Chapter 18 - Something Suspicious

In this battle, Raul must succeed in dragging Christ's spirit to remain in the astral dimension. The stakes are very important because Raul is more concerned with Liza's safety.

If Raul can keep Christ's spirit here until the chain linking the spirit with Christ's physical body fuses, it means Raul wins, Christ's spirit cannot return and Christ becomes a permanent resident of the astral dimension. But if Raul fails to contain Christ's spirit, it means Christ will return to the human world to find Liza's whereabouts.

Actually, abstinence for the spirit of a white witch like Raul drags the human spirit that is still alive to stay in the astral dimension. Because it is tantamount to killing because it separates the spirit from the body. But for Liza's safety, Raul would still do it.

TANG! DUAG! TANG!

The sound of Christ's sword clashing with Raul's magical blow sounded out. Equally hard, just as strong, and equally devastating.

For a spirit that is almost out of limit, Christ turns out to be quite tough too. Even Raul, who incidentally is a proud warrior of the descendants of the purple-eyed white witch, of course he also has qualified magic skills and abilities.

'Unlucky! I have to get out of here quickly before my time runs out! If only I had brought the elixir to prolong my stay here from the King, maybe I could beat this man up and take him as my hostage!'

Instead of attacking, now Christ tends to be more resistant to attacks. He thought Raul would be easier to beat quickly, but apparently not. Raul wasn't that weak and it would definitely take time to overthrow him. So Christ switched plans.

'I have to go back now!'

So while trying to withstand the attack, he used his other hand to reach for something from the pocket of his inner robe. Then throw it on the ground until...

BWUUSHHH!

It then emitted thick white smoke. Blocking Raul's view to attack.

"Tch! Smoke bomb!" Raul growled as he closed his eyes and tried to wave his hands in front of his face, trying to get rid of the smoke so it wouldn't gather and enter his eyes.

Christ then took the opportunity to escape. But Raul had realized that and jumped as much as possible up to reach the atmosphere that was not covered by the smoke.

And above Raul saw a faint light from above, coming out of the puff of smoke at high speed. It must be Christ's spirit that is about to return to the human world by following the direction of the chain linking his body.

But when Raul was about to slide into the gate to stop Christ, he suddenly felt a tug all over his body. What turned out to be...

"Stop it, Raul!"

A burly man with a thick golden beard and a dress similar to Raul's appeared. He is Raul and Adera's father, Anthony. He came to prevent his son from following Christ with his magic power which was shaped like a rope that bound Raul's body.

"D-Dad? But that human..."

"You must not violate taboos, Raul. Spirits, should not drag a living spirit to live here. If you violate it, the Almighty will punish you!" he insisted.

Ignoring the advice, Raul shook his head. "But he's want to chase Sis Adera, Dad! I can't just let it go, or Sis Adera will die!"

"No, Raul! You mustn't meddle with the cursed child! He's dangerous! Even if you're strong, you can't fight him!" said Anthony again. Then dragged the boy home.

Meanwhile, in another place, Liza is still with the members of the Universe Rescue Team, still struggling with the fall of Miss Green.

"Are we going to continue our journey while Miss Green is sick? Can't we just wait for her to recover?" asked one of the Team members very anxiously.

The Team Leader—Pablo, the burly man with a dark brown mane and sideburns with dark brown irises answered with a firm nod.

"We have no choice. Nothing can cure her illness, that's a sign that Aisha isn't stricken with an ordinary illness. We need Denise's help, so we have to get back to Pertisoum as soon as possible."

Liza looked at Anthony curiously and was also surprised. "De-Denise? And who is Aisha? What is this child's name—oh I mean this lady?"

"Yes. Denise." Peter then answered. "She is Miss Aisha's sister. And Aisha is Miss Green."

"But... Denise is really hard to find, is it? interrupted Peter worriedly. "She wasn't even seen again half a year ago. I doubt she'll be back any time soon."

"Then do you have any other solution to treat it, Peter? Hum?" Pablo fiercely stared with narrowed sharp eyes.

Peter fell silent. In his heart, he felt frantic. On the other hand, he was very worried about Aisha. But besides that, he also couldn't stay silent when all the crew put their hopes on Denise.

While the two men were arguing, Liza idly tried to see the crystal of light that was on Aisha's body. Blinks his eyes rapidly three times. And a beautiful light crystal appeared bright yellowish green. But the light is unstable. Sometimes it glows brightly, then dims. And so on.

"Could it be that he was struck by magic?" Liza muttered lowly. Then try to hold the back of the child's hand. Putting into practice what Liza has learned from magic books.

But when Liza started to try screening, surprisingly she didn't encounter any dense clouds or anything that interfered with Aisha's energy path. In the past, she could dispel the dark mist on Christ's energy path, but now Liza can't do that because she can't find what is making Aisha sick.

"Prepare to leave. After this storm is over we must move quickly. I ask for her cooperation to prepare the needs of Miss Green so that she can be brought safely," Pablo said firmly.

Simultaneously the group who were there also answered. "Okay, Sir!"

After a few minutes of preparation, they met at the meeting point. Bring along the horses too. Putting their belongings in the carriage drawn by the horses.

In addition, they also prepare horses for mounts. Each horse is filled by two people. And Peter, who was lucky to be alone, also invited Liza to go ride his horse.

"Sorry, I'm so troublesome," said Liza as she was about to ride on Peter's white horse.

The man smiled as he helped Liza up. "It's okay, Miss Liza. It's our mission to save each other and the environment, so we're used to helping lost people like you. So I, Yuki, and Ricky will take you to the Bernsbergh border."

"We also have Pak Pablo's permission to take you there. So there's no need to worry."

After all, Ricky and I are the only ones who have ice-picking reindeer to pave the way to Bernsberg," said Yuki, the girl with two braids.

Liza glanced at Ricky and Yuki's deer. The two animals looked big and strong. With their large and sturdy antlers, the deer are certainly capable of breaking ice very well.

Then Liza turned back to Yuki and Ricky. "Thank you. I will never forget your help."

The group was divided into two groups. The large group continued to Pertisoum. Meanwhile, Peter's group took Liza to Bernsbergh. Only then would they go after Pertisoum.

Starting down the snowy road, they tried to break through the snow that was getting heavier and heavier. It's a bit of a pain, let alone the road to Bernsbergh.

Until they reached the umpteenth incline, the four of them found a strange mound of snow that was barked by several dogs. The mound was exactly at the edge of the next incline.

The others chose to be indifferent, but Liza grabbed Peter's arm to stop the horse.

Then without warning, Liza went straight down. Approach the dogs and look at the mound. And because her curiosity was growing, Liza took the initiative to find a wooden stick to touch and clean the snow mound.

It wasn't until Liza's wand touched something soft that she gasped and started digging harder and harder to dig the mound. Until something surprising appears...

"Oh My Gosh!"

To be continued.
