A small white Bunny hops it's way gently through a small meadow, it's tiny nose twitching periodically, looking for danger.
It's nose twitches, and twitches again, it's head darts toward an isolated corner of the meadow, where a small patch of wild vegetables grows undisturbed, some poking out of the ground revealing a tantalising orange colour.
The Bunny hops gentler than before towards the patch, it's eyes darting around, still on the lookout for any predators, sensing nothing wrong it hops quickly to the patch, it uses its forepaws to gently and nimbly dig the orange vegetable out of the dirt, revealing the vegetable in all of its orange glory, fully showcasing its round body, the Bunny grabs the carroot. (that's not a mistake I decided that instead of a carrot it should be an orange potato called a carroot, because I can!)
It holds the carroot with its forepaws, while stood on its hind legs, it brings the carroot to its mouth and takes quick small nibbles, between nibbles it scans around the patch, still looking for danger, it's too late however as it's already hoped into the metaphorical sharks den, or in this case the Wolves den.
From behind the Bunny rises a silent grey shadow, stood on its four legs, around 5 times the size of the Bunny, is a Wolf (it's the Wolf) it's eyes focused on the Bunny, it waits until it's prey let's it's guard down, the moment is soon upon it as the Bunny finishes the carroot and prepares to dig out another, the Wolf pounces, it pushes the Bunny down with one of its forepaws, using the other for balance, it shows it's fangs and gets ready to bite down on IT'S prey, it opens its mouth, it leans down, and….
"Wait!!! I surrender, please don't kill me!!!" A small cutesy voice screams out from the Bunny?!
The Wolf stands there, mouth agape staring at the source of the voice, before it suddenly…
"Bwahahahaha!!! Why would I not eat you? You look delicious, hahahahaha, although you are the first bunny I've seen reach the second level of it's beast core, I never thought a bunny would have such a nice voice, shame I'll never hear it again, but hopefully you taste as good as you sound!!"
The Wolf says manically as it leans down ready to claim it's prey, as it's teeth near the Bunny's neck, the expected pleading never arrives, instead the Wolf, much to its shock, discovers that the Bunny is staring straight at it with not an ounce of fear.
"Why aren't you pleading? If you beg hard enough I might spare you." The Wolf states in confusion.
"What's the point of begging? All it would do is delay the inevitable, I might as well face my death head on instead, at least then it would save me some time." The Sweet voice says coldly.
"If that's how you see it, then why bother trying to begin with?" The Wolf asks its voice still laced with confusion.
"It was worth a try, now hurry up and get it over with." The Bunny coldly replies.
The Wolf stares at the Bunny for a few seconds before lifting its paw from the Bunny's neck.
"Follow me, I've decided to keep you as a pet, don't bother trying to escape we both know I will be able to hunt you down." The Wolf grumbles menacingly its voice resolute.
Now it's the Bunny's turn to be confused, it's never heard of a "pet" before, however if it means it gets to live the Bunny will gladly go along with it, and so it nods to the Wolf, who swiftly turns around and walks to the south into the woods.
The Bunny lags slightly behind, not daring to attempt to run away, eventually they reach a cave deep in the woods.
"How come there aren't any other wolves here?" The Bunny asks, not really expecting an answer, instead just saying it's thoughts out loud.
"Because the rest where hunted by humans." The Wolf Calmly replies, it's voice laced with hidden anger
"Now follow me into the cave, it's getting dark and I need to hunt, I can't have you running around bringing other predators to my den." The Wolf continues.
The Bunny not daring to delay, hops it's way into the Wolves den.
The Wolf tells it to stay put before running of into the woods to hunt, several hours later it returns, it's fur slightly damp, it walks into its den and notices the Bunny curled in a corner of the den, shivering.
The Wolf shakes it's head, before walking to the Bunny making as little noise as possible before laying down, with its tail over the Bunny's body and it's head gently on top of its tail, making sure not to put too much pressure on the Bunny.
And so both the Bunny and the Wolf sleep, huddled together, the Bunny no longer cold closes the eye it left open with a small Bunny smile on it's tiny head, and the Wolf no longer alone, snuggles just a bit closer to the Bunny, gently snoozing away the night, both enjoy the sleep, while still believing that the other hates them to the core, none the wiser of each other's true feeling, at least not yet.
