One afternoon, when he had dropped her off, he had walked her to her door. She had kissed him goodbye, then he left. She had turned to open her door and discovered it open. Someone was in her home. She wondered which of her sisters had stopped by. She went into her home and into the waiting glares of her two sisters, Corinne and Melody. The look on their faces informed her that they had seen her and Clement, found her out. Oh man! She was so not prepared for this. She had planned to tell them, but it had somehow slipped her mind. Argh! How could it?!

'So much for no man yet,' Corinne sneered at her. She smiled, having nothing in her defense. She had been caught fair and square. She realized then that she should have told them about Clement much sooner.

'Since when did you start keeping secrets pumpkin pie?' Melody asked her with a jolly smile on her face. She was the carefree one.

'I don't keep secrets Melody,' she replied passing them and going to take a seat, resigned to whatever fate they had in store for her.

'Is he some dude you met at the bar that you dance?' Corinne asked her. 'I don't want a hit and dump man for my little sis,' she said.

'You're correct Corinne, I did meet him at Silver Fire,' she said. Corinne cringed loudly at the reply, distastefully. Melody took a seat but Corinne remained standing.

'How long have you both been together?' Melody asked excitement in her eyes.

'It must have been long with the way they were falling upon each other,' Corinne snapped sarcastically referring to the kiss. Chinwem sighed. Corinne was ever the mother hen. Why hadn't she been like that on the night that marred their lives? She had been the risk taker that night. It wasn't as if she was blaming Corinne, but the girl had been the causative of that hideous incident that had left not one but ten traumatized.

'How long have both of you been seeing each other? How far have both of you come?' Melody asked ignoring Corinne's remark.

'We haven't had sex if that is what you want to know,' Chinwem replied sarcastically. Melody was ever the sex freak.

'Who is he?' Corinne demanded, finally sitting down. Chinwem snorted.

'You should have asked that since,' she told her grumpy triplet. 'He is Clement Ugwu, a lawyer. He handles U and G limited, a law firm.' Melody made to speak. 'Yes, the U and G limited you know so don't bother asking. He is my boyfriend. I met him at silver fire like I said. He stalked me for months. I finally agreed to be his a few weeks back. It wasn't my intention to not inform you. Forgive me but I've been busy.'

'Well,' Corinne started to say. 'When you say it that way-'

'Oh knock it off Corinne! Let the girl have a life, let her live it to the fullest. Our baby has a good boyfriend!' Melody interrupted her.

'Yes she does,' she said, resigned. She beamed after a moment of hesitation, her earlier anger forgotten.

'We must celebrate this feat with loads of alcohol and-'

'No alcohol Melody, only fruit juice,' Corinne, the mother hen warned sternly.

'Accepted,' Melody said. Ululation broke out between the two. They were about to turn her living room into a bar and disco club. Well, she could do nothing, having no say as the youngest, seven minutes late. She sighed softly. She could only stare at the jubilating two, happy and a bit resigned.
