Chapter 6 - Sin

Henry watched in horror as the bear attacked his parents. He ran toward them, desperate to save them. "Get away from me, you mother-" Henry's dad screamed at the bear before his head was ripped off. Henry's mother screamed in terror. "Carl!" she cried before the bear came for her. Henry sobbed, pleading for the bear to stop. The bear appeared as if it was smiling while eating the head of Henry's mother.

Henry sobbed and pleaded before anger took over. His first instinct was to rush towards the bear, ready to attack. He grabbed his dad's gun and shot the bear twice. Shoot out of bullets. Henry panicked and threw his gun at the bear. The gun hit the bear, and it just stared. Henry screamed in terror and took off sprinting into the woods. The bear snorted when it seemed to have realized what Henry was trying to do. It chase after him and then pounced up behind him. Henry cried as multiple thoughts rushed through his head. Some were pathetic like 'Ah, I'm going to die!' to 'I'll kill this man!' He then realized that with all those thoughts going through his head, nothing had happened. He slowly opened his eyes and saw the bear staring him down. "Ah, I thought you'd chicken to death." the bear said. Henry's eyes widened as it realized the bear had spoken. "What?" he asked cautiously. The bear sighed in exasperation. "Your parents died. I killed them, and they deserved it. They started the war with the North, blamed your uncle, and killed lots of people." It said.

"I don't understand." Henry exclaimed. "Why would my parents do that? I mean, they are good people."

The bear scoffed. "You ever heard a lie before?" It asked. Henry stammered but then replied with: "Why should I trust you?"

The bear grinned and vanished into thin air. Henry stood there, confused. He ran and punched a tree. "DAMMIT!" he screamed. Repeatedly punching the poor tree. "WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED. WHY DID THEY DIE? GOD'S JUDMENT HUH?" he shrieked while banging his head against the tree. His family was gone within a book chapter. It was as if he was in some fantasy novel rigged against him.

Suddenly, Henry heard a low crunching noise, but he didn't care, for he was too busy grieving. Then- out of nowhere, 5 men dressed in slick white suits with their faces covered by a frowny face mask approached Henry. "We've come from the North and we want to talk."
