Chapter 129 - ISSUE #119

" Hgmmm!" Ian groaned as he held his waist, the bandages that wrapped around them clung tightly to his skin, The stinging feeling was intense. " Hank, you don't have anything I can take for the pain?" Ian asked. He was currently lying down in one of the medical beds, next to an injured Kurt.

" I'm sorry. But you're just going to have to make do with what we have." Hank replied. He had used most of what the school had on hand, while operating on Julian.

" Damn." Ian groaned.

Then, from out of nowhere, Logan came striding into the med wing.

" Yo, Runt. You alright?" Logan asked.

" Yeah, I'm fine. Just a few scratches is all. What's up?" Ian asked the man.

" Get dressed." Logan told Ian as he threw him his top.

Ian nodded and slid the shirt on over his head and jumped up from the bed.

" What are you doing, Logan?" Hank asked the man. He was confused on why Logan was pulling one of his patients but got no answer.

Logan and Ian simply walked out of the infirmary without saying another word to the man.

Logan and Ian walked together to hangars, along the way Ian spoke up and asked Logan what it was he wanted.

" What's going on, Logan?" Ian asked the man.

" Simple. Things're getting rough. Bad. Uncertain. Playing things, the good guy way ain't gonna cut it no more. Not right now it ain't. I've been told to assemble a team. This ain't gonna be like before kid. What we're about to do, ain't bein a hero. We're about to cross a line and I need people I trust beside me. So, this is your chance to tell me, Ian. Can I trust you to watch my back and do what needs to be done?" Logan asked the man.

Ian knew immediately that Logan wasn't playing games. It was a fact he knew since it all started, that maybe things were going to change for the worse. But Ian wouldn't be where he was today without Logan. Ian was prepared to follow Logan into hell if he asked him to.

" I got your back, Logan. Whatever needs to be done." Ian told the man.

" Welcome then, Sinclair. To X-Force." Logan told the man.

The two walked into the Hangar and there waiting for them, was Hepzibah, Caliban the mutant tracker, Warpath, X-23, and Wolfsbane.

Ian would be impressed by the line-up if Rahne hadn't been involved.

" Why's Rahne here?" Ian asked the man. Rahne overheard him and slighted her eyes at the man.

" Cuz, we need trackers and fighters and Rhaney's a damn good tracker." Logan replied. He then leaned down and whispered. " Is this gonna be a problem?" Logan asked. Unlike before he was stern, almost like he was looking for a problem.

" No." Ian replied.

" Good." Logan replied. " Let's go!" Logan yelled to the others.

Ian and the rest of the team followed Logan onto the Jet, and within moments they rocketed off.

Within moments the team was high over the skies of New York. They had a long trip ahead of them, as long as it would take for them to get to Alaska.

" Alright, where are we going, Logan?" Warpath asked the man.

" Last time, the mutant baby was able to be tracked it was in Cooperstown, in Alaska. We need to find out what's keeping us from finding Cable, and that baby. And the first place we're going to look is at the hospital where the kid was born." Logan explained to the group.

" Do you really think, Cable's behind all of this?" Ian asked the man.

" Doesn't matter. He's got that kid, and we need to stop him from doing whatever it is he's planning." Logan explained.

" Yeah. But that sentinel shit. Ain't no way that was Cable. Something's not adding up man." Ian stated.

" What do ye mean?" Rahne asked.

" Why would Cable need to do all this?" Ian asked. " I mean think about it." Ian told the girl.

" We don't need to think. He tried to kill us, so whatever it is don't matter." Logan explained.

" But I don't think it was Cable, Logan. I mean as much as I can remember, Cable shouldn't have needed to go on the run. Let alone try to kill us with Sentinels. I mean, the Sentinels attacked before we knew it was Cable who had the baby. We weren't on his trail; we had no evidence he was even alive. Cable isn't the kind of guy to jeopardize himself, not that obviously. And surely he would know that an attack like that wouldn't kill us." Ian explained.

" Where are you going with this, kid?" Warpath asked the man.

" Check my logic for a second. Cable is from the future; he has technology that would allow him to travel into the future at any moment. So, why hasn't he already?" Ian asked. " Surely, he wouldn't need to stay here... Unless, for whatever reason, his technology isn't working." Ian explained. " And if that was the case, then why wouldn't he come to us for help? We know that the members of the team that Cable was a part of with Rogue has turned on us and is working with Sinister. Maybe Cable doesn't want to take the chance that the rest of us are doing the same. But he's not that dumb. Cable wouldn't think all of us traitors. No, he wouldn't come to us, unless there was someone else, Cable was running from. The problem is, there's too many options that I can't narrow it down." Ian explained.

" Okay, but that's still all speculation. And we can't count on that." Logan replied.

" Well, that's true. But there's something else." Ian told the man.

" What?" Logan asked.

" Well, if my prediction is right, and Cable is stranded in our time. That means his tech is broken. There are only five people on this planet I can think of that could figure out how to fix something that complex. Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Dr. Doom, Hank Pym, and..." Ian explained.

" And? Who else?" Warpath asked the man.

The others eyed Ian carefully, wanting to hear what it was he had to say. But it was Logan who began putting the pieces together.

" Ah, Shit." Logan cursed.

" What? Who is it, Logan?" Warpath asked once more.

" The only person in the world, Cable could realistically go to right now. The only man I know who could invent anything he thinks of. FORGE." Ian declared.
