Chereads / Knowing Finn Jacobs / Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Yas and I had discovered 4 other people had also posted me on their Instagram and it got the same attention or even more as the first one did. I was grateful that at least no one knew my name but that was quickly squashed over the weekend when someone demanded my name in the comments section and apparently someone dropped my full name which was crazy since I thought no one noticed me or knew that I existed.

I thought it would blow over by Monday but boy was I wrong. When I walked through the hallway as usual with Yas this morning and from nowhere people were mentioning my name and greeting me or either telling me good morning which I shyly replied with a wave and good morning of my own since I was so stressed out. Yas tried telling me the bright side of my sudden popularity but I knew there wasn't a bright side to it. I just really hoped and even prayed that Finn was very oblivious and he didn't have anyone's number from school but I knew that was a fat joke and I was about to find out.

I sat in English class which was the only class that I had with Finn and if I felt uncomfortable just being around him then I was really crippled since I felt his stare on the back of my head. Normally I was stiff but now I'm army rigid and I didn't want to take notice when Finn told my desk partner, Tobias who I was too shy to engage conversation with, to get up and he was up like lightning and ran to Finn seat, I wanted to grab onto his pants and beg him not to leave but I couldn't.

"Hello Jessie and how are you?" Finn's deep voice said almost directly in my ear and the way he said my name had a little bit of firmness behind it, everything in my body told me to face but I didn't and instead replied almost robotically

"We should pay attention to the lesson"

"Don't be so coy with me now Jessie you're being quite the copycat" The way he said the words 'Jessie' and 'Copycat' had its own underlying meaning which I didn't need to translate to understand, I turned to him and said

"Listen to me Finn" I said his name with extra firmness "I wasn't dressed as you to the party, I was actually dressed up as Ian Somerhalder" His eyes twinkled in amusement throughout my whole tirade and he replied sarcastically

"I'm sure you dressed up as Ian Somerhalder"

I groaned and said "Listen here you grounded beef just because you have some features..." I pointed out to his dark brown hair and blue eyes "and I happen to wear your favorite choice of clothing doesn't mean that I am suddenly imitating you alright"

I finished with a huff and realized I stood up to Finn and called him grounded beef and all he did was laugh which made me keep quiet and sink back into my chair. When the lesson was over Finn stood up and said "See you later Jessie" before leaving. After packing up my stuff I decided to leave until Mr Henderson decided to call me back

"Miss Rover please come here" I came to the front of his desk and waited for what he had to say "Miss Rover I know you're really trying your best but it isn't enough, you're failing the class and getting lower than your average c which isn't good I suggest you take up a tutor or shall I help you get one" I could hear the concern in Mr Henderson and I nodded

"I appreciate your help Mr Henderson thank you very much, I would be very grateful if you could recommend a tutor for me"

He nodded "Thank you for understanding, that would be all Miss Rover you can take your leave now" I thanked him once more before I left. I sighed going to my next class. Why couldn't I be one of those quiet nerdy girls who got straight A's but if I was I would definitely be a main character but considering I was an average c student and on lucky days a b student so I was definitely a side character.

I told Yas everything that happened during English class with Finn and also the part with Mr Henderson

"Awwwn you poor baby I know how much you love English and I wish I could tutor you but I barely scrape by with my own grades" I nodded in understanding Yas was an average B or C student and if she was lucky she could get an A, a total upgrade from where I stood

"But think of the bright side of today, at least you now know that Finn is cool about the whole imitating thing and he would likely not send his gangsters after you" Yas said and I rolled my eyes

"Ugh why do people think he's in some sort of gang like have they seen him there before" I said and Yas shrugged in response

"Actually someone said they saw him in a dark alley dealing with drugs"

"What was the person doing there in the first place and how did they know it was drugs he was dealing with"

"Why are you defending him so much?"

I shrugged "I don't know the whole idea just sounds stupid to me"

"Do you have proof to counteract that he isn't in a gang" I shook my head negatively "Then there you have it, he is in a gang" I said nothing as Yas continued munching on her sandwich. There was a huge ass possibility that Finn might be in a gang since no one had ever been to his house.
