Chapter 73 - Dreams

Noah rose up from his bed. His face revealed a placid expression, yet there was a faint hint of annoyance in his eyes. 'These dreams are getting worse, almost every night now.' His Internal Sight shifted inwards, focusing on the mist surrounding his Essence Core. 'I wonder if that bastard is the cause of this.'

The transmigrator was truly helpless, the dreams had become more frequent since his encounter with the Devilsoul master. He barely knew anything about the workings of Devilsoul masters so he didn't know if what was happening to him was actually a mental problem or the workings of the dead Evans.

Sighing, the Half-dragon undressed and got into the shower, using the hot water to drown his thoughts. He came out a few minutes later after sorting out his thoughts. After dressing up in simple training outfit, he moved upstairs to the third floor where his training room was situated.

Upon getting there, he slid the door open and was welcomed by the sight of a large football field that was definitely larger than his house. But this hadn't shocked Noah when he had first visited his training room. He already knew that the academy possessed a Spatial affinity Battlesoul master as its Vice principal, so it was really not surprising to see modified rooms that were obviously bigger than the rooms that housed them.

Noah infused his Essence into his Star Record and sent another string of Essence into the device that housed an orb at its tip.

_

Welcome. What settings would you like to apply to the facility?

_

The transmigrator tapped down and immediately felt a gravitational pressure 3 times stronger than the standard force pressed down against him while multiple obstacles appeared before him. He nodded in satisfaction while feeling the increase in his weight.

His Blood Essence surged, pouring down into his legs as he dashed forward with Dragon Steps, each step of his causing the ground to shake a bit. His dash boasted off incredible speed, almost reaching the speed of sound, but his path remained linear even as a wall of stone grew increasingly closer to him.

Yet as he was about to crash into the boulder, the transmigrator suddenly teleported, appearing at its side and passing by the obstacle. He once more grew increasingly close to another boulder, only for him to Flicker, appearing at the clear path that was beside it and continuing his dash.

Still, his training soon came to an end as he felt the Essence flow within him lag and move out of control for a bit, allowing him to smash into the obstacles that he aimed to dodge.

"Urgh." Noah cursed, the deviation of Essence was still something that he couldn't solve yet. At least not until he was able to process two different things at the same time. He stood up, massaging his hurting nose and sighed.

The transmigrator, not willing to give up, continued his training for a few more hours before finally ending his training after feeling the sore muscles that screamed bloody murder at him and wished for nothing else than to get some rest in. "It's time to call them, I guess."

He stretched and deactivated the gravitational pressure and left his training room, taking his bath and calling the others through the Star Record.

Noah stared at the three individuals that were before him. The three being Emery, Argos and Leonel. Currently they all sat within the Half-dragon's abode, sipping on the refreshments he had brought for them.

"You need our help?" Argos spoke in between his sips, making sure to savor the drink before him. It was a beverage few could afford. Of course he could afford it if he were allowed access to the family's accounts. But within the academy, he could do no such thing so he could only settle for the normal drinks the academy offered for free.

Noah, on the other hand, was not limited to this. All the money he had on him was earned through the dealings he had done within the Ivory City Auction House and were all under his name so he had access to it despite the academy's attempts to cutting of students' sources of income.

"Yes, I recently discovered a well-paying mission that I would need your help on." The transmigrator tapped onto his watch and pulled up the information he had received about the mission his mentor had mentioned.

_

Elimination:

Find and eliminate a group of bandits terrorizing the Star city trade transport road.

Reward: 100,000 Credits

_

"That is indeed a lot." Emery was quite surprised to see the amount of zeros within the reward. He was even a bit tempted to take on the mission alone but immediately drove away the thought. The dark haired boy knew his weaknesses, his attacks were more geared towards single targets. Taking on an entire group of bandits with strengths that almost rivaled his was too hard. "How do we go about it?"

"There are four of us here, so we'll each get 25, 000 Credits. I'm sure everyone has something they'd like to urgently buy so I think that amount would be very helpful. So, who's in?" Noah retrieved the hologram and asked the trio.

Leonel was, of course, the first one to agree to the question. Smiling as he replied. "Of course I'm in. I've been feeling cooped up inside the academy anyways, a little field work is what I need right now."

Argos smiled while burying himself even deeper into the comfortable couch. "Sure, I need some Credits to buy a new item I saw the last day."

Emery noticed their barely existent hesitance and sighed, finishing his beverage before replying. "I'm also in. When will it begin?"

Noah nodded in satisfaction seeing that they had all agreed. "We'll go to the administrative office tomorrow and register ourselves for the mission. After that, we'll immediately head out for the Ravine borders."

"It's a deal then." The three smiled and agreed, feeling eager for their first mission after the months spent within the Soaring Star academy walls.
