Julie and Pierre left the club at 4 in the morning. Sooner Jade wouldn't let them leave.
When they arrived back home Pierre didn't want to part from Julie. But what could he do? Asking her if he could sleep in her apartment wasn't appropriate.
"Do you want to have a late breakfast tomorrow? I know a place where we can have english breakfast all day," Pierre asked hopeful.
"Sure. I will call you when I wake up." Julie was thankful that Pierre wanted to spend time with her otherwise she would just wallow in self-pity thinking about Gianni.
Yesterday after work she spent the whole afternoon thinking about her date with him. She still wanted to figure out what went wrong and even though she knew she wouldn't get an answer to her questions, she couldn't help but obsessively rack her brain about it.
It was a relief when Pierre came over in the evening to have dinner and watch TV together. With someone else present, she could escape her negative thoughts a little better.
Julie was aware that Pierre came with the purpose to distract her. Since the incident with Gianni, he has been trying extra hard to make her smile and she appreciated that he takes care of her. She wished that she could pay him back some day for being such a good friend.
"Good. I will see you tomorrow then. Good night Julie." Pierre smiled. He was happy that she accepted but he wasn't only planning to take Julie out for breakfast but to spend the whole day with her. He will think of something fun and it will be like a date.
If they collect good memories together Julie will grow more attached to him. And who knows? Maybe she will even fall in love. Pierre was hopeful at that thought. From now on he wants to be a constant presence in her life so that Julie can't imagine her days without him anymore. Like this it will be easier to confess his feelings to her.
"Good night Pierre." Julie closed the door behind her and Pierre was left standing in the hallway dreaming about his potential relationship with Julie.
He thought about all the possibilities the next day could bring and he was determined to make it special.
…
It was Sunday and Gianni and Matteo's last day in the South of France at the Cote d'Azur. They were spending their last morning on the beach. This afternoon they will fly back to Milan.
Gianni was laying on a towel reading a book while bathing under the hot sun.
He tried to focus on the content of the book but it was useless. Julie was still on his mind and he couldn't shake those thoughts off. He didn't think it would effect him this much. But the truth was that her betrayal hit him hard.
He still can't wrap his mind around what kind of person Julie was. She seemed so sweet and innocent and not like a girl who would be in an open relationship.
When he saw her at this café in Paris it was like the world around him stilled and only she was left. Gianni never experienced anything like this in his life and he thought it meant something but apparently he was wrong about that.
Gianni exhaled frustrated while closing his book. He turned on his back to sunbathe the other side of his body.
He didn't want to think about Julie anymore but he couldn't stop. This whole vacation was a disaster.
Last night he even dreamed about her. He saw her standing in the middle of a green field in a long white dress. Her beautiful honey blond hair was blowing in the wind, the sun was illuminating her face and her dark blue eyes were sparkling when she looked back at him.
Gianni remembered that in his dream he tried to cross the field running towards Julie but no matter how much he ran the distance between them didn't get smaller.
He screamed her name when she started to walk further away from him but Julie ignored his desperate calls.
Gianni continued running while seeing Julie's figure getting smaller and smaller. When he tripped and fell to the ground, he woke up from his dream with a jerk.
Gianni didn't know what to make of that. Why was he dreaming about her and why did it all feel so real? Why can't he get that girl out of his head?
"You are thinking about her again right?" Matteo surprised him. He just came out of the water and was wiping his body with a towel before laying down next to Gianni.
"What no, I was just thinking about work tomorrow." Gianni tried to come up with an excuse.
"Yeah right. Who do you want to fool. I had to endure that look on your face for the last three days. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to just leave. You should have talked it out with her."
"So she can tell me that she has a boyfriend. What good would that do. It would just be more humiliating."
"Maybe it would give you some closure," Matteo tried to reason.
Gianni sighed. "Today we will go back home. That is all the closure I need. When I am back in my normal life I will forget about it quickly."
"Okay, if you say so." Matteo wasn't convinced at all. Back home was still his ex-girlfriend and he hasn't gotten over that relationship either. But what could Matteo do to help his friend? This trip was obviously a total failure and he was out of ideas.
"I'm sorry that I ruined this vacation." Gianni apologized all of a sudden.
But Matteo couldn't be mad at his friend. "Don't worry about it. I had parties and met lots of girls. I had fun. I just wish you would have had some too."
Gianni was touched. "I appreciate it, man. I promise you I will be my old self again soon."
Matteo gave Gianni a pad on the shoulder. "I hope so. I can't stand seeing you like this."
Gianni felt bad for Matteo. He knew he planned this vacation to distract him from Sabrina just for him to get his heart broken again.
He didn't want to feel like this anymore. Constantly having his heart crushed can't be a good way to live.
He has high goals that he can't achieve if he is busy with personal drama all the time. He was determined to work hard and finally reach the next stage in his music career.
…
Julie was confused. She found herself in the darkness walking through the woods and she didn't know how she ended up there.
When she looked down on herself she noticed that she was wearing a heavy green dress with white gloves. The dress looked kind of out of time and was she wearing a corset?
It was difficult to walk and breathe in that thing but Julie kept going because she had no choice. She needed to find a way out of this forest.
To her it felt like she was walking for hours and the forest would never end. Julie started panicking. What if she dies here? It was dark and she was disoriented.
Just when she was about to cry she noticed sunlight peaking through some branches in the distance. Julie was walking toward that spot in hurried steps and when she arrived there she noticed that she found a small clearing.
There was a big old tree and to her surprise there was a man leaning against it. He was wearing a red uniform and he carried a rifle.
Julie wasn't sure if she should ask for help. What if he was dangerous?
But her steps seemed to carry her towards him against her will.
As soon as the man noticed her, he smiled at her brightly. "There you are my love. I was waiting desperately for you."
Julie felt like she was struck by lightning as soon as her eyes locked with his. She didn't know this man yet she felt like she should know him. There was a sense of familiarity in his eyes.
Julie was overcome with extremely strong emotions and the shock caused her to wake up.
She was in her bed breathing heavily and her skin was covered in a fine layer of sweat.
'What the hell was that?' She thought.
When she caught her breath again she noticed that she was practically dying from thirst. She went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
Was the alcohol still messing with her head? She was suffering from a headache and she was sure that she had a hangover.
After getting rid of her thirst, she sat down on her sofa. She could still remember her dream vividly. It was so realistic. Julie never experienced something like that.
Usually, she would forget her dreams after a few minutes but the bright smile and the friendly eyes of that man were burned into her memory.
'What was that supposed to mean?' Julie thought. A man she has never seen before was suddenly appearing in her dream.
A fleeting thought of Gianni's friendly smile crossed her mind and Julie shook her head desperate to not think about him anymore.
'This dream has nothing to do with him,' Julie argued with herself. 'It's all just the effect of the alcohol.'
Julie didn't want to think about it anymore and went back to bed. She didn't want to stay up all night. She promised Pierre a breakfast tomorrow.
