"Quick! The princess will be arriving in a few minutes!" Said by the woman on the beach. Her tone were laced with pure excitement as she urged every ladies to get ready.
There were exactly seven women on the beach. Including the old woman who were most excited among them.
The young ladies lined up. One of them carrying warm towels.
"Look! There they are!" One of the girls exclaimed and pointed ahead.
Everyone looked at the direction and saw colorful tails appearing on the water's surface.
A few more seconds and beautiful mermaids with their beautiful tails came crawling to the beach. And only one stood out among them.
The princess of the water realm and the creatures of the water.
The mermaid princess whom they also call as Princess Jade.
The ladies on the beach quickly knelt down and bowed their heads to their princess. Allowing her to take her time as she began transforming into her human form.
The transformation is quite painful and unimaginable to everyone. It's unique for each of them.
The mermaid princess screeched as the pain of her beautiful tail slowly turns into delicate and slim legs.
One of the girls covered her with the large towel right away as she was left naked right after the painful transformation.
"Her royal highness is indeed a beauty as everyone claimed her to be!" One of the girls complimented and everyone nodded in agreement.
The old woman helped the princess of mermaids to stand up. But she was still new to her brand new legs so she fell down on the sand almost right away on her first step. She managed to stand up shakily after a few tries.
Satisfied. The mermaids who brought their princess to the ladies finally bid their farewell and swam back to the depths of the ocean.
The women brought the princess to the cabin and helped her to change into comfortable clothes.
The women on that island are also mermaids. They are the ones who had been living among humans to learn about them and to learn how to cope with them.
The race of the mermaids are starting to turn into peril due to the lack of males in their race. The pollution of the oceans only made their slow production worse.
So they've been sending out young mermaids to find someone to mate with. The offspring may turn out to be a half-blood, but they wanted to keep their race alive. They wanted to keep every tribe alive for the generations to come.
The princess of mermaids are one of the few pureblooded mermaids out there. While every women in the island are all half-bloods.
Pureblooded mermaids are also gifted with more abilities. The greater and powerful the family they came from, the more abilities they get as a trait.
They are also naturally born with long life that could help them live up more than a thousand years.
Princess Jade remains the top and most powerful pureblooded mermaid. She is known to every tribe and respected for not only her achievements but also because of her kindness and fair judgement.
It's only a matter of time before she is crowned as the Queen of the seven seas.
The princess was sent to land carrying a mission to finally learn about humans. This mission is very special for them. Yet dangerous at the same time.
Because many of them had failed in this mission. Their powers were abused for laboratory experiment and they have lost many purebloods because of it.
But they never lose hope because many still achieved success for the mission which is why there are now many half-blood mermaids from different tribes.
Princess Jade was taught every little things she needed to learn about humans. From the smallest to the biggest detail. Especially of what she must avoid the most.
As such mermaids like them exist. It's no question that other creatures other than humans also coexists and copes with them too. And they have to be careful for that.
Because if there are good people. There will also be bad people.
The princess was instructed to stay on the island for a month. So she can get used with her legs and use it well like a normal human. She also needed to be close to water for the time being until her human body is finally able to handle being away from water for a long time.
Unlike the half-bloods. Purebloods are very much obsessed to be in water as instinct. So the princess needed to control her obsession for that too. Not only is it just an obsession but it is also a necessary need for her to connect with water as she is new to land.
After three months. The princess is finally ready. She joined the old woman and rode a boat to the mainland.
To the city where the real world of the cruels and evils are located.
Jade was so mesmerized by every new thing she sees.
The vehicles. The billboards. The many people with legs. Different genders and different foods. Various jewelries and clothes. All in different bright colors.
There were too many things and Jade felt like crying due to the overwhelming feeling. She had never seen so many new things like this under the sea. Everything stays on the ground unlike in her world where everything floats.
"We are almost at my house. I'm sure you're gonna like it there!" The woman said and pulled the girl with her.
She literally dragged Jade like a little kid who are too overwhelmed by her surroundings.
It's been a while since the woman had stopped addressing her as her princess. Jade wanted to establish a close relationship with the halfbloods on the island so she decided to remove their ranking first. But of course, the respect and manners to her did not left.
The old woman is called Sarah. She brought Jade to her house in the city. She has had many fellow mermaids stay there from different tribes since she's been one of the few individuals in charge of taking care of the mermaids who are new to land.
A few days later. Sarah was glad to inform Jade that she had her enrolled to a university.
Jade already knows that a university is a place where she can study and learn varieties of interesting things and even meet new human friends.
Sarah introduced Jade to a half-blood mermaid who also goes in the same university. Her name is Vicky. They quickly got along and agreed to go to school together everyday.
On Jade's first day, Vicky struggled to keep up with her hyper energy. Jade kept running and saying hello to everyone who looks at her.
She was flashing her bright smile and Vicky was a bit worried that she might unconsciously use her powers on them.
It's also one of their abilities to seduce and trick people with their looks and their voice. It's part of their defense.
Eventually, Jade accidentally bumped to someone causing both of them to fall on the ground.
Vicky quickly ran to Jade and helped her stand up while she apologizes to the man whom Jade bumped into.
"I'm sorry! Are you alright?" Jade asked the man as she stood up with Vicky's help.
The man stood up. Eventually towering both of the girls and the two looked up to him like little kids asking their brother for a candy.
The man had dark raven hair that freely falls and covers his forehead. His skin are so pale but looks soft at the same time.
He has a prominent jawline and a naturally smily lips. His eyes were blue and Jade couldn't help but admit that it was the most prettiest eyes she had ever gazed upon.
The way those eyes were gazing back at her made her feel quite cold. But she finds herself locked in it anyway.
The man eventually flickered his eyes. Interrupting their almost endless staring battle.
He cleared up his throat and were obviously nervous while fidgeting with his fingers.
"Y-you're a transferee?" He asked but Jade didn't know what he meant by that. Not that she doesn't really know. She just doesn't know what the word transferee means.
"S-she is. I'm sorry she bumped into you! We'll get going!" Vicky said in a hurry and attempted to pull Jade with her.
"Wait!" The guy said and immediately grabbed Jade by her wrist.
She gasped at the sudden coldness that erupted in her body. But she didn't pull her hand back aggressively since the guy let her go immediately once he had gotten their attention.
"I uh..." he seemed to struggle to find the perfect words as he scratch on the back of his head.
And he somehow keeps zoning out like every minute.
"I'm uh... S-Samuel..." he said and offered his hand properly this time.
Jade giggled and immediately shook his hand. She is familiar with the gesture and even said that it's her favorite gesture from the humans.
"W-what's your name?" Samuel asked while they are still shaking hands.
"Oh! My name? My name is Jade Lia! You can call me Jade! And this is my friend Vicky! We're friends now, right?" She asked between her giggles as she keeps shaking Samuel's hand.
Vicky awkwardly laughed and decided to pull Jade's hand back. She was worried that Samuel might start thinking she's weird.
"So uh. I guess I'll see you later in class." Samuel said and smiled before he finally left.
Vicky decided to drag Jade because the girl proceeded to say hello to random people again. But in the back of her mind. She wonders why Samuel said he'll see them later in class. There are many classes in the university and Samuel can't possibly know if they're classmates, especially since she's a transferee and her classes is not decided yet.
