Chapter 3 - New beginning

'I still can't take this situation seriously. It still feels like a weird dream. Why me though??' these thoughts keep popping into her head but there is nothing she can do now.

"My lady it's time for you to start your day," Luke said.

"Alright," she replied and questioned "Is there anything I have to accomplish today? like missions,"

"Your mission is to earn favorable points from your target lead. You don't need to do anything extra, and you can change the plot freely."

After hearing the explanation, Sora felt relieved and a bit more confident.

"Here we go with a fresh start!""

"Your first target is your childhood sweetheart. We made some time adjustments, but we encountered an error that prevented us from going further. As a result, we started the story on the third day of the third party's appearance.."

"What was his name again? Does he still like me, or does he totally hate me now??"

"My lady, his name is Derek Plathonium. I also need to mention one important rule that I forgot.."

"what is it?"

"You only recognize their favorable traits when you first meet them and when those traits align perfectly."

"What do I do if it hits 100??"

"You can make any decision you want. This world belongs to you, my lady."

....

As they walked, they reached the hall and spotted Derek sitting closely with another woman. Sora scoffed and said, 'Now that I've seen this scene, even if you were to fall in love with me later, I wouldn't give you a chance.'

"Derek, I'm scared," the woman said, hiding in his arms.

'What are you scared of you little slut?' Sora thought to herself.

Derek looked up and saw Sora walking toward them. Anger flashed across his face as he stood up, placing himself protectively in front of the woman, choosing to defend her instead of his wife.

[ Derek and Sora got married after her coming-of-age ceremony. Sora did not notice Derek's strange behavior during their marriage. She acted as if everything was fine until Derek filed for divorce and forced her to leave their home.]

Sora laughed but quickly changed her expression into worried "Derek, what exactly are you doing? And who is this woman?"

Derek felt confused 'did she just laugh?? I don't think it's possible.'

The woman smirked confidently but changed her look and said in an overly sweet tone, "Sora, how could you forget me? I'm your sister. I know you may not like me, but it's me—Serra Travan, your only sister." She continued but in her thoughts  'You might not have clear memories of your family, but you do remember some things. So why not let me benefit from the memory of your sister?'

"Serra ??"

"Yes, do you remember me now??" she grabbed Sora's hand and smiled at her. 'This is easier than I anticipated. Seizing her place in this palace is a breeze, and I can hardly wait. She's so naive.'

Sora pulled her hand away and started to cry, leaving both Derek and Serra confused. Derek rushed toward her, worry etched on his face. "What's going on?" he asked. In response, Sora pushed Derek away and shouted, "Are you doing this on purpose? Derek, answer me!"

Derek was at a loss for words, bewildered by the situation. All he could do was try to calm her down. He supported her, gently guiding her to the sofa and sitting beside her. Meanwhile, Serra felt ignored and humiliated. She approached her sister and touched her hand, but before she could speak, Sora brushed her hand away, yelling, "DON'T TOUCH ME! Derek, tell her not to touch me, please!" Sora hid her hands away from Liala.

Seeing how serious the situation had become, Derek turned to Serra and asked her to leave the room.

After she went out of the room she became furious. 'How is this happening? What's going on with her? Just remember, what you might escape today won't be the same tomorrow, my dear sister.'

"Sora Darling, have you calmed down?" Derek asked softly.

'Now I am your darling please hump'

"Derek why would you do this to me?" Sora was trembling with fear and nervousness was hinted in her voice. "Darling I don't understand what you mean?" he was confused and worried seeing her like this.

"What do you mean you don't understand? You know my sister Serra was dead after only one year of our wedding and you bought a woman claiming to be my dead sister? How am I supposed to act? Tell me, Derek" he was shocked. "what do you mean she is dead?"

"Heh, you don't even know the situation of your wife's family. Why do you think I stopped talking about my family after one year of our marriage? Have you never been curious about my or my family's situation" When Sora asked that question, Derek couldn't respond. He felt like Sora had reverted to her old self and began acting as she used to. He never questioned her behavior or sought answers; he just left her alone. He thought that, in time, she would gradually start talking like she once did.

"Then who is this woman?" he asked. Sora looked at him and said, "You should be the one answering me. Why are you questioning me now?"

.....

After their discussion, they concluded that the woman in question was indeed an imposter. However, she was truthful about being a sister to Sora. Three years following the tragic death of Serra, Sora's family had adopted a young girl who bore a striking resemblance to her late sister, yet they had been unable to get in touch with Sora. In the meantime, whispers circulated throughout the town, suggesting that Sora had completely forgotten about her parents ever since her marriage. It was then that Stacy, the girl adopted by Sora's family, proposed that she visit her sister to see how she was faring.

All she wanted was Sora's title. Though she was already the loving daughter of the Travan family, she remained unsatisfied.

Derek paused for a moment and said, "So the badge was indeed correct." He glanced between the badge and the file in his hand. "How did I never notice that you were suffering? I'm not worthy to be your husband. Please forgive me, Sora. I will make everything right." He sat in his chair, wrote a letter to Sora's parents, and then called his secretary.

"Julius, do you know why we never received a letter from Sora's parents?"

"In this matter, the letter hasn't likely left their home or town. If it had reached our state, we would have been informed," Julius asserted confidently.

"So you are saying the letter had never reached our land" he looked at him with doubt.

"Yes sir. If our people were to receive a letter from madam's household we would have sent it here ourselves."

"I want you to figure out why this happened" he believed him and looked at the letter.

"ok sir"

"Here give this letter to her parents and make sure they get it in person."

"May I take my leave then sir"

"Yes..oh wait there is one more thing left and it is about our cunning imposter"

"I got it, sir"

The next day outside the Plathonium palace gate.

"Miss, please get in so we can get moving," the guard said. "What is going on? Wasn't my stay supposed to be longer?" she asked.

"The lady of the house has asked you not to visit her."

"What about Derek?"

"Sir Derek has instructed you to stop calling him Derek and instead refer to him as 'brother-in-law.' He also mentioned that you can only visit if accompanied by at least one member of the Travan family."

"What?"

"Please, miss, get inside."

She didn't want to go and admit her defeat, but she had no choice.

"Stacy, you may be confused, but you need to recognize your role in this situation," Sora watched as the carriage departed from her room window.

"My lady, I am very impressed by your acting skills and how you engage with the game. Your ability to show real emotions makes the performance stand out."

"I would not have confidence if you hadn't told me he had 79 favorable points." She smiled, but her expression seemed so vacant.

"what are you thinking my lady?"

"It's amusing to think that, despite having such a strong and favorable opinion of me, he decided to trust a stranger instead."

"My lady"

"It felt like he was constantly searching for an excuse to distance himself from me. It was as if my presence had become a weight he couldn't bear any longer."
