Chapter 18 - They Don't Know Each Other

The journey began, those with different backgrounds did not seem to greet each other even though it was something that seemed normal.

"Look at the two different people from our group, they have scary faces! Do they also want a big reward from this quest?" asked a man who was the leader of his two friends.

"Yeah, it looks like they're up to something, I'm sure they won't want to let go of this golden opportunity!"

"Don't be stupid you two, it's possible that they also have economic problems in life so they want to carry out this quest!"

"It's up to the two of them, but if they can only be a burden, I'll kill them!"

These three people had already prepared themselves in doing so.

Azazel heard what they were talking about, he only acted calm to dispel the notion that he was a strong person.

Watching stupid people act like them was normal sometimes, and he wanted to see what their abilities were like.

The atmosphere turned to night, a journey that was not too dangerous. Today they haven't found a monster that will attack.

Everyone was in front of the same bonfire, but neither of them started a conversation.

Their clients also became confused by the attitude of the adventurers who did not get along.

"What are they really doing? Why is the aura here so gripping!" said the merchant from his heart, after finishing the food, he stood up. "I'm going to sleep, you guys I've hired must be on guard so no robbers come!"

All do not need to answer, this is a task that must be done at any cost.

Now the atmosphere only left the five of them.

"Alright, I think it's time for some serious talk to begin!" said the man named Federic. "I see that you guys have the same goal in completing this quest, what I want to ask is, do you guys have such great abilities that you dare to carry out this quest?"

"What's your business in asking this? It's clear that we shouldn't have answered those remarks!" replied the man named Kamo.

"How dare you say that, do you already have great abilities here?"

The two of them looked at each other intently.

Azazel just looked away, not interested in him following the conversation of people who only care about the selfishness in the body.

"You two better not fight, remember that here we have to work together to protect the client!" rebutted a girl who belonged to the same group as Federic.

"Alright, I'm also here don't want to waste energy! However, I just want to make sure that you guys won't be a burden to us doing this quest! We've promised to complete this quest, and if you guys here are just a burden, I think it's best to just leave! After this trip it became clear that the direction we were going was going to be a dangerous place, it was famous for a lot of monsters! I was actually surprised when the Guild didn't give special conditions to adventurers who wanted to do this quest! So, if you guys here don't have great abilities, don't push yourself, we won't protect you! Remember that your life is your own responsibility, so don't expect someone else to help!"

"That also applies to you guys, I wouldn't be here to help weak people like yourself, so don't expect me to be willing to save anyone!"

The atmosphere then became silent, their conversation ended.

Federic allowed his two comrades to sleep, while he would keep watch. There was no way he would let two unknown strangers do anything.

"Huh… I thought earlier that this trip would be filled with those who had the attitude of a traveler, but I was overreacting! Yes, who can guess what will happen!"

Kamo left from there, no one asked any questions, just a sharp glance. Kamo apparently sleeps in a tree to avoid attacks from people who don't like him.

There were only the two of them left, and the look on their faces continued to stare at the fire.

Federic looked at Azazel, that man was sitting cross-legged while closing his eyes. "What did he do? Meditating in a night like this is it serious? Huh... but it's none of my business, he won't be able to let his guard down!"

Azazel was indeed meditating, no one knew that he was spreading the sensors in his body. Every area in the surroundings could be felt, even the breaths of living beings could be felt clearly.

Several hours have passed.

"Uh?" Federic looked to the side, his eyes already so sleepy.

"Let me take care, you must be tired!"

"Yeah, I'm counting on you!" Federic entered the tent, his body just lying down. "Huh... so tiring, I'll be sleeping in a little while!"

In a nutshell, time has passed.

Federic woke after seeing a bright light had appeared, he poked his head out of the tent. And, there everyone was ready to go on a journey.

"Tch… what a short night!"

"Day two, so what kind of trip are we going to do? Will things be okay, or will there be problems today?" Azazel furrowed his eyebrows, a bad feeling came over his body.

This journey through a dense forest, there the atmosphere is so gripping that it causes goosebumps.

"What forest is this?" asked Federic's partner.

"We haven't crossed that area yet, but why is the atmosphere so bad here! Both of you stay alert, here there might be a monster that will appear!"

What Federic said was indeed the truth, right before their eyes now appeared several wolf-shaped monsters with sharp teeth,

"So these are the ones we're going to face!" said Federic in a confident tone.

The number in front of them was more than twenty, and the faces of the monsters looked so ferocious as to pounce on those there.

The attack started from one of the wolves who was after the coachman.

Crash....

Federic who used the ability to do the first attack.

"Don't be lazy, here we have to clear things up!" said Federic with a scornful face towards the two people who didn't seem panicked when they saw the monsters. "Tch… these two people don't seem to have any intention of settling this! Do they really want to be the ones protecting the clients?"
