"

He came close to me and whispered into my ear, saying, "remember Velma, no.... witnesses." He raised up my right arm, which held the gun, and positioned it towards my friend as he told me to shoot, once again.

My arm began trembling as tears could be seen dripping down from my eyes and as my friend noticed what was happening, she suddenly took to her feet and ran down the hallway.

Noticing her movements, Axel suddenly pointed his gun towards my friend's direction, my body acted in its own and smacked his gun away from his hand.

With anger, Axel suddenly gave me a knockout punch to the floor, only for me to wake up in a room, which was obviously a girl's own.

I turned over to the other side to see Stacy sleeping beside me, locking her arms around a picture.

I was a bit shocked seeing her beside me, but I didn't mind as the picture she held attracted my attention more.

I was able to slip out the picture from her grasp and got to see Stacy's little sister. While staring at the picture, all of a sudden, Stacy spoke up saying, "she is just cute like an angel right?"

Her speaking up while I thought she was sleeping got me freaked out, but after calming down a little bit, I answered back in agreement with what she said.

She let out a smile and continued, "don't worry, I was able to help Emily escape."

Hearing her said that got me all relieved till she spoke up again saying, "that wasn't for free though." Just as I turned to look at her, her lips attacked mine and I couldn't resist....."

"More like you didn't resist." Eugene cuts in while giving Velma the doubt expression.

"Hehe, you could say that too. Anyways, we both made out that night, but that night's shootout still got me traumatized that I didn't go to school the next three days.

Then, the day I resumed school, during break, Axel angrily barged into the class and came straight to my desk, slammed his two palms on it and stared daggers right at me.

His voice was really filled with anger as he spoke to me, saying, " your mistake did put us in a risk and all you could do is to get holed up in your house, feeling traumatized.

If I even find out that you are having the idea of escaping from the gang, I'll find you to the ends of the earth and I'll make sure you have a horrible death, after all, I can't seem to resist you, you are irresistible and you already know too much."

His message scared the shit out of me and I watched him in fear, while he left the classroom.

Just as he went out, Stacy walked up to me, consoled me and advised me to make a run for it. To be precise, she was the one who gave me the idea of coming to this city.

Well, I confessed to my parents about everything and convinced them to relocate, which they did.... Seems like we have arrived." As Velma pointed out, they both looked around the school courtyard, only to find out that it was dismissal.

Confirming so, Eugene turned to her saying, "I guess that is it for today. I got to go now, catch you later."

Velma responded with a nod and a smile while she sees him off.

"Seems like you guys had a lot of talking, hmm?" Jixie asked as she comes towards Velma from behind.

"Yeah, it seems that we have a similar enemy." Velma replies as she turns back towards Jixie.

"Hey, our deal was to lay low, wasn't it?" Jixie asked as she frowned , feeling a bit annoyed.

"Don't worry about it, I won't be too hard on myself. Now, let's go home, shall we?" Velma replied with a giggle and they both headed home.
