Chapter 15 - Almost a Kiss.

Coming home from visiting Ray. The first thing Alena went to when she entered the room was to pick up the bracelet she had put in a small box in her desk drawer. The bracelet that Ray gave her that time.

"Does he really care about me?" Alena looked at the bracelet in her hand. "I still don't understand what he's thinking and what he's feeling…" Alena threw herself to the side. Still staring at the bracelet Ray gave him. "You're confusing me, Ray Dixon..."

Elena took a deep breath. "I wish I could do something..."

Elena sat on the bed. Staring at the bracelet Ray gave her. The confusion about her feelings for Ray and the more kindness he gave her, as well as the unpleasant things that Leanne always got from Ray.

On the other hand, Alena was happy because she could be close to Ray. Become a boyfriend she likes and get special attention. However, every time she imagined Ray's cold attitude towards Leanne. All of that gave Alena a painful lash. If Ray knew the truth if Ray found out that she lied to him about the real her. Will Ray still want to be friends with her?

Three days later, Ray returned to school with a face that was no longer pale. Ray is back to being like before, a cold and indifferent man who is increasingly being craved by many girls. A lot of people gave out chocolates, gifts, and something they could give Ray. However, as usual, Ray always refused all the gifts with a cold attitude that was much worse than before.

And what made Alena surprised by all that happened, was when she opened her locker, she found there were lots of chocolates and gifts in there. Several piles of letters filled her locker. Is this a demo because Ray refuses all the gifts fans give him?

Alena snorted, irritated by what had happened. Why should she? Indeed they thought she was Ray's personal servant. Annoyed, Alena took all the chocolates, gifts, and letters and put them in her bag.

Alena immediately went to the infirmary—a place where Ray must have been—and sure enough, Ray was sleeping with Jill. "Ray, wake up!" She was annoyed. She shook Ray's arm, causing him to wake up.

"Hmm, what's wrong?" Ray muttered.

Jill, who had been sleeping since then, was surprised by the sound that Alena made. The man woke up with a big yawn. "Hey, what's this?"

"Get up, you must come with me. Now." Alena said with an affirmation that made Ray glare at her, confused.

"What is it?"

"Just follow." Alena grabbed Ray's arm and took him to the roof. She glanced at Jill, who sat frozen like a fool in bed.

"H-hey, where are you guys going?!" Jill exclaimed.

Arriving at the roof, Alena pushed her heavy bag towards Ray until the man stumbled backward.

"W-whoa!" Ray exclaimed, feeling heavy with the bag now in his hand. "What's this? you filled it with stones huh?" Ray grumbled.

"Open it," Alena ordered. Her arms are crossed in front of her chest.

Ray complied and opened Alena's bag. How surprised he was when he saw that there were so many gifts in it. Ray looked at Alena with a questioning face.

"It's a gift from all the fans that you always refuse. I found it in my locker," Alena said while confirming the last sentence.

"What?"

"Yeah, you know exactly what I mean Ray," said Alena furiously. I don't know where he got the courage to talk so freely with Ray.

"They bother you with this? I've already told them I don't like excessive gifts like this."

"Oh, too much? Ray, you're now a popular magazine model. It's natural for people to want to give you gifts. And you shouldn't reject it like that," Alena snapped. "Appreciate what they have gone to great lengths to do for you. You don't know the truth behind it, do you? Who knows, they might buy a gift for you out of pocket money. Or they painstakingly make the chocolate with their own hands. If you really don't like it, at least accept it and after that, you can do whatever you want. Make them happy Ray. That is it. Don't be disappointed in the kindness people give you."

Ray was silent, the man looked at Alena with a face that was difficult to interpret. Was Ray touched? Angry? Or worse, hate Alena?

"S-sorry, I didn't mean to patronize you, Ray. I... I just—"

"Come here," Ray ordered. The expression on his face was so flat, that it made Alena feel worried.

With heavy steps, Alena walked toward Ray. Her body jolted in shock as she felt a flick on her forehead. Her eyes widened perfectly, looking at Ray who was laughing a little.

"Where did you learn to say that? You're just like my mother," Ray said, not letting a smile leave his lips.

"What? Aren't you mad at me?"

"Not. It's the first time you've spoken to me after this. I'm glad you didn't distance yourself anymore." Ray's smile grew wider. "Should I be grateful for these gifts?" The temptation then.

Alena hit Ray's arm lightly. She blushed. "You really are annoying."

"You want one?" Ray took one chocolate from the bag. "If I spend it all I could die." He said with a crisp laugh.

Elena shook her head. "I don't want to be fat."

Ray laughed at Alena's statement. "At this rate, you look like a normal girl."

"Hey, you want to die huh?" Elena threatened. Her face was made up like someone who was furious.

"Try it, if you can," Ray challenged.

Ray ran, dropping the bag on the floor as Alena chased after him. The girl tried to catch Ray to beat him.

"Stop right there, Ray!" Alena exclaimed, chasing Ray who kept running to and fro like a child.

Ray laughed. "Do it more properly," he mocked.

"Watch out for you! I will really kill you if you get caught." Alena blocked Ray who was standing in front of a long chair made of wood.

Ray stood up straight, walked forward, and jumped over the lounger in front of him until he was standing right in front of Alena. The girl immediately froze when she found herself standing so close to him. He could feel Alena's gasping breath. "I came willingly for you to catch," he whispered softly.

Alena's heart was pounding, her breath was getting heavier. She could feel Ray's breath on her face. She Felt Ray's hands gently touching hers.

Ray tilted his head to the side. His face was getting closer to Alena's face. The girl closed her eyes, gripping Ray's shirt tightly.

The two of them were able to feel each other's hearts pounding like war drums. Feeling the breath that burned Alena's face. The girl's body froze with nervousness.

"I'm tired..." Ray whispered on Alena's face.

Alena's body shuddered when she felt Ray's warm breath against her face. her eyes were open, blushing at the strange thought of what Ray was going to do. Her face is now red. "M-Me too…"

Ray pulled away, turned his face to the side, and saw Alena's red face made him unable to stand it. Awkwardly, he grabbed Alena's arm and led her down from the roof. "We'd better go downstairs to get some drinks," he muttered without looking at Alena.
