Chapter 52 - Black

Noah and the ape stared at each other for a good while before charging at each other. The transmigrator had chosen to sprint off without equipping his sword, charging only with his clenched Dragonified fists.

The two met almost instantly, their fists meeting in the air. But Noah was quick to execute his martial art. Azure Dragon Art: Rebound!

His hand was pushed back by the punch, with multiple bones on the verge of fracture but he grit his teeth and bore with the pain before twisting his body as he transferred the momentum to his right hand. That wasn't all though, his fist glowed with a khaki colored Essence as he activated his Gravity Force to the utmost he could manage: 500 kilograms!

"HA!" With a yell, the transmigrator unleashed his devastating punch releasing an explosive sound as his fist met the chest of the ape.

Blood left the ape's lips as it was sent flying but Noah wasn't done yet. With a Flicker he appeared the beast, releasing a powerful uppercut with the Dragon Fist once more. The beast could only reveal a helpless expression as it was sent flying.

It was at this moment that Noah finally unsheathed his sword, pouring all his Essence into his sword as he charged his Drill Thrust while still reactivating the 500 kilogram Gravity Force. "Leonel!"

"On it." The boy was quick to answer as he jumped into the air and used his Shooting Star battle skill to appear above the airborne ape before thrusting his spear downward. "Falling Star!" With a flash of bright light, Leonel used the effect of the skill to force the beast downwards with an accelerating speed.

Noah even made it worse by finally activating his Pull battle skill to further increase the speed at which the two fell. "Jump off, Leonel!" The boy complied, retrieving his spear before jumping off. The ape roared as it saw this and sought to release another fire ball but Noah chose to use that moment to thrust forward with the large spiral of Essence coating his sword.

"RAAAHHH!!!" With a roar of pain, the ape thrashed as it felt the sword sink deep into its heart. But the struggle didn't last long before it finally became still.

With a relieved sigh, Noah retrieved his sword and released his Embodiment. Then the world turned black.

"Interesting." A certain man, looking about 30 years old, smiled in amusement as he watched the scene happen from above. Yes, above. At the moment, he was stationed about a thousand meters above the ground, resting his jaw on his fist as he sat atop a raging lightning cloud. Occasionally lightning bolts would leave the cloud, striking against him but would weirdly fuse into his skin with no signs of damage. Possessing the familiar black hair and blue colored eyes, one could recognize the man as the Soaring Star Academy's Principal, Oliver Wright. "Don't you think so Emilia?"

"Are you going to do anything about that?" A voice said as it looked down with him. The owner was a young woman about 25 years of age. Her black hair, silver colored eyes, beautiful appearance and to-die-for body, not too busty nor slim, could make any man willing to sacrifice anything for such a beauty. She currently appeared beside Oliver but stood atop the air as if it were solid. She appeared to be a wielder of the wind affinity but the man was sure that if he attempted to reach her, despite her relatively close distance, he would fail. In fact he would have to walk several meters before finally reaching her, an apt way of naming her state was "So close, yet so far".

Yes. This lady, Emilia Wright, was the person within the Sparing Star Academy that possessed the extremely rare Spatial affinity.

Oliver glanced at her before responding. "Well dear sister, this is the first time we're setting eyes on someone with your rare affinity and even better, his affinity rate seems even higher than yours. Furthermore, he's an even bigger prodigy for possessing a soul that can house two Battlesouls. I've gotta test his limits, plus you can always save him in a jiffy."

Emilia pondered for a while before finally sighing. "Sure. It's your academy anyways." She paused for a bit then looked towards one of the VIP room. "What about the people that caused the ruckus."

A chuckle left Oliver as he glanced at the man with golden hair who looked solemnly at the screen before him. "Leave them. A kid's gotta have some hardships in his life."

Noah groaned as he sat up slowly. As he did, he could feel the rattling of multiple of his bones that were still in the process of healing and he hissed as the pain of the previous fight hit his senses.

Before him, Leonel sighed in relief as he saw him finally wake up. But his face revealed a weird expression as he noticed Noah only revealing a slightly painful face. "Noah… Don't lie…"

"Hmm?" The transmigrator finally focused on the boy as he heard this and his body involuntarily tensed as he noticed his solemn look.

"Are you a masochist?"

"Puh!" Noah let out a cough as he almost choked on his own spit. "Goddammit! That's your question?! Also how do I look like a masochist?!"

Leonel merely brushed his anger off as his disgusted expression became more and more prominent. "I know how much bones in your body are fractured, you even had a dislocated shoulder! There's no way in hell, a kid would just let out a little look of pain!"

"Fuck off!" With a tug of his mind, the Essence within his body moved and executed the Push Battle skill on Leonel, sending the boy several meters away. But a slight smile appeared on his lips as he watched the boy get up from the floor and gave him an aggrieved look. 'I guess there really is someone that can make me react like this other than you Ian.'

But suddenly a shiver ran down the transmigrator's spine, prompting him to attempt to stand up. Unfortunately his body was still recovering so he could do nothing as a familiar crimson light washed over him.

Noah's world turned black once more.
